"I've Got Holes in My Shoes" - A Bon Scott Film

  • 40 years on, wow. Vale Bon Scott
Bon Scott signed on to AC/DC as the frontman when their previous frontman refused to go on stage. It was through Scott’s checkered past and rebellious attitude that the band cemented itself as a raucous, crude rock group. Scott, who had been rejected from the army because he was “socially maladjusted,” brought that attitude into AC/DC. And it stuck.

Bon, to me…is right with Phil Mogg, Phil Lynot, Paul Rodgers, Freddie Mercury and Rob Halford are the greatest vocalists of at least the 70’s. Just looked up all of the songs that Bon wrote/co-wrote and the list is extensive…when you look at those songs, they fit perfectly with the lyrics on Back in Black. I am sure Bon had a massive part of writing the lyrics that Brian sang. Bon, I think, deserves most of the credit for the lyrics on BnB. Vocal tracks that you can listen to and pretty much understand what they are singing, w/o needing the liner notes/sleeve to read along with. Greatest impact on my life as a teenager n the mid to late 70’s. I did my final term paper in journalism class on Bon and that was early 80’s and w/o the information at my fingertips. Microfiche FTW baby! 🤘🤘🤘

Malcolm kept them there, nailed to the spot with the best damn rock and roll rhythm guitar in the world. Malcolm's right foot was AC/DC's heartbeat, the band died with him, you can't live without a heartbeat.

I'm not positive but I dont think we knew much about AC/DC until after Bonn had already died. I feel like they only really got huge in the US after BIB, but watching Bonn even now, brings a little tear to my eye, just to think of how much we missed out on losing him. Love all of the old original albums. I love Brian, and he was great on BIB, but there is no comparison between what came before that albumn and what came after.

Bon Scott was one of the greatest rock music vocalists and lyricists in the world in his era in AC/DC. One of the best parts of this video/film is at 11:21 when Bon addresses interviewer Ian 'Molly' Meldrum's insistence AC/DC should produce singles...I just love Bon's facial expressions and his insistence AC/DC is NOT a singles band...it is an ALBUM band...we're a ROAD ALBUM band singles don't mean a pinch to anybody you know in OUR band...there's no sense in them...' Bon Scott was a very intelligent man make no error. He knew the rock music industry business very well. He understood world/international music markets. He knew the difference in the music markets of both London/Britain, and Australia well and how it affected on AC/DC. So make no error Bon Scott had an excellent business head.

Hosted by the coolest guy in the world, who happened to be named Jim Morrison. This was Atlanta cable TV in 1978, bands that came through would come on the show and take phone calls and so on. Just a wonderful time. I think my brother is on there asking them a question. I remember Angus mumbling 'any women out there?'
Man, those were the days. Period.
No days after 1979 for rock fans.
