My 1st Big RC Race in Over 5 Years!

- Three days of RC racing is a big commitment. Between getting ready, spending 3 full days at the track, and the cost associated with a big race like the Wilde Events WERC Series Race at the DieHard Family RC Park. This is a new series in just its second year here in the Northwest, founded and ran by world famous race director Justin Wilde. He's done an incredible job putting together a top notch series with fun extra classes and a great format! An 8th scale specific outdoor series was something the Northwest RC scene was definitely missing!
Between a growing family, and the amount of time and effort these big weekends demand, it had been probably 6 years since I've done a full 3 day weekend race like this. Luckily for me one of the coolest RC facilities in the world is only 40 minutes from my house and I was able to drive to and from the track every night!
I set out to put all 3 of my cars in the mains, running spec and open E Buggy as well as E Truggy. Which I did, qualifying 3rd, 6th, and 4th respectively. Main Event's would prove to be a bigger challenge as I encountered over heating issues in the first set of buggy mains and had to find time to reprogram the thermal cutoff out of my electronics so I could finish the long 10 minute mains. With a best 2 out of 3 format I was under the gun and I'd miss the podium in the spec tire buggy class by just a point while winning A Main #3. Engine issues took me out of an opportunity to podium in the Truggy class, finishing 5th overall without running the final main. I was really proud of how I drove in the open buggy class as it was probably the most competitive field I've ever been in. I went almost mistake free in A3, and was up to second at one point but just couldn't stay with the top 4 guys!
It was an awesome event, DieHard RC and Wilde Event's is an incredible combo when it comes to putting on a world class RC race!

Thank you for taking the time and capturing our piece of RC heaven. Great video buddy!
Anytime! It was a great event
DieHard is the BEST!!
Nice work Mr. Jason.. thks
Wow bro that was awesome
Thank you! Was a great event
My dad and I recently found Diehard RC together. He raced pan cars in the 80's and I did two years of nitro 1/8 scale indoor. After well over 10 years off, i had the itch to play with toy cars again. When he wanted to go to the hobby expo in Monroe this year, i knew he would get hooked again. We couldn't be happier at this facilty!
I can't wait to pack in that oval!
Great video. Subbed
It's a magical place! Everyone in the NW is lucky to have it
I think I met you two at Turf Tuesday
@@SavvyCK definitely a good chance of it. We came in mid summer and have been hooked ever since
Awesome!!
Chique pista 🏎🔥💥💨😎😍👍🏻🤛🏼
Nice vid!
Awesome track!!! I wish there was one in here Korea.
Special place that's for sure! Very fortunate to live so close to DieHard
Track looks sick. I moving to the west coast, I want to live near a track like this. I been checking out the Chico, CA area, but that state is so screwed up, guess i'll look into this area as well!
Sweet track and nice work
Thanks! Was a fast track for sure
Nice job Jason! 💪💪Also your vlog was very well organized.
Thank you! Appreciate you watching
nice Video Jason , but it would have been nice if you could have told more info about your electronics issues . I would be curious to know what you will do to resolve this. Keep up the good work 💪
Totally! Overheating... and since I haven't been racing much I didn't know guys like Tessman run their hobbywing stuff without thermal protection enabled. Live and learn and hopefully be better for it next time!
place is cool
Wow - you tried to give it up 7 times is 3 laps...it was crazy hot and lost a battery too in ebuggy.
Yep. I tried! Lol
Hey man. Great stuff as always. Do they have anything for smaller scale stuff for mini bs and such? Getting into RC but can't afford the 1/10 or 1/8 stuff. Having a hard time finding a small track in WA.
They have a mini carpet track but it's just an oval. Crawler stuff I'm sure you can run whatever you got... there used to me 1/14 racing in granite falls but nothing I know of these days. I really enjoy my LC racing mini Truggy but not really anywhere to race it. I'll do some asking around for you
Id like to see 1/14 buggies near me, like the team associated reflex b, gamma etc…but idk much about rc racing i just know i can afford those buggies, and i have a great time running them.
Just takes someone having a track at that point. Here in the NW it's pretty much 1/10 1/8 mostly for racing
They also configure the micro track to not be an oval. I've seen it as both
@@andrewchong1154 ya I've seen it as a mini off-road track too!
nice but im not a competitive type um more into groind vased aerobatix like my airborn helis and fixed wing 3d aerobatics stuff
We've all got our favorites right!
Great stuff as always buddy. Any advice trying to get my subscribers up? I just started a channel a couple months ago
I got a good amount from shorts... But the goal for me is good viewership on my long form stuff so id so do some of both! Shorts are easy and can mean easy subs. As far as in long form stuff I think it's getting viewers to stay on your video, not being too pushy on asking for a sub, and having enough quality content and consistency (which I think is the toughest part) that they make sure they want to see what you're putting out.
One thing I do is watch bigger channels, and see what they do at the beginning of their videos go keep viewers
A couple more things to do would be incorporate some words on screen early in video. Maybe try some voice over to either talk about your cars or products you use. What I've found is my informative videos tend to get better views.
Another big one is the thumbnail. That's the first thing they see so it's your first chance to make them want to watch your video
Awesome advice. Thanks. Really love your channel. Especially the track building and update videos. Been really cool watching your tracks evolving
Appreciate that!
"PromoSM" 💦
Not sure what that is!
Generic algorithm comment. Lol
Thank you! Lol
