Then she picked up a guitar at the age of 18, along with a book full of metal riffs, and taught herself to play metal. (The other guitarist, Midori, only started when she was 20. So there.) This is an absurdly gifted band. Oh, Miho didn't get pregnant, she did leave for personal reasons, but not that.
Asami sang R&B/soul previously. She also trained as a ballerina for many yrs. Miyako (dark haired guitarist) is a classically trained pianist starting at 3 yrs old. Fami (The bassist) has her own channel with close to 700K subs.
Take any one of them out and the band could easily disintegrate. It was probably close to doing that when Miho left, but finding Fami was a miraculous thing. M & M have a telepathy and a nearly symbiotic relationship on guitars---I don't see how the Lovebites 'sound' lives through one of them leaving. And Asami, whose voice DOES knock you out, is a huge part of the Lovebites sound---maybe the most impactful in many ways. And Haruna's double kick and cymbal work, as you said, is the foundation, Bottom line? Solution? None of them are allowed to leave the band until at least 2030.

I just wish I could understand her better without captions. I know that singing in English is challenging for a person who naturally speaks Japanese, and in other songs she comes across clearer. Maybe it was the just sound production on this piece, but I couldn't pick out the lyrics over the instruments. This allows me to put in a plug for Nightwish. I almost never have a problem understanding what Floor Jansen is singing. She just projects above the music so well!
One of their earlier songs, and it already showed off their incredible capability and songwriting maturity. Like all of their official MVS, they set the bar high and then kill it in live performances. Thanks for coming back to them, you should make it more of a habit!

I've seen other drummers twirl sticks before but my god there's just something so cool about the way Haruna does it. The way she does everything else, too.
Being that the music is so good, sometimes it's hard to catch that it has very inspirational and uplifting lyrics. They have a version of this song which Miyako plays piano and Asami sings with no other instrumental accompaniment. Lovebites EP II will be released on August 28th with 5 new tracks and "Memorial for the Warrior Souls" which this is from, will be released on August 28 will have 21 live tracks. They are keeping their alphabetical release protocol, they will be up to M.
I had been listening to The Warning the past few days, then came back to watch Love Bites. I think both bands are great in their own right, but the musicianship and elite instrument playing just seems to stand out more for me with Love Bites. These women are an awesome speed and power metal band!

Asami/vocals comes from a R&B/Soul/Jazz background and NEVER sang metal till she joined the group (she writes most of the lyrics and sings in English so she was a must for the band). Haruna/drums is a beast and her cymbal work is legendary. She drives this band despite no real shine time unlike Akane (Band Maid). Miyako/guitar and piano is a classical trained pianist since age 3, she pick up the guitar at 18 and self taught. Midori/blond guitar dropped out of college at 20 to enter a prestigious music school for guitar. Her and Miyako (a/k/a M&M) are polar opposites in personalities but blend together better than any dual lead guitars out there. Miho/bass the original member who founded and put this group together left for personal reasons. The new bass player is phenom Fami who is just as talented as the rest of the group.
Each members of LOVEBITES learn piano in her childhood. Asami and Miyako played piano on stage. In Japan it's commun to learn piano first in very young age and in second grade change for another instrument.

It wasn't during the Pandemic, it was before, as was already written, one week after Wacken W-O-A 2018 (I think, it was August 15th, 2018, at age 49). I have enjoyed every LOVEBITES reaction you two fine gentlemen have made so far, even if they have been liberally sprinkled with erroneous information. Seriously though, unless you do background research there are a lot of elements that make the personnel of LOVEBITES very easy to get confused. Rest assured there will be many comments putting you straight. A reaction channel that featured a drummer suggested that Haruna’s stick twirls served two purposes. Most importantly they happen when she is skipping a beat, making things a little different, and secondly, it’s therefore both an aide memoir and a little showmanship. Pregnancy wouldn't stop these ladies, in fact if you watch any of the performances from the 2021 live album (Heavy Metal Never Dies), Miyako, the dark haired guitarist on the right who played the piano, is like 5 months pregnant rocking out on stage. I've read other video comments about Lovebites music being too easy for Fami. Uh, that's not an accurate evaluation. I understand what you're saying, but Fami is a musical savant, or so it seems to me. I've listened to her album and particularly the song "Passion" ( I believe that's the title of one of her songs) and that looks easy for her as well. It's not, but when you have a gift, as she clearly does, she is playing and expressing herself in ways that most people can't quite comprehend, and music just pours out of her. Lovebites' bass lines don't require 'shredding' and double-thumbing and popping notes. Lovebites' bass lines requires a VERY close, off-beat connection with the drummer and a melodic selection of notes that propel the songs always in an ascending fashion.

It might not surprise you, that there are IMHO only two real versions (the original and her own re-recorded cover 8 years later), while there exist many cover versions of it, starting with Pat Benatar (very early cover), later Hayley Westenra[, Angra, and others. RIP Ian Bairnson, last month, his famous guitar was auctioned for just £21,000!

I am ALL ABOUT Lovebites this year, but I just don’t get “Rising”. It seems really disorganized to me without a hook-y chorus like Nameless Warrior. Even the guitar solos are at 50% (for a real back-and-forth between Miyako and Midori try Judgement Day) The piano piece, while nice, isn’t as well integrated as Swan Song… I guess not every LB song can be an unimaginably intricate Fabergé Egg of Thrash…

Being that the music is so good, sometimes it's hard to catch that it has very inspirational and uplifting lyrics. They have a version of this song which Miyako plays piano and Asami sings with no other instrumental accompaniment.
Lovebites EP II will be released on August 28th with 5 new tracks and "Memorial for the Warrior Souls" which this is from, will be released on August 28 will have 21 live tracks. They are keeping their alphabetical release protocol, they will be up to M.
I had been listening to The Warning the past few days, then came back to watch Love Bites. I think both bands are great in their own right, but the musicianship and elite instrument playing just seems to stand out more for me with Love Bites. These women are an awesome speed and power metal band!

As for Haruna, for me she is the No1 drummer out there today, ridiculously good and a genius in symbol work and breakdowns. @@dalestevens3332 Two great choices! Both songs are probably in the Top 10 of every LOVEBITES fan. Just a guess! Both can be called "master piece" on their own right without a shame.
Asami/vocals comes from a R&B/Soul/Jazz background and NEVER sang metal till she joined the group (she writes most of the lyrics and sings in English so she was a must for the band). Haruna/drums is a beast and her cymbal work is legendary. She drives this band despite no real shine time unlike Akane (Band Maid). Miyako/guitar and piano is a classical trained pianist since age 3, she pick up the guitar at 18 and self taught. Midori/blond guitar dropped out of college at 20 to enter a prestigious music school for guitar. Her and Miyako (a/k/a M&M) are polar opposites in personalities but blend together better than any dual lead guitars out there. Miho/bass the original member who founded and put this group together left for personal reasons. The new bass player is phenom Fami who is just as talented as the rest of the group.
Each members of LOVEBITES learn piano in her childhood. Asami and Miyako played piano on stage. In Japan it's commun to learn piano first in very young age and in second grade change for another instrument.

I believe it was a week after they first attended Wacken Open Air in Germany on August 4, 2018 that Miho's father died of heart disease.

It wasn't during the Pandemic, it was before, as was already written, one week after Wacken W-O-A 2018 (I think, it was August 15th, 2018, at age 49). The connection to the Pandemic is, that he, as a medic, could have saved many more lives. But he has died 1.5 years before that, much too early. He was also the one to introduce Miho to concerts, etc. One year later (2019), they've performed "Journey To The Otherside", written by Miho for her father.

I have enjoyed every LOVEBITES reaction you two fine gentlemen have made so far, even if they have been liberally sprinkled with erroneous information. Seriously though, unless you do background research there are a lot of elements that make the personnel of LOVEBITES very easy to get confused. Rest assured there will be many comments putting you straight. A reaction channel that featured a drummer suggested that Haruna’s stick twirls served two purposes. Most importantly they happen when she is skipping a beat, making things a little different, and secondly, it’s therefore both an aide memoir and a little showmanship. Haruna is not a flashy drummer (let’s face it she’s too busy) and I’m no musician, but this explanation makes most sense to me.

Nah Miho didn't get pregnant she left for other personal reasons. Pregnancy wouldn't stop these ladies, in fact if you watch any of the performances from the 2021 live album (Heavy Metal Never Dies), Miyako, the dark haired guitarist on the right who played the piano, is like 5 months pregnant rocking out on stage. Asami the singer comes from an R & B background originally. Anyways, nice reaction.

I've read other video comments about Lovebites music being too easy for Fami. Uh, that's not an accurate evaluation. I understand what you're saying, but Fami is a musical savant, or so it seems to me. I've listened to her album and particularly the song "Passion" ( I believe that's the title of one of her songs) and that looks easy for her as well. It's not, but when you have a gift, as she clearly does, she is playing and expressing herself in ways that most people can't quite comprehend, and music just pours out of her. Lovebites' bass lines don't require 'shredding' and double-thumbing and popping notes. Lovebites' bass lines requires a VERY close, off-beat connection with the drummer and a melodic selection of notes that propel the songs always in an ascending fashion.

I think Miyako gave birth not long before Miho left. Asami gave birth to her daughter in the summer of 2022, and soon after Lovebites started looking for their new bassist.

I am ALL ABOUT Lovebites this year, but I just don’t get “Rising”. It seems really disorganized to me without a hook-y chorus like Nameless Warrior. Even the guitar solos are at 50% (for a real back-and-forth between Miyako and Midori try Judgement Day) The piano piece, while nice, isn’t as well integrated as Swan Song… I guess not every LB song can be an unimaginably intricate Fabergé Egg of Thrash…
