Fun fact: I thought it was just a playing of words but "Shell Oil" really started their corporation with a shop that imported and sold shells in the year 1833. That's where the logo and name comes from.

This song was written during lockdown. Hi Ren was written a couple of years later. The verse in Hi Ren where he mockingly says, "Ren we've heard it all before...She sells sea shells by the sea shore" is where this comes from.
I watched Hi Ren in mid January. I haven't stopped listening to his music and I have binged way too many reactions to his music. I love hearing different people's perspectives.

If you’re interested in how “rarer than a diamond” came about you should look into De Beers. That’s who started the diamond trend, diamond weren’t even the stone/gem of choice originally for engagements. It was a huge campaign. Great reaction though. Much love 🌺

Pretty sure "counterfit" is an intentional spelling. Meaning A) they're not "fit" or "right" to be in their position of power as they don't properly represent the people they serve, or B) they're not physically fit, which most politicians aren't. Hadn't noticed the spelling change until now, props for the sharp eyes
This is my favorite Ren song. Amazing. Should be required listening for all school kids. Teach them with this medium and watch them WANT to learn!!! A teacher once told me to buy my son comic books because READING IS READING, no matter what the medium. She said, "Who cares it's not educational? Do you want to make your son ENJOY reading or make it a chore he has to do?"

Few things you missed, REN’s playing off the old DeBeers scarcity adv campaign. There was no need to get engaged with diamonds before that campaign. And then also Shell Co actually originally started off as an antiques store selling oriental shells. Very factual and educating for us guys older than him. Keep it up 🤘

If you look at the Story of De Beers Diamonds they did just that, locked up all the Diamond Mines to control then created the concept of a Diamond ring to get engaged ( not as a wedding ring as there are more engagements than weddings lol ). So Demand rose prices inflated. Yes its the hardest mineral rock but its primary use was for cutting n grinding other rocks. Then look at Gold the softest rock became the basis to measure currency n exchange rates, but in the end it's all dirt just some is more noble than others.

The Chaplin clip is from the film 'The Dictator', and its one of the most impactful speeches in the history of film. I would urge you to watch it, truly beautiful, and the fact Chaplin was essentially a 'silent movie' artist, all the more powerful.
The most uncomfortable part of Money Game for most young people. Is Jordan Trainers. Most people know about the sweat shop factories in the third world. But when they bring out special designs, editions etc Its the best example of making things rare and making people f*ckin want em.
That's because consumers like that truly have no heart or compassion. Once people start standing up to these corrupt businesses we might start seeing some changes. Until then, we're all part of this old money game.
What will this people working sweatshops do to eat if they can’t work?
Nobody is arguing sweatshops are a good thing or even desirable but they may for many people be better than the alternative, which could be starvation.

That’s quite a complicated subject. If live in a part of the world where the average wage is a just under a dollar a day and working in sweat shop you earn two dollars a day you’re earning pretty well. If however you live say in NYC and warn 600 dollars an hour, it seems ridiculous. Then when you look at it, the person living in NYC is going to pay more for their apartment in three months than these people will earn in a lifetime. It’s all relative.

Ren has said to his distributer that any copyright claim should be removed just dispute it and it will be cleared. Ren WANTS as many reactors to share their views and his music as possible! As an independent artist it's the best way to get his music out there
The fraise (The Big Push ) Coupled with (Going over the top) are references to going into battle in World War 1, EG In the morning we are going over the top ( climbing out of the trenches, to carry out the Big Push) to capture the emeries lines or Trenches. This they did by mostly walking across open ground or ( no mans land ) towards incoming fire from rifle, machine gun and whatever else could be thrown at them ....Few survived .

Yes touching and you can see the deep thought out into such a style of stirring the thought process if you look deep enough either through the music or lighting or visuals tone of voice, all the elements you see & hear & experience in it. That was not a typo, but a clear call out of AI getting in the game. Counterfit is a tool "for assessing security" of machine learning systems. Or so it is advertised as. Ren is too intentional and deliberate with his output, he would not just let a simple typo slide

What I love and amazes me about Ren is his artistic versatility. He plays the piano, guitar and bass guitar, he’s an amazing composer and lyricist, he sings incredible, he raps like a beast and on top of that he has some incredible acting and expression skills . Ren is a top true artist not like those produced by the industry.
