What is your view of those promoting GAPS diet, almost like you shouldn't eat anything unless it is fermented and no amount of bacteria is enough, like you should have more and more and it is never enough.
The generally idea isn't so bad in term of eliminating difficult to digest foods like grains and dairy. The entire isn't to just eat fermented foods and probiotics only, thought that is one large part of it, which may be counterproductive for people with bacterial overgrowth. I also disagree with the nuts aspect and cooking with nut flours. So taking out the emphasis on fermented foods and nuts consumption, it's not too bad. Like Mike, I don't believe in any fixed diet, it has to be designed for the specific context of the individual.
GAPS intro was the only thing that truly healed my poor gut. After years of IBS and associated anxiety three months of Gap Intro healed me. I can eat whatever I want now! ( but I don’t!)
Off topic of video, but I am seeking clarity on the bioenergetic perspective of fat oxidizing being an undesirable mechanism. If that is true, then how does one lose body fat if not oxidizing it? Thank you in advance.
It isn't that it is undesired but excess is an issue reguarding closing down glucose oxidation and causing insulin resistance, slowing the metabolism down thus causing future problems... Concerning lossing weight, if you're metabolism is running well the baseline level of lipids released will be burnt of along with the glucose, and baseline release from the fat cells is around 100 ish grams per day. This means a week you will have lost around maybe 1/2 a pound... I know this sounds very little but after 12 month that is 12kg of fat without starving yourself and robbing you're body of nutrients. We have been driven to have no patience anymore... Furthermore to all of this is that the fat cells still require energy too, so they feed themselves from fat also thus shrink. Multiple other concepts come in here also with weight loss, such as if you have energy you are more likley to do things, visit family go have fun etc thus you release/use more energy alongside closing down stress hormones that drive weight gain. Anyway hope this helps clarify things.
Hey guys have you ever reviewed AthleanX advice on hige amount of protein and water? In his recent How to get lean in 2025 he is suggesting to eat like 1-1.2 g of protein not per lean body mass per pound which is high enough but per total body mass. How is this even possible? One must drink protein powders and egg whites with meals. Water intake from 3 litres onwards a day.
My gut is wrecked. I feel best when i don't eat, which is a problem. I did carnivore a few ago and it drastically helped, why do you guys think carnivore was so supportive?
Eighty percent of hypothyroid is caused by Hashimoto's, so they say. That's an autoimmune disease and probably would be good to know and treated accordingly; not just like hypothyroidism.
Chronic inflammation of the thyroid creates antibodies. Lowering the TSH and other offenders like estrogen, endotoxin, PUFA, cortisol etc should help lower antibodies
@@aspiresk8boarding I have Hashimoto's, but my TSH is 0.08 (quite low) and my free T3 is 4.6 (high). I have had my linoleic acid down to less than 5 grams daily for four years now. I eat mostly Ray Peat style. I just sent for the Grave's disease anti-bodies because I have had hyperthyroid symptoms for twenty years, undiagnosed until I just ran my own tests. At this point I don't know what to do. After being obsessed with a perfect diet for so long and studying so much I am too frustrated.
I never knew gut health was so important until I watched this. Eye-opening! 👀
No BM for several days. Must be because I’m experiencing a respiratory illness where my coughing is off the charts. Very stressful.
Cascara sagrada works better then antibiotics (in case of endotoxemia, runny nose, persistent coughing).
HaPpY NeW YeaR GUYS!!!!
Much love and happiness to You and your Loved Ones!!
Thanks, Happy New Year to you too!
Great info. You two are fantastic. Thanks.

Mostly because it’s an elimination diet
How about ivermectin and gut ?

I hear the word metformin I have to say, metformin depletes B12.
Sometimes Mike looks like he can't grow his hair, especially when he shaved his head.
Then other times like now, he has a full head of hair 😯😅🤩😎
