I hope you enjoyed this video! There's a whole bunch of other accessories that I have but they are focused on productivity instead. Anyone interested in that vido? 😀
e r g o j o s h Thank you for sharing this, I actually was on a hunt for a better stand for my ipad pro as I tend to have a heaveir hand when drawing and the ones I have tried all tip over! Would you mind sharing a link to where I could find the last stand you mentioned?
Creepy Waffles not gonna lie. The iPad Pro pro is awesome in every way possible. From its design to its processing power and everything in between. Well, that’s aside from the fact that I managed to make the screen freeze a few times.
Baqir Mk it sounds so cool!!! But I honestly love the 9.7 but I agree that the pro is the best one. The 9.7 is the size of my sketchbook so I’m used to the size. But hopefully in the future I can upgrade. Well good night! Or day where ever you are! 😊
Creepy Waffles well I haven’t bought the Apple Pencil because the iPad Pro sucked my wallet dry, and college is demanding and expensive. So unless I’m capable of living with only one kidney, I don’t think I’ll buy it till next year. So I haven’t experienced drawing with yet. But I’m sure it would be wonderful experience. I mean I had my worries and doubts before buying it while watching many reviews in YT, I mean It looked small in their hands and could almost fit in one hand, not because it was small but because their hands were so damn big. But after going to the store and seeing it with my own eyes made me realize it was just more then perfect for my small hands. Idk why it took me 4d to see this notification but thanks for the reply and it happens to be night rn here so thanks again and have a nice day or goodnight wherever you are.☺️
I don’t mind the slippery glass of IPad Pro - maybe even prefer it - but I’m very tempted to buy a matte screen protector just for those sound effects 😂
I got one but ended up taking it off because the grainy screen isn't worth it, the naked iPad Pro screen is so beautiful and it's a crime to butcher it like that. Plus, it doesn't help making art, if anything it hurts because it's harder to notice small imperfections / mistakes.
@@ES-ex5it Dude buy the logitech slim folio. yes its bulky compared to apple keyboard. but it has the entire function bar and it provides much needed protection if you are not great at item handling. My parents sometimes grab my ipad so I switched over to the logitech. You know its good when even apple.ca is selling it on their OWN website!
Great review! One thing about Paperlike (I love it) - Apple Pencil Nibs rub away very fast while using this screen protector because it's well - paperlike, matte. I don't know if this happened to everyone but I think it's an important thing to say.
The matte screen protector is rough. It’s like sand paper so of course it will wear down. That made me decide to just stick with glass. I’ve had the original tip for two years. I’m always wondering when I’m going to use the other tip that came with the box
Two recommendations I would like to add are the Zugu iPad case. Extremely sturdy! A bunch of great angles for viewing and drawing. I've had mine for two years and it's great on the go protection as well as sturdy enough for me to draw on. I also have a Roost Stand, which is crazy light weight and strong and super for when I want some height when drawing (if the desk in my hotel room is too low or something). Thanks for your video. .
would love to see an Art Studio Pro vs Fresco vs Procreate vid from you. I personally use Procreate myself but kinda wanna see how the other two stack up against it. or maybe just separate vids of you drawing ing those programs and talking about your experiences
I enjoyed your video. I would like to add that Paperlike is coming out with a new version of their screen protector. It is supposed to be clearer that the first one.
im not that good yet, but i mean im only 14 and have so many years of improvement ahead of me. i have already seen drastic improvement from 1 year ago. Digital art is really hard tho. (i don’t have the pro because its really expensive. i have the ipad 7.) you are a huge inspiration to what i would like to become. 🙂
I just got the pencil grip for my apple Pencil , it has saved my hand from some excruciating pain. I bought both styles the bulb end and the type you have ,I much prefer the thinner style it's just a good fit for me. I'd highly recommend that to anyone who draws for long periods of time.
I suggest buying iPad case with a cover, because some of the covers have little rubber that you can place your iPad at different angle. They usually have 2 angles. One is higher and the other one is a bit lower. So it protects your iPad and also be like a stand.
I’ve been using a plastic 1 dollar stand for my iPad, it’s plastic, has more than 5 drawing angles, it folds and fits in my pen case, super sturdy and never failed on me once...
The cheap case for the pencil(not really a case) I use is just a muji plastic case thing. It fits the pencil in at an angle and I just let the other things sit in it. Probably not very good for the pencil but as a casual artist on a budget it does the trick!
I love the Zugu iPad cases. They have super strong magnetic stand angles in a wide range of angles. I still have an iPad Pro 2nd gen and 1st gen pencil size I have a little rubber thing that I can put on my pencil that also holds the cap. You can get those on amazon for about $5
The only difference in equipment that I use is a grip handle. Right now it’s the Bracketron grip handle, but it blocks the charging ability of the gen 2 Apple Pencil.
My sis just got me an iPad and omgosh, Josh, I'm so excited! Will get a art glove, having seen this. I do like a glossy drawing surface though, but I want to be kind to my art device!
Apple Pencil 1st gen also works on 2nd gen iPad pros. That is a third gen iPad Pro, with the fourth one bring released the other day! I like the list, wish I could buy it all!
I have a removable screen matte screen protector. For anyone who prefers it for drawing or writing but hates the grainy screen quality while doing other things I highly recommend it? I believe paperlike has one but I just bought a cheap magnetic removable one from Amazon and it works perfect.
i use an ikea stand that my mom bought long ago and it works pretty good. it's made out of wood and pretty adjustable to three angles (wish it had more) but works okay
Sketchbord Pro is the best iPad stand I’ve found for professional artists and it’s coming out pretty soon! Another good one is the Elevation Lab DraftTable which has been out for some time.
Something I've strongly considered, based on skillshare classes I've watched, is just using my iPhone, and iPad Pro to upload speed paints and such. Procreate tracks your steps, so you can edit that and with a keyboard, and using my iPhone to just upload voice over to the cloud, there's not much else I'd have to do. I wondered about that logitech keyboard, but was leaning towards the official Apple wireless, hadn't yet decided. I like the idea of a stronger laptop stand as opposed to most of the tablets, I'm heavy handed AF.
Wow thanks for that stand recommendation. I’m definitely going to look into that. For apple pen grips... I had a Pentel energel pen that ran out. Just for fun I unscrewed it and removed the grip and to my total delight and surprise it fits perfectly on the Apple Pencil! $3 pen from staples with a compact grip, and it has some really fun shades too. ATM I use two for better coverage on my Apple Pencil. Btw I don’t recommend the zebra Sarasa. Those pen grips are glued on. I haven’t managed to remove it successfully yet lol
I'd suggest the Moft invisible laptop table for a stand. It's quite small for a laptop stand and but it sticks prefectly at the back of the ipad and folds flat when not in use so it's like a perfect stand on the go, at least for me. Also it's very minimal, and just as thin as the camera bump of the ipad itself. You wont even notice the stand it when the ipad lays flat on your table when youre not using it. I use it with my 11" ipad pro but I'mpretty sure it'd do great for the 12.9" too. :)
I have 2 questions 1)About the stands, will any laptop stand work?,because on wish i found a laptop stand with a mouse stand, which i will actually use because i am planning to use it for school, and with the new ipad os it would work. 2)Does the pencil nibs that come with the stand work for the apple pencil 2 or no?
This made me buy the Nulaxy stand and I LOVE it, it’s everything I’ve ever wanted from a laptop/tablet stand. It’s great for drawing on my iPad Air but my Wacom One has a broken leg so I mainly use it for my Wacom. Amazing product and I’ve already gotten so much use out of it. Thank you so much for this video!
Some good products here, though I'd say it's not worth buying official smudge guards. Some cheap thin winter gloves with the thumb, index and middle finger cut off work just as well and for 10% of the price.
might wanna check monocozzi leather case. The cover can be folded and act as "stands" with angle I come to love for drawing position over the past 2 years.
Hello - I bought the nulaxy stand you recommend here. I agree it is sturdy and holds the ipad well at many angles. It is good for getting an angle for drawing. Yet, it is not ergonomic for use as a desk stand to place the ipad at a correct height to avoid cervical strain because it does not raise up high enough. I’m about 5’6” and it is too short for me to use. Still on the hunt for something lightweight that folds for travel to use for a desktop stand at the correct height.
Did you ever find anything for your height? I'm about the same height as you and have the same issues with my current stand (I end up putting it on top of a box)
another big drawback to a paper screen protector: you will go through nibs much much faster, since there's a grit. And with the official apple pen nibs cost of $25 (CAD), it might be more cost effective to just buy glass/"clear" screen protector and get used to it. Though if cost is not an issue, then go for the matte protector!
I'm confused. You said that ipencil 2 works with your "2nd Gen ipad pro" (1:06). According to Apple, the ipencil 2 only works with ipad pro 3rd and 4th generations.
Hello. There is new paperlike 2.0 that dont lower the quality of image so much. And the best stand for artists will be Sketchboard Pro. Both you can find on kickstarter now.
I absolutely love your channel! I discovered it just recently, and having watched just a few videos, I can already tell I'll learn a lot by watching you work, and the positive, welcoming vibe you have makes it also enjoyable to keep watching more.
OOH !!! This is really thorough, since I'm considering buying an iPad pro (12.9 inch, latest version) but while I keep raising money for it, who knows what the "latest version " will be and what software and accesories.......Ah time and money..........
I think I'm alone when it comes to glass over the paperlike matte screens. I've been doing digital art for wayyy too long I just don't like how the colors wash out when I do quick edits for pictures
Shortcuts, I don't understand why there no product for iPad that resembles anything close to the Wacom shortcut keys on the side of their drawing tablets. I really think this would be the #2 most important accessory after the pen for artists. A mfi programmable Bluetooth shortcut tray would completely win me over to using iPad exclusively. Its been on my mind a lot.
Thank you for recommending a glove! I draw with Ipad pro 12.9 without a screen protector and I thought it was a wee it oily! I love the suggestion, I will hopefully order it soon if I am NOT LAZY.
Sir, while watching your detailed & very helpful video, this thought comes to my mind: all these accessories, all this stuff, isn't it an enormous pity when you don't use them when they're trash & then they go on a one way trip to a dark corner in a drawer or to the garbage bin?
If i choose to use the glove over a matte screen protector, which kind of screen protector would you recommend? I’m afraid i’ll pick the wrong one that might make a noticable gap from the surface to the monitor itself
Bravo for this fantastic video ! I would like to buy a stand for my 12.9 iPad Pro. You've presented all of these products very well and I'm hesitating between two models : the Parcslope and the Nulaxy. Do the two small supports at the bottom of the Nulaxy (allowing the iPad to be carried) not hinder the drawing hand? I am also an Illustrator myself and it is very important that the drawing hand should not hit one of the two supports. The advantage of this model is that I can put my iPad in other positions than the one for drawing. Thanks again for this very well documented video.
I hope you enjoyed this video! There's a whole bunch of other accessories that I have but they are focused on productivity instead. Anyone interested in that vido? 😀

Between the Nimbegrip and Nimblesleeve, why did you opt for the former?
If i choose to use the glove over a matte screen protector, which kind of screen protector would you recommend? I’m afraid i’ll pick the wrong one that might make a noticable gap from the surface to the monitor itself
Can you recommend a pack which I can put all the accessories nicely to bring to school or travel
I *might* get an iPad Air for Christmas
i want to buy a new ipad and i want it for drowning and for using it like a normal ipad.. so does the matt screen goes well with normal using?
Is the Apple Pencil case no longer available? I didn’t see it on the Amazon list?
1:50 BEAUTIFUL! A true masterpiece! I’ve never seen anything this stunning! XD
I use Draftable stand mady by ElevationLab and I love it... I think you would like it as well... you should give it a try :)
Jakub Lang I love that stand too. 👍
The drawing in your thumbnail is sooo nice👌! Can you make a background tutorial like that?
