This is my favorite music video of all time, just 100% genius from beginning to end! And it's always nice watching a reaction video to this from a reactor who actually KNOWS The Wizard of Oz and understands the references (you would not believe how many reactors refer to the Lollipop Guild Munchkins as "Oompa Loompas" or Mitch's Tin Man as a robot...AARGH). Todrick grew up with Mitch, Scott & Kirstie in Arlington, Texas. He was a few years older than them and went to a different school, but they all knew each other from local youth musical theater. After he became successful and Pentatonix's star began to rise, he was looking to do a project with his childhood friends. Scott had been trying to find a project for the group to do that would more heavily feature Kirstie, as she had been mostly in the background up to that point. The Wizard of Oz is Todrick's all-time favorite movie (several of his projects have Oz themes to them), so he put together this medley and video conception intentionally to give Kirstie a chance to shine...and BOY DID SHE SHINE!! During the last shot, just before Kirstie-as-Dorothy clicks her heels, you can see Scott give her a loving little "proud big brother" glance that is really heartwarming!
LOL The one reactor that got to Mitch as the Tin Man and was like "I've seen this guy before... tell me in the comments where I've seen him!" I turned it off right then. I just couldn't with that. Even just context clues, man!

That's what PTX does!!😂they have used instruments in several covers,but in general PTX is a vocal group.Kevin is a classically trained cellist as well as a beat boxer and singer.and Scott plays piano in some of his solo stuff,but in this video...its ALL voices ONLY as far as I know.✌

The behind the scenes video is on you tube and you should watch it. Todrick says Kirstie is one of his few friends that he never made dress up as Dorothy before. The whole thing is funny and several of the guys talk about how much fun watching Kirstie nail her roles was for them.

Such a wonderful homage to the original 1939 film, "Wizard of Oz," with Judy Garland. You can really see Kirstie, Scott and Mitch's musical theatre background here. Great reaction!
They were all Definitely friends... Todrick is from the same city as the trio, though a little older. Todrick and Pentatonix have a flashmob video where they busted out a L.M.F.A.O. medley in a men's bathroom (the security guard waits until they are done to kick them out 🤣), the trio were featured in Todrick's Black and White song, there's a video of Todrick crashing a small PTX performance to do a flashmob for Scott's birthday (I think at the a capella academy), a video of the trio invited onstage to bop around during a Todrick show and Todrick was actually on Superfruit's vlog quite a bit. No official Superfruit songs but they did a lot of random singing in the vlogs... I think my favorite was the condom challenge. It pops up in a lot of compilations for Mitch's vocal range. Unfortunately, the gossip is that they had a falling out shortly after the Black and White release. Definitely they stopped appearing together after about 2016.

Lol you know. After I watched the video I was like "well duhh!" 😂 but what I meant was that it was kind of more quiet than normal. It seemed even more stripped down with zero back up vocals or harmonies in the background just the sound of the cup flipping.
Yeah I know. I made a mistake what i meant to say was sort of a solo. That specific part was just her singing with only the sounds of the cup flipping. It was such a beautiful moment. I'm not quite sure why I said acapella to be honest lol. After I went back and watched the video I was like "what are you saying Septo" 😂
You mentioned that you liked that a capella section. Just a reminder that the entire video was done a capella. There are no instruments in the entire video.
