Your doing a great job, every time I turn on any of my radios I bought from you, I can sit back and relax, knowing they operate nice and clean, love the videos, thank you so much for your hard work, 73s.
Scott’s radios definitely sells a good product. If you’re a Trucker needing a radio I highly recommend his shop. His radios are extremely dependable. Your money will not be wasted because of some hack mod . You will get a good performing radio that will last. Buy once Cry once
I got a at qt80 from Scott’s . I run it with a Texas Star 500v. Now you can only but 2 to 3 watt carrier out of radio into amp to get 100 watt dead key. The radio swings around 12 to 15 watts which puts the amp at about 350watts which is perfect for the 4 pill Texas Star. Yes I can get a radio that dead keys 2 swings to 30 and get 500 watts but the radio sounds awesome with what it’s doing and the extra 100 and change watts doesn’t do anything anyway. I hardly turn the amp on lately I’ve been talking skip on AM with just the radio. I’ve been buying and into CB’s for awhile the qt80 is the first radio that regularly gets out on skip with just the power it does. When I do turn on the amp I of course make more contacts but barefoot is more impressive
Anytime u have a transmitter that is transmitting to wide ..and over deviating.its gonna have less range and the Amplitude of the signal is gonna be wasted because all the energy is being wasted outside the the occupied frequency... If your talking on chancel 21 but your transmit is half way into the adjacent well that signal will be less effective than a signal that's is within the occupied range of spectrum.. some of the stuff I see is ridiculous
Clean dont sell. 13.8 dont sell Non clipped modulation dont sell. Big swinging meters sell. Sad yes. Your really the only one doing it right and responsible.
I ask because I run the same exact brand I have a little different middle I have the 1204xe it's the largest screen scope they made in that series as well as one other and believe its the your running I also run the 8553 series spectrum anlyzer ..and the 8552b if RF section anlyzer ..and the analog 141 a scope ...along with another signlet multi channel scope 1202 ..series with the FFT. Diviation issue is what I seen on the spectrum scope .. .but great to see someone doing there homework..
iPhone vs Radio, Tool vs Toy, Pro vs Hobbyist, it's all good no value judgments. Newer radios largely machine made. Looking inside there's a nearly flat board from all the SMT, like my iPhone.
One big difference: With a cell phone, you are tethered to the infrastructure that allows communication between two persons. A transceiver will operate with an antenna and power.
That's pretty normal with any LCD screen radio. Once your vehicle heats up everything will be fine as you said. Everything works harder in cold weather.

You are spot on. Word for word.

It’s always good to find a radio that sounds good even if it’s not producing a lot of power. Fortunately these radios do well standalone.

I put mine in my pickup when it gets around 35° and under the screen washes out until the temperature gets around 50° inside very aggravating.

@ScottsRadios Thanks for the info. I feel better about it now I thought might had been something wrong.
