    I did a comparison between 2 x Chinese make trolling motors (same brand - Haibo)
    1) the manufacturer cost of the 54lbs was 22.32% lower than the 65lbs model (54lbs=$87 / 65lbs=$112)
    2) the thrust was 20.37% higher (54lbs vs 65lbs)
    3) the current saw a -14% decrease (54lbs=50A / 65lbs=43A)
    4) The rpm was also -2.94% lower (54lbs=1700rpm / 65lbs=1650rpm)
    *CONCLUSION* : The 54lbs was 22.32% cheaper; the 54lbs was 2.94% faster; the 54lbs had only 20.37% less torque!
    HAVING SAID THAT - One should compare price/thrust/power/current/rpm speed - these statistics tell an interesting picture!!!

    I've had the protruar 1.0 for 2 months now and have used it alot. I have to say that so far, this is the best trolling motor I've owned. I purchased this as new open box for a reduced price. There was no manual for it. That being said, I can't find an online manual either. Not as though I really need one now,I I noticed some features that are not referenced on there site such as a connect and disconnect beeper feature and if it hits something or gets tangled badly,it will beep and shut off. These features are awesome but I only found them by trial. I don't understand why this isn't mentioned in any of there descriptions. You would think this would be a great selling point.

      @@joaovictorf.carvalho458 I have mine on an Intex excursion 5. If you're not familiar with those they're fairly wide and flat,flat bottom and a round bow so they're not very dynamic but still get around 5 mph which I think is pretty good. If it was on a kayak or canoe or even an inflatable with a keel and pointer bow you'd probably pick up a couple mph more. Definitely a bit faster and more power than the Minn Kota 55 that I had on it and a lot lighter also. A bit more noisier though.

      Thks for quick reply, I know the intex 5, 5mph on it is very good, my boat its a costco tobin sport canyon pro for 3 person. I'm just starting, I have a minn kota max 40 and I'm thinking on upgrading on near future, Have you seen about people talking on using a rc airplane model propeller? Its the apc 10x6 if Im not wrong, it increase speed in 20% and decrease also the current. Thnx once more for the info

      @@joaovictorf.carvalho458 No I'm not familiar with the the rc props but I have put different 3 blade props on my Kota 55 and this protruar also. I've tried the kipawa 3 blade on my minn Kota and it's better the the 2 blade stock prop, has better speed and better in the weeds. I also tried putting it on the protruar and it wasn't good. It didn't balance well and lacked power. On the other hand, the motorguide machete 3 worked great on both of them but had to do a slight mod by adding a thicker washer.

    • @Aksmaniyak
      @Aksmaniyak  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have also owned a NV 55 lb trolling motor. They are a quality product. Kayak speed is based on many factors; hull design, total weight payload, weather/water conditions...etc. Increase in thrust does not mean increase in speed. More thrust will just get your kayak to the same top speed faster with all those factors. Most kayaks with trolling motors have an average top speed of 4-5 MPH. If your only reason to upgrade the motor is for more speed, it will not make a noticeable difference. I hope this helps.

I'm wiring a Jackson Cuda 14 and may use the front big opening for batteries or maybe the center long hatch. So might be 10-12FT of wire run. Also When you extended the head up to your seat what size wire did you use?

      No problem Chris. I ran 10G for the +/- battery extensions and it works fine. As for the head wiring, I do not remember what the exact gauge was. Watching the boat going in circles doesn't give you a sense of just what speed it can do. So that part of the video wasn't a .very helpful demonstration. I still have no idea of what speed it can push the boat.

    • @Aksmaniyak
      @Aksmaniyak  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was to demonstrate maneuverability. Most trolling motors propel a kayak between 4-5 MPH. It is based on many factors like, hull design, payload, wind/weather conditions. Speed with the same motor can be different from kayak to kayak so speed is not really an important factor.
