Keywords are SO important!! I had these boots that weren't selling for a few months they were a vintage brand so not much activity on them, so I added witchycore and witch boot to the description and that day I got an offer!! Yay!

Hi Kathy! We did share quite a few very trendy keywords here - cottagecore, boho, gorpcore, witchy, etc. All of these you can begin implementing in your reselling business today!

There are thousands of different clothing brands and types of clothes all of which have their own “trending” key words. You need to do your own research sometimes. Can’t rely on everyone on TH-cam to figure out what clothes you have and give you the keywords you need.
Girl shut up you’re embarrassing yourself; if you couldnt derive any knowledge from this beautiful couple that wishes not to ruin your life and are clearly not looking for human skin and therefor putting you in any danger of being their next skin lamp, which ACTUALLY ,obviously, its quite the contrary. they clearly rock. look at how much they love eachother. I see that you need things to be real descriptive, because you may be one of those Sheila’s whos parents couldnt quite get you to stop touching the stove so anyway im going to fix this issue for you, I’ll give you some damn keywords that will sell your whole wardrobe in one week which means you wont even have to source inventory which is great humanitarian work for you to partake in. This is not meant to be a "negative comment," but rather feedback so you can improve and keep us watching. There was so much repetition without much solid information or examples. I was watching at 2X speed and then gave up after a while. I'd love to watch a succinct video where you get right to the point and examples. I did glean one thing here that I didn't think of before, and that's to check current retailers for their keywords. So thank you for that tidbit. Also, do you have links to your stores? I'd love to see your inventory. I love the art-based pickups too. Take care.

In the video, Sean and I have quite a few examples of keywords you can start using today for your reselling business and I hope those were beneficial for you! We also titled this video "How to use keywords..." because our goal for this video was to give an overview of what keywords are, why they're important, how to use them in your listings and sourcing, and some examples. This video was not meant to be a deep dive by any means.
Also, we both completely understand if our presenting style isn't for you - or a lot of people for that matter. The great thing about the reselling youtube community is there are so many resources and awesome creators that may better match up with your learning style or preference of watching.
So glad you did take some golden nuggets away though! Our entire business has been built off of taking small tidbits from everywhere and forming it into what works best for our business. :) We do not have any public stores as we mostly sell on Whatnot and wholesale to other resellers and thrift stores around the country.

That would not only be massively valuable to the viewers per minute dedicated to the research. But would also massively grow your channel.

This helped me feel more confident because I pick up a lot of obscure vintage clothing or ones with no brand, but they're beautiful clothes. But now it's just learning the keywords!

We mostly sell wholesale to other resellers and stores across the country who DO list these items on platforms like eBay, posh, etc. and are sellers on whatnot as well where a lot of these pieces also end up! I would also watch out haul videos if you’d like to see examples of keywords relating to items :)

Cottagecore & boho seem to not work for me anymore but I don’t sell on Depop nor Whatnot. I don’t sell wholesale either. Are there alternative keywords I’m missing that apply to selling individual items on Posh or EBay? Witchycore, gorpcore, capsule wardrobe & beige aesthetic worked for a bit but are declining. Maybe they will pick up after summer. Thanks for the info in this video ❤❤

Those keywords are still VERY strong across all platforms - including eBay! It just depends on the item and also using the keywords in conjunction with other strong keywords.
There are dozens upon dozens of different keywords for so many different styles and trends. I’d definitely recommend as I mentioned in the video doing as much research around keywords as you can - they are definitely the foundation for our entire business.
Bethany, do you feel like keywords sell things even if you don't have a "business" well established? I feel like I use keywords decently, but I still have not been able to sell most of my style-based clothing. Do keywords matter more on certain selling platforms?

Also, the title of the video is “how to use keywords to sell thrifted clothes online” - we never promised a comprehensive list of keywords. (although we do offer a comprehensive presentation + weekly recorded deep dives on keywords, trends, styles, etc. in our private group for resellers!)
So much of what we’ve learned with keywords has been from doing countless hours of research and experimentation, and in the video we have several examples of how you can start researching keywords as well :) thank you so much for your comment we appreciate you!

Hi there! We mostly sell on whatnot and wholesale to other resellers who list on the platforms and stores now. We have dozens of hours of full deep dive breakdowns in our reselling mentorship group, and there are also many many free resources on TH-cam and instagram from us and other resellers with more breakdowns!
So basically, just study, research, and listen to other YT, let knowledge be your weapon. I was expecting this video to be more informative in the keywords versus just being encouraged to use them and how it's helped your business.

Do you think it's wise to look for cabincore heading into fall?
Hi! It can definitely be something to look out for and utilize in certain styles - a combination between that and “grandpacore” can make for a great combination too! One example is I looove sourcing vintage grandpa sweaters into fall and winter and that’s definitely in the venn diagram of both.

Hi! To keep an organized title structure, having the word “unbranded” won’t hurt you. You definitely can start it with one of your keywords instead, either way I would just make sure to use as many strong keywords as you can possibly fit in the title!
Great video guys! I needed this to challenge me on the sourcing part. I tend to be very brand driven, but have keyword knowledge.. but so many brands that used to fly are too oversaturated. Sourcing based on style in important! PS I think yall balance each other perfectly, haters gonna hate 😅

My only question is...the best keywords go into the title...when you list the other keywords do you use a hashtag or no?
Hi Kimberly!! Great question! The strongest keywords will go into your title (as many as you can for depending on the character limit) and the keywords you couldn’t fit we would definitely recommend putting into your description or tags depending on the platform. Thank you for watching!

Question! Are the keywords are used in title only or description? If the title is full, the keywords is enough in description?
Hi there! You should fit as many of your STRONGEST keywords as possible. Whatever you can’t fit, I’d also throw in the description for good measure!

Hi! There are SO many great platforms - it really depends on your goals and how you want your business to look. I’d look into the biggest platforms and see which one you want to start with (personally, I’d recommend eBay as a starting platform to master if you’re going traditional reselling, if you’re going live, I’d recommend whatnot!)

Hi! We mainly sell on whatnot and wholesale clothing to other resellers who sell on eBay, Poshmark, depop, etc. We do have a small eBay store where we list our higher end items and like to keep it private for eBay algorithm reasons haha.
