The Bon Scott era - the best rock and roll band ever, without a shadow of a doubt. True, there's some great tunes from the Brian Johnson era, but it's the early stuff that's the best, hands down.

...to me they're two different bands....bon's in the realm of a rock sam cooke...complete soul no matter what the topic....brians job is to sing a product..and I like brian...but bons on a whole different level due to being too humble to ever care to be a star...it wasn't his goal....grounded and proud to stay there...the very best.....

@@geraldek4948 Yeh, but did I say, Brian couldn't sing? No I did not. I think you'll find that - to judge from the comments - that Bon Scott's ACDC is judged to be the best by most people. But like I said, Brian Johnson's ACDC is still great, e.g. Back in Black, Flick of the Switch.

Bon, to me…is right with Phil Mogg, Phil Lynot, Paul Rodgers, Freddie Mercury and Rob Halford are the greatest vocalists of at least the 70’s. Just looked up all of the songs that Bon wrote/co-wrote and the list is extensive…when you look at those songs, they fit perfectly with the lyrics on Back in Black. I am sure Bon had a massive part of writing the lyrics that Brian sang. Bon, I think, deserves most of the credit for the lyrics on BnB. Vocal tracks that you can listen to and pretty much understand what they are singing, w/o needing the liner notes/sleeve to read along with. Greatest impact on my life as a teenager n the mid to late 70’s. I did my final term paper in journalism class on Bon and that was early 80’s and w/o the information at my fingertips. Microfiche FTW baby! 🤘🤘🤘

No one was playing like Angus and then to top it off with his Chuck Berry guitar walk and all out crazy rolling around just capped it. You were blown away and a fan forever. ACDDC!! For some reason ACDC is best listened to travelling down the Highway on a Road Trip.

that's what it looked like, for sure. Angus running around the stage being the attraction, the *spectacle* of the show. the hyper guitarist in the school uniform getting noticed. you have to have the "spectacle" if you want to be "spectacular", and Angus got them through the door.
Malcolm kept them there, nailed to the spot with the best damn rock and roll rhythm guitar in the world. Malcolm's right foot was AC/DC's heartbeat, the band died with him, you can't live without a heartbeat.
the body is still twitching, but Accadacca are gone, it's just the nervous system shutting down.

Bon Scott was one of the greatest rock music vocalists and lyricists in the world in his era in AC/DC. One of the best parts of this video/film is at 11:21 when Bon addresses interviewer Ian 'Molly' Meldrum's insistence AC/DC should produce singles...I just love Bon's facial expressions and his insistence AC/DC is NOT a singles band...it is an ALBUM band...we're a ROAD ALBUM band singles don't mean a pinch to anybody you know in OUR band...there's no sense in them...' Bon Scott was a very intelligent man make no error. He knew the rock music industry business very well. He understood world/international music markets. He knew the difference in the music markets of both London/Britain, and Australia well and how it affected on AC/DC. So make no error Bon Scott had an excellent business head.

Somewhere l have a cassette recorded off the TV when Bon and Angus were on a local cable show here in Atlanta called 'The Entertainment Page' on WTCG which later became CNN! Hosted by the coolest guy in the world, who happened to be named Jim Morrison. This was Atlanta cable TV in 1978, bands that came through would come on the show and take phone calls and so on. Just a wonderful time. I think my brother is on there asking them a question. I remember Angus mumbling 'any women out there?'
Man, those were the days. Period.

Bonn was definitely the right lead man for ACDC. When you watch their 1st guy Dave Evans in the "Can I sit next to you vid" you can tell that he was more fit for the bay city rollers. His feminine moves are the opposite of what's needed for the Young bros. Bon was perfect, and you have to hand it to Brian for "Always" showing respect for him, and (in his shoes) it had to have gotten old as many times as he probably heard how great Bon was, but he always kept a smile. He's a dude that's comfortable in his own skin.
