Yes, it would have been nice if there had been home film cameras with sound in those days - I could have heard my father's voice narrating, as well as background noise. I think it was a couple of years later the first home cameras with sound came out for the general public.

There was no sound in home Super 8 films in 1969!!! And I had pretty much the only film cameras anybody in the West had taken into East Germany. And I leave it up to people more familiar with Berlin to volunteer describing what's in my films! I only vaguely remember having things pointed out by the tour guide, like the ruins of Hitler's bunker. You're all lucky to have SOMEONE document history!
