Hello Amara I've been watching your videos for quite a long time and learned a lot through your videos. And I just want to say I got my F-1 visa approved. 🎉
Hey 👋🏾
Congratulations 🎊🎉
I’m very happy to hear this.
Hi. Were you asked about your travel history and what was your answer?
Thanks for the experience, I’ll be starting my F1 application soon, hope I get the best of luck
Thanks for watching! Wishing you good luck with your application and interview process ☺
Your two most recent videos have just further stressed the point, that one just needs to be calm and confident in their answers, albeit difficult, during these interviews. Another really informative video. Loved it.👏👍
Calm and confident!!! This is it. Thank you for watching ☺️

Thanks Amara for this video. "Why Tufts?" or "Why this university?" What kind of information was Tufts sending you for you to feel that they actually cared that you should attend their program? I like how you responded to the question
Thank you. They just kept sending information about things I might not have known about the school (which I really didn't know). Things like different resources available to graduate students, resources available to international students, career opportunities etc. They even had a virtual open house which included a campus tour and social hour for admitted students. It was really nice and I felt like they cared.
Funny how I know those were just automated emails but it was obvious that they were trying their best to sell themselves to me as "the place to be".
Miss Osuji u look lpvely. Nice video to the point. Id lobe to knowbu better.
Wow, that was easy and smooth.
Congratulations. Please when making a video it will be good to put a subtitle. Please can I ask what's the name of your school
Hi Joy. Sorry I missed your comment earlier. Yea, I'll look into subtitles. The name of my school is Tufts University.
I just played back this video and others on my channel. I have automatic captions turned on for them so you should be able to see subtitles. Make sure you turn captions on while watching the videos.
Hey first of all congratulations 🥳 for your approval. Have a question, Do you know what the asterisks means below the picture in the US visa??

I have no idea what it means. I didn’t realize it was there until I saw your comment. Perhaps the internet has an answer for that??

Please make a video on the steps to applying for you PhD from Nigeria.

Thank you for your informative videos,
I have a question, do I need to greet the consul officer before the interview or I just stand there till the consul officer interviews me?
Just say ‘hello’ or greet if that makes you more comfortable. It sometimes helps you call down a bit before the interview starts.
Hi Amara have been following your videos esp for the fact that it's more detailed on US visa
The statement " it's hard to get Visa for USA and you can't get a good job as a student there" what can you say bout this?
If you prepare adequately for your visa interview and make sure you fill your application form correctly, it won’t be hard. People run into troubles when they start lying and/or trying to cut corners. Do it yourself so you’re sure what information is filled in because that will remain in your records forever.
For the second question, as a student you’re only permitted to work 20 hours a week during the semester and it has to be on campus so I guess that can be quite limiting.
I don't know what's wrong with my visa application profile for scheduling appointment. I have been trying to log into the profile for more than a month now, it keep showing that "your log in attempt as failed due to incorrect password or email address ". I still clicked on forgotten password, then i used the temporary password sent but still shows same thing...is there any help on that please?
Hi. I’m not sure what could be wrong but I know the website misbehaves sometimes especially during the day when there’s a high traffic volume.
I’d suggest trying to login sometime during the night (past midnight). If you’re not able to, try resetting your password again. If still no luck, then call the consulate’s call centre. I found +23412278955 as their phone number online.
They should be able to help you. If this happens to be the wrong number, I’m sure they’ll put you in touch with the right people who can help you.
Which hospital did you do your TB medical and the rest.. please reply anyone who knows the right process
I will be having my interview outside my home country , what should be the answer to the question “why didn’t you apply at your home country “ ? I was warned not to give an answer based on convenience or delay.
If you're resident in the country you'll be interviewing in then I don't think it's a big deal. If this isn't the case and you're travelling just for the interview then I'm not sure how best to approach the matter. I certainly agree with the warning you received about not responding based on convenience or delay.
Wait how long does it take to get your passport back, I heard that you go to the embassy before 3months to your school date
You’re allowed to apply for the visa 120 days before your resumption date. When you have your interview and get approved, you leave your passport behind and the visa is issued within 3-5 business days.
Hello, please what hotel did you lodge and can you please tell me the price range of their services, thank you.
Hi. I stayed at Beni Gold Hotel in V.I. I don't remember how much it cost right now but I know it was the most affordable option at the time. One thing to keep in mind is that they have different locations so if you want to go with them, be sure to pick the V.I. location and not the others around Lagos.

Hi! No problem.
I basically said that the school I went with was the only school that seemed to care whether or not I attended. When this response got the consular’s attention, I went further to explain that they tried to sell themselves to me and basically show why they’re a good choice for me. They kept sending emails with information about resources available to me as a student, etc.
On the other hand, the other schools just sent my acceptance letter and I never heard from them again.

Hi! Love your videos, very informative. Quick question- Since you live off-campus was your apartment already secured prior to the interview? Does it tend to hold weight in their decision making? I’m hesitant to prematurely pay for housing prior to obtaining the visa, however… I don’t want to jeopardize my chances (if it does carry weight). What are your thoughts on this?
Hi. No my apartment wasn’t secured before the interview. I don’t think this is a big factor in the outcome of the interview. If they ask questions in that line, they just want a general response of whether or not you’ll be on campus or off campus. Nobody expects you to already have paid for a place before getting your visa approved.
❤❤
Hey girl, kindly help with some sample questions asked in line with former degrees and under what circumstance they are asked. Also,is gpa of 3.something that bad?
If you’re going for a graduate degree, there are high chances that you’ll get asked about your educational background. In this case, just say what you studied up until now.

Amara, what’s your opinion on going for my visa interview in another country. Is there any advantages or disadvantages❤
If you live in this country although it’s not your home country, that should be fine. However, if you’re going to a different country just for the sake of it, it might be problematic. Is there a reason why you’re considering going to a different country?
@@AmaraOsuji hi, what if I study in that country alone. My family isn’t there
@@AmaraOsuji no particular reason thou, I heard there are greater chance in other countries than others
I believe there is a greater chance of visa approval. I don't believe it is easy anywhere but from what I hear from people that did it in Nigeria, they tend to grill you a lot harder, but at the same time people tend to be a lot nervous. I'm Nigerian, completed my undergraduate in north Cyprus and immediately visited the uk for holiday, I decided to apply for my f1 visa there to the USA and thank God it was a success. It was a smooth experience after series of prepping hard and being confident it played out well. My experience was different from what I saw people go through in Nigeria
Is the number of schools I've applied to important? I applied to one and got admitted, please wgat do you think?
I think you should find 2 or 3 more schools that offer your program. If asked, you can list these schools as part of those you applied to.
@@AmaraOsuji Alright, thank you ma'am.
Please did you live in delta when you were in Nigeria or Lagos?

@@AmaraOsuji can you tell them cos they have you the most scholarships and it’s the cheapest ( imo this make sense and it ain’t one of the generic answers)
@@abidoyemuhammedsalim2230 that can be a secondary reason. You shouldn’t give off the vibe that you picked a school solely because it is the most affordable option even though that is a very valid reason.
So, find something else you particularly like about this school and let that be your primary reason. Then you can add that it’s nice that they also gave you the most funding.

How many photocopies for each document is advised to make and take along?
One photocopy of each should be fine. Be sure to also go with the original documents too.
I literally can relate 100% to this video. I had my f1 interview a week ago while visiting London from North Cyprus(i'm nigerian)and i was asked similar questions for my masters program in business analytics; how many schools did you apply to? How many times have you been to the US? Why did you choose a master's in business analytics at this university? I explained that i was attracted to it because it is a flex program and that got her interested in what i had to say, i saw her (the visa officer's) face intrigued so i kept going. When i was done she asked "okay so who will sponsor you for this program?" Then and there i knew i got it😂
Congratulations 🎊
Happy to hear it went very smoothly for you.
Please can you explain what you mean by business analytics being a flex program🙏. I'm going for the same course🙏.

Hi. Thanks for watching. You can reach me on amyosujimgt@gmail.com
You got a full funding right or you had deficits?
I said it in the video. I was fully funded.
What advice do you have for self funded students?
1 - Make sure the bank statement you present is original/real.
2 - If you're not your primary sponsor, be prepared to convince the visa officer of the relationship between you and the sponsor if they're not your parent/immediate family member.
3 - Know what your sponsor does for work/their source of income.
In general, the big challenge for self funded students is proving the legitimacy of your funding source so do all you can to make sure there are no doubts in the mind of the visa officer concerning this.
Good luck.
@@AmaraOsuji hey. Sponser's source of income . Like, if my father is a doctor. Is saying, doctor enough or I have to show his identity?
@@amirman6531 I don't think saying he is a doctor is enough. You're probably better off saying what type of doctor he is and where he works. For example, "my father is a gynecologist at XYZ hospital". I don't think they'll ask to see an ID but if he's funding you, a bank statement will be required.
@@AmaraOsuji yeah. Do we need to show the proof about him working in XYZ hospital and his tax payment ? Some say, no need to show that bt some say we have to show it. What should I do?
@@amirman6531 I’m not sure about this but it’s probably better to be over prepared. So, go with all the possible documents you can think of just in case you’re asked for it. Better to have it and not need it than need it but not have it. I hope this helps.
I will like to have a one-on-one meeting with you
Had you paid your fees prior to visa interview
Only my acceptance fee. You’re not expected to have paid your tuition before going for the visa interview
I already have a bachelor’s degree and now I want to go study at a community college in the US for an associate degree. Do you think that will affect the issuing of my visa ?
It likely would because it doesn’t show true study intentions. The likely question running through the visa officer’s mind would be ‘why do you want an associate degree if you already have a bachelor’s degree?’

Hello, I heard there is now a delay in interview dates when applying for US visas as a student, and this may affect one's resumption date.
If that's correct, do you think the problem will persist till next year mid-march.
Also, do you know of any solution to this?
Hi Peter. Yes, there is currently a long wait time for interview dates but a bigger problem is that dates vanish within minutes of becoming available. Going by how things have been in the past, I don’t think this problem is ending anytime soon. Your best bet is to join groups where people post interview dates once they become available.
