Just went through this process on my /6. I also opted for a home made tool rather than the expensive ones. Nice work!

Awesome mate. It makes so much more sense when its a tool that will probably never get used again 😉

I had to close my eyes when you packed the bearing 🤣 In future, put heaps of grease in the palm of one hand, with the bearing in you other hand and press the bearing into the grease and your hand forcing the grease in on all angles. 😉
    Dash is 🔥🔥

😅 believe me there is heaps in there it was oozing out! I'd defo go the palm way on wheel bearings etc but for the head I wasn't overly stressed for the rotation it gets

Beautiful work, love your style. I’m building a conversion myself based on a 96 r 100 mystic. Since I just ordered that Motogadget instrument panel I would love to get me a triple clamp like yours. Couldn’t figure out where jacks garage has his website. Can youn help me out?
    Keep it up

Awesome 😁 you can get the triple from Jas at jaxgarage.com.au as an ambassador you can get 5% off the total price by using my code if you go ahead. Use TWISTED5 at checkout if you need it. All the best with the build 🤘

Your square washers are the wrong shape. You need to grind them to just under the diameter of the headrace because the races sit against the shoulder which is under flush. You may be chasing loosening headraces until they finally meet the shoulders!

Hi Andrew, you must of missed it in the vid but I use the square washer to push against the old race which is sitting against the new race. This way the old race will push down into the headsem untill the new race is seated against the shoulder. If you watch closely you'll see the top set up first then I use the same method on the bottom. I prefer using the old races to drive the new in rather than trying to cut down a plate where the margins would have to be perfect
      Cheers
