I think this is their most serious dance practice becaus this is the most difficult choreo they've done. There is a behind the scenes vid where Lia Kim (from One Million) is presenting the choreo and their reaction is "I don't think we can do this one and still sing live." But, of course, it turned out they could, but it took everything they had to master it.

This is one of the rare occasions where they are serious start to finish. If you want my guess, the ones that are like this are filmed when they are close to performing either for the MV shoot or their comeback stages so they are more focused. Whereas the others seem like they just got the choreo down and are having fun with it.

If you watch the Solar episodes of Boss in the Mirror filmed during AYA preparations, you see our beagledols as expected

Their dance practices for Egotistic, and Gogobebe (Japanese Ver) are also a "serious". But the Egotistic is one of my favorite (and Hwa Sa will wreck you during it, she is sexy af in it!

i hope you check out the project group that Moonbyul was in briefly, its called Girls Next Door and it had a lot of other popular idols like Seulgi from Red Velvet, YooA from Oh My Girl and Somi, who's a soloist. they only released one song, it's called Deep Blue Eyes and it was so good! i hope you can react to it sometime!

To be honest, I thought it was crown and it made me think crazy crown = crazy king/royal. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The lyrics say Clown but the dance is Crown. It's one of those things that, I don't think, ever got talked about and explaind. Maybe Lia Kim and JJ (the choregraphers) misheard the Lyrics and never changed it.

I think the line and choreo about “jumping like a clown” is like a wordplay, r/l sounds the same to koreans when the pronounce it.

Yup, this is one of the few MMM dance practices that doesn't dissolve into chaos and laughter. Wheein is definitely jumping like a crazy clown and I don't think there's necessarily a connection between the line and the dance move but clown hat works for me.
Your "rampant moomoo" comment inspired me to invent a story about a band called The Rampant Moomoos so I'll leave my serious comment here. Aya is one of their sensory overload MVs like Egotistic and it takes a few views before you can start to think about what's really going on in the MV. Things to ponder about Aya:
Why do they use an Arabian Nights set & costume design for a breakup song?
MMM was accused of cultural appropriation - is that a valid criticism?
Given the Arabian Nights concept why do Hwasa, Solar and Moonbyul also play bizarre characters that have nothing to do with the Arabian Nights but not Wheein? Hwasa as a dominatrix dentist, Solar as an Asian ghost with a unibrow, and Moonbyul looking like she wandered in from the set of a Robin Hood movie. Specifically, why does Hwasa smash the tooth gravestones with a pickaxe, why does Moonbyul shoot the arrow, and why does Solar stab the bowl with a dagger? Solar said the unibrow was inspired by Frida Kahlo - what's Frida got to do with the price of tea in an Asian ghost story? What do these odd characters have to do with a breakup song?
What are they saying about romantic love, or at least romantic love in this relationship?
Answering those questions kept me busy for weeks. I think Aya is one of their most complex and difficult MVs.

Would love for you to watch MAMAMOO's game here during Gogobebe era, and it has a Gogobebe dance performance, which also kinda answer the question of why the girls can't resist either joking around or to sing during their dance practice.
The game was totally expectantly chaotic, and even bewildered the staff. 😆

Any chance you'll react to Sky! Sky!
It's a bside song from their Red Moon album and there's always a friendly argument among moos who like and dislike the song 😅 I must warn you the MV is cursed 😂

I have a suggestion that you try reacting to the Chuang 2021 show, this is show held in China, and includes international trainees, after the show ends a group will be debuted. It's INTO1, please try it!

The clown/crown bit still confuses me to be honest. Lyrics show that it’s clown but their dance threw me off as well.
I can’t say for certain but I think a lot of their dance practices become serious after Aya, not a bad thing, but most of their usual silliness comes out in their channels’ longer dance practice videos.
Another great MMM Monday. Looking forward to next week!

It confuses me too. But I think the choreographer made it from listening to the song and not from reading the lyrics. Hence the crown action.

it's just a play on words.. it is "clown" but since koreans sometimes pronounces "L" like an "R" (in this case, clown to crown) they incorporated that in to the choreo for that particular line.

    • @hq3727
      @hq3727 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Rouge_Ice yes I agree with you. MAMAMOO (and probably their choreographers too) like to do word play/puns, like how they LOVE to put up 2 fingers whenever they have the lyrics of yi (hangul pronunciation for two) or tu (pronounced two), e.g. the choreo in Windflower. :)

I literally can’t even look at anyone but Hwasa in the Aya and Egotistic choreos.😩
