listen to me,I've been thinking about something for years now,I know in terms of the story,akuma and evil ryu are different characters. but If you think about it,evil ryu is actually (like)a younger version of akuma symbolically/metaphorically,evil ryu is like akuma before he evolved into the red haired beast,we currently know him as in the series.. evil ryu would be when ryu uses the satsui no hado,then over time,it eventually corrupts him,and he fights many warriors until he become the supreme master of the fist,akuma would be the stage of evil ryu,years as time passes and has now evolved into a skilled warrior looking to surpass being the best fighter and surpassing all of humanity itself. I actually wish capcom would've done a story with evil ryu,where's it actually suppose to just be akuma at an early point in his life,I think it would be interesting if capcom could tell the backstory of akuma and gouken's past by using the character of evil ryu and ken as a metaphor to represent the two brothers themselves,if capcom was to do something like this It would be really clever and interesting way of storytelling.
Hmm are his stats the same as Akuma? Or are their stats slightly different? I've heard there is a difference between them but I don't know how they differ in moves or stats
I'm not sure on stats, but regarding moves there are differences between the two, the most significant ones being that Evil Ryu does not have the Air Fireball moves and him having the Super Hurricane Kick. Other differences include his Level 3 Super Fireball having a total 5 hits (Akuma's one has 8 hits in total); having a Fake Fireball; normal Fireball coming out faster, etc.
