      I have a 7002T. It’s so loud that it shakes the floor under it and I physically can’t go anywhere near it (tbh I can’t even enter my room) when it’s going off and I don’t have any hearing protection on. I can’t imagine having tons of these in a building going off at once. those would make you cover your ears for sure if you don’t have ear protection

    Those 7002T's sounded amazing in there! Even if it was on FWR (though it would be raspier), I bet it would sound epic in there. I like the workaround to send filtered DC over to the Horn/Strobes (did this with my Monaco Vulcan 1 panel for a simplex strobe). Though I've seen the 7002T commonly paired up with the BG-10, the BG-6 is a really welcome addition to this test setup (there's probably a system or two out there with the BG-6 and 7002T's, probably installed more towards the Mid-1980's). Overall, nice test setup, looks and sounds great!

    My late grandmother's long closed furniture shop was full of wheelock 7002ts and simplex 9838s. Panel was a simplex 2001. Pulls were simplex chevrons along with fire lite bg10s that system was freaking loud. We did have a couple simplex 4030-2bs also. But those were in the stock rooms.

      @jcc3279 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL oh it made your freaking ears bleed that's how loud it was. Got your attention tho. I remember one time we had our Yearly Fire Inspection with the Fire Marshall and he had me activate the system i'm like you might wanna put some ear protection on. he's like it's not that loud i'm like your don't realise this system is a older system and i've got all electromechical horns. he pulls a station and reset the station. and he's standing right under a 4030-2B the reacation of the Ann Arbor, Michigan Fire Marshall was fricking priceless he's like Holy F***ing S*** that system is f***ing loud. My God D*** ears are ringing. as i'm shutting the system up via the Control Panel in my office. He's like that doesn't bother you in this small room i'm like I have a Wheelock Chime Strobe in this room the restrooms have Remote Strobes. the breakroom was a 9838 plus i kept the door to my office shut anyway as it had it's own heat and a/c thanks to a Mini Split. even though I had a ceiling vent connected to the lower level HVAC system.

    • @SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL
      @SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jcc3279 yea and for a comparison, 7002Ts are painful, but 4030s are MUCH louder. They’re almost as loud as an adaptahorn which is so loud that you would need like 4 of them to cover a large school. Also the Fire Marshall’s reaction was funny. He probably doesn’t know much about how loud are older AC vibrating horns

    Strangely enough, I still see these vintage alarms being made...but not for fire alarms.
    I work for the TX. grocery giant, H-E-B, and they typically use..."modern" 7002Ts with dual or tri strobes (one marked "door", one marked "leak", and one marked "help") on their walk-in freezers in their stores. I almost usually see the "door" strobe flash, but the horn doesn't sound right away unless the walk-in is left open for several seconds.
