I'm lucky enough to be one of the few people that get to instruct at the DirtFish Rally School outside of Seattle, WA. When I'm not teaching people how to drive rally cars I'm typically making something else go fast or building something to have fun on at my house. From RC tracks to Mt. Bike trails and Pit Bike tracks, I love anything with a motor! #AvantLink #1018225

I just got idea, its really good to first plan-out track in mini version on sand. You can mould wet sand sooo easily...
It's a good idea!
I’ve got video ideas, and if you are working on a car take a video and post it, it’s more content 👍
Sounds good, just been a slow winter
@ yeah winter just has rain and I think you get snow where your at which makes the track sometimes unrunable
@Outdoor-RC it's snowy right now but we don't get much. I actually love running this time of year because if it's dry enough the track is usually awesome. It's been too wet for like 2.5 months, so it's a bummer
Looks cool
Way-cool lighting. Awsome work, looks way fun. I'm definitely going to need some lighting before summer. Thanks for showing
Thanks for watching
Slick tires 😮😮
@@dronesdopedro good practice! Makes fresh tires feel like Velcro
@@TheRacinJason agree :) i asked you about lcracing and i got One. Bro its auch a fun car :) built my own track. Having a blast :) thanks for the advise
Awesome dude! Glad to hear that
Awsome track. Thanks for the tips.
Excellent driving. Looks like fun. Thanks for posting. What truggy is that?
Those are both Tekno ET410's
Sweet track
Thank you!
All these amazing videos then nothing in almost a year. What happened? Are you ok?
I'm still here! Flight school, and kids. And this winter has been brutal for 3 months. Been working on some shorts and have a list of long form stuff to shoot. I didn't get to race at all last year with school obligations. Done with school now looking for a flight instructing job and waiting for the track to dry to film some more stuff
@@TheRacinJason Glad to hear you are ok! Your videos are a great inspiration.
Appreciate the kind words! More to come
Your videos are underrated you should post more often
Appreciate that! I know I do... been a slow winter here. Two wet months and then a really cold one
What a feeling :D
Wicked track. Nice run👍👍
Thanks man! It's a fun layout
Damn so cool havn a backyard track
@@hismaximus904 might say I have a problem. I've built 4 tracks here, we mainly run on two of them
Looks great man🔥 What liquid mask did you use? And can you share the link of your other work , I would like to see and learn 😁
Here's one short... th-cam.com/users/shortsAiDcaOYBo7o?si=bIvCcBb61k_GEv-a
I don't post a ton of paint work cuz I don't do much honestly! But here's kind of a tutorial I did. th-cam.com/video/HV5p8HpdLSU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6zs06E-KUDgH-cOC
I use the bittydesign mask currently
I've got a 1/5 5b and almost 500 acres in wv to play with i want to make an oval with a hill climb if I can
Oh man! I'd go crazy with 500 acres! Enjoy
What’s that new dirt for?
Dug out a high spot! Added some nicer material back in
@ 👍
Did you have to use any clay?
My dirt has some clay in it... I wouldn't mind bringing some in but haven't gone that route yet. With all of our trees it will be tough to get a load of dirt close to the tracks, but it's on my radar
@ thanks
They called it guppy love. But it still smells fishy to me...
😂😂 segíteni akar … 😮🫠
😅😅
The best helper!
awesome
Please tell me you have a slash modified? Lol
No, 4wd sct
Which car models do you recommend for such jumps?
Really depends on the track you'll be running. My two favorite cars that are going to jump best are 8th scale electric buggies. Or my 1/10 mini Truggy, the Tekno ET410 are my two go to cars. The techniques in the video work best with 4wd cars
I like how you started out with, 'think about where do you want to land' and ended with; "Where are going with that landing?" I do love it so...
The 1/8th scale track has really good flow and looks like a ton of fun. I really like the way the buggy sends it on that step up jump. And the inside berm corner looks like the perfect spot to take the inside line and pass. Top notch back yard track. I’d pay $$ to race there.
Thanks man! Re did the 1/8 track and reversed the direction. Been a really cold and wet winter hoping to get out there when it warms up a little
Smoooth
Where is this at?
Snohomish WA! Diehard RC
Amazing sounds man and body is excellent great work 👍
One of those trucks looks very familiar… is this in Novi MI?
No sir! North of Seattle. But taken quite a few years back
finishing the race is most important. Followed by consistency (lap after lap, no major mistakes). Then speed (no small mistakes, blown corners. etc)
Have to finish for sure! Definitely agree with your breakdown
Great tips. Next time at the track, I will just focus on driving the line into the jumps, once I get that consistently, the next step will be to make the jump.
My back yard started with me testing atvs and dirtbikes and it left burms around the edges of my yard which i turned into a large offshaped oval track for my rcs. Now i just gotta commit and rip up the rest of the grass so i can put in some switch backs to use up more of the yard instead of just yhe edges. How wide should i go to race 5-6 wltoys 124017's at the same time? And occasionally 1 kraton 6s v6
Are the WLtoys 1/14 scale? And how big is the oval...
@TheRacinJason they're 1:12 yard I haven't measured but maybe 20-25ish tall x 30-35ish wide could extend that a few feet lengthwise if I include path and section on other side of it.
Ya those 1:12 cars should be good, 5 foot lanes are great on smaller cars like that... that's a small area for a 6s car though!
Damn mad talented bro!!
Thanks man!
Do these rc cars have a mini lawn mower engine??😅
Pretty much, basically a little weed wacker motor
Subies are not the ideal car in rallying anymore. Chassis is too big.
The last chassis was more planted... but dirtfish is partnered with Subaru so we run what they send us
Great video! How helpful has the water pump tool been so far? I've never seen one like this, really considering one for our track. Thanks!
It's definitely helpful... it struggles to pickup the last bits of the puddle but it causes a lot less damage than brooming out the whole puddle like I used to
They're sick bodies bro nice work! 👍👍
U got a sick track
Thanks man!
Waiting for Bigfoot to come outof the woods
You and me both... go viral for sure
how do u keep it from washing away?
Drainage helps but can't save everything... I add material when holes form from running and erosion
Thanks for a quality no bs video
No problem! Thanks for watching
Can’t wait to be in a class with you one day at dirt fish
Excellent video ❤
Nice
Thanks
Not sure if you remember but my old name is ptfs_kid if you don’t remember me go look at the vid called “can I catch him?” But anyways I finished my track and now I’m going to be getting a new truck that I can use for racing, it’s the traxxas max slash that’s I’m getting any tips on how I can improve my track like fixing the burns or jumps you can give me?
Dang you whipped it, I’ve never seen that with a rc car especially a race one
Lot of the young up and comers throw whips almost every jump. Turning the front tires and using gas or brake in a 4wd car changes the attitude drastically
That’s perfect for practicing
The torque just launches the car on that opening to the jump 😮😮😮
That looks absolutely amazingly
How much land do you have
We've got about 6 acres
