Happy New Year! I spent much of last night bingeing all your Mamamoo Monday videos and I’ve absolutely no regrets. I had fallen out of Kpop after the first gen faded but Mamamoo pulled me back in with their vocals and they kept me in with their wonderfully chaotic fun. I went to their concert in NY last year and that high faded with the sun during this winter season but coming across your videos really picked me back up. I’m not much of a reaction video person but honestly, watching you both experience for the first time all the moments that brought me so much entertainment is just brilliant! I’m so excited for you both to discover more of what makes Mamamoo so great.

Solar’s unibrow is an homage to the famous and colorful Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, who suffered in pain all her life from a bus accident in her youth, and was strongly committed to various leftist social and political goals. She had married Diego Garcia, who had an affair, for which she is said to have retaliated by having an affair of her own, and finally divorced. Her painting artwork and the horrible physical pain she endured while in pursuit of her art, particularly in the last years of her life, made her an international icon. Happy new year! 🎉
Aya means ouch in Korean, refering to extracting the rotten tooth. A note from behind the scenes: When Hwasa throws the dirt, that wasn't really planned and she nailed the camera. Fortunately no damage. Part way into promotions Moonbyul developed an RSI from the elbow strikes and had to adjust her choreo. Your mention of Kai makes me recommend Purple Kiss's dance and vocal cover of his Mmmh. The cover demonstrates their live vocals becaus is switches between having and not having a vocal backing track and finally turns of the backing track entirely.

When she's in the MAMAMOO MV My Hometown, where she visited her hometown Jeonju with her childhood bestie Wheein, and Moonbyul and Solar went to both their hometowns Bucheon and Gangseo-gu, Seoul respectively. NYE at home too. Blasting Mamamoo songs in the comfort of my home while watching our neighbors wasting their money and fancams of Mamamoo besties Red Velvet's Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy performing at our local city. 🎉🎉🎉
While this song is fresh in your minds, I recommend also watching Solar's appearance on the show "Boss in the Mirror". They happened to be filming the MV for Aya during those episodes. They look amazing on the MV but their reactions when they first saw the choreography were hilarious.
From Queer Punk, Jazzcore & Other Tales from the San Francisco Underground, the history of the underground music scene in San Francisco from the 70s to the 90s, which is the definitive work on the subject despite completely fictional (though partially based on semi-true stories of bands that were equally bizarre), we find this entry: "The Rampant Moomoos were an obscure glam meets punk band circa 1980. They dressed in a combo of leather and tutus and played weekly in a Tenderloin dive bar inappropriately named The Sound of Music to an audience of punks, winos, drug addicts and drag queens who were probably more attracted by the $1 Lucky beer than the band. The RMs were fond of song titles with bad puns and were most known for their punk opera Hell and a Toy, a retelling of the Iliad from Helen's perspective as a dominatrix with Paris as a nubile boy toy that climaxed, so to speak, with the pair cavorting rampantly (naturally) with a foot long orange dildo as the walls of Troy collapsed on them. This masterpiece of performance art was only performed once, however. The audience was enlisted to assist in the destruction of the walls, which were constructed of dozens of shoeboxes, and overenthusiastically threw empty and partially full Lucky beer cans and chairs onto the pile of rubble, the cast and the musicians. A couple of policemen happened to enter during the finale and, assuming a riot was in progress, called for backup and proceeded to billyclub and arrest everyone present. Charges of inciting a riot, assault and lewd behavior were eventually dropped but the Moomoos were no longer welcome in the venue and broke up shortly afterwards."
