Damn bro! I remember stumbling on you right when you came back starting your second dread journey and I decided to take the plunge with you! Im happy to see you have not cut these ones out all things considered... nor have I! I am happier with my hair now than I have ever been and its longer than I have seen it before. All these years man! Keep it up!
glad to have you back man. I'm currently growing my hair back out then I'm going to get dreads and back when my hair was long it was so hard to gind out how to get dreads as a white person but then I found out about you and the rubbing technique basically what I'm trying to say is thank you showing me that it is possible to get dreads with my hair type and once agien glad to have you back much love mate
my 2 cents if u have the time: 1. all humans once they reach puberty experience SOME degree of hair loss throughtout their lives, the significant factor is how much relative to other people your age. 2. the pattern of your hair loss is genetic MPB. the activities that you stated in this video have probably accelerated the process, but it is impossible to know to what extent unless you have a twin or clone without dreads to use as a benchmark. 3. it is unlikely that you will be able to significantly regrow the lost hair, but you can probably decelerate the natural process by eliminating the stress factors you identified and removing your frontal dreads. trying to maintain or regrow through natural/ medical treatments is not worth your time, money or mental energy imo. keeping your scalp (and the rest of your body) healthy is the best thing you can do. 4. acceptance is key - maybe consider going for a style like Jiří Procházka, he looks bad ass. all the best take it easy brother
Gelatin supplements are said to help strengthen and make hair happy. It’s pretty affordable and may be worth a shot. I had a couple sets of partial dreads in the past (loose front, dreaded everywhere else) because I always had a bit thinner hair in the area you addressed in this video. I’m now 43 and I have more recession than I would like but I’m considering dreading up one last time while I still can. It’s such a beautiful style and no two sets of dreads are the same. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re awesome.
Try sulfur my man. That was happening to me years ago when I had just regular long hair (I think because of sparks and slag hitting my scalp at a previous welder helper job) and I noticed that, after I got a job at the sulfur plant, my hair line was back to normal really fast (that stuff was constantly floating everywhere in the air there and it naturally gets everywhere; on your clothes, skin, hair, scalp, sweat pores, etc.). I then looked it up and apparently topical sulfur helps stimulate hair growth. But then again you obviously don't want sulfur to get in your dreads and get stuck with that smell (trust me, I recently used Sulfur8 conditioner for a scalp problem, and it was a bad idea. Still have sulfur in my dreads even after 3 good 20 minute detoxes), so I would maybe try MSM applied to the area. Not sure if it's as effective but it is a non-stank form of sulfur. Also, with MSM you can use it both internally and externally for maximum benefit. I know this video is a little old. Did it ever grow back? BTW, you're one of the people who really inspired me to get dreads about a year and a half ago and your towel rub technique is what I started with. Cheers!
Hey great to see you back! I followed your vids a few years ago, started the towel rub but decided to shave it at sideshow Bob stage… So haven’t got dreads yet, tho now have longish hair again so… Anyways my hairline started to change when I was going through a stressful time. I started taking iron supplement (Floradix), massaging my head with coconut oil and of course addressing the stress! It’s much better now. I remember going to a talk about traction alopecia, could be this? If so, I’m sure there’s loads of natural ways to help heal your lovely head! Peace and love
Hey man, thanks for your support and views. the sideshow bob stage is a very messy and unruly phase haha. I glad yours has got better now. Interesting I never thought about stress, thanks for your help dude much appreciated. Good luck with everything Peace and love
hey man youre a huge inspo for me starting my dreads too. youre a good looking guy and could easily rock a shaved head. maybe buzz them off and see if your hair starts to grow back without any of the stress and maybe start your 3rd set if that works out? good luck dude
hey dude, thanks for your comment. I have thought this already about shaving it. I am going to try a couple more things first before i shave. As I have 6 years under my belt haha. We will see :)
We going to get another review on your locks hear my guy because I've been waiting a year to see these shifts and I still ain't got nothing and you inspired me so what's going on buddy you got me clueless
It could be the fact that your hairlines get too much tension like with hats as you said, it happened very often, also overrubbing won't help too, maybe that's the combination of all these things that speed the reseeding process ?
sup dude, so I had the same problem you are facing right now... I think you did it to yourself, in my family nobody is bald yet I have same hairline as you. I had man bun, braids, pony tail, dreads and all kinds of hairstyles that damage your hair... I honestly dont think any avocado oil or anything similar will help you, my advice is to accept your hairline as it is, have dreads and enjoy them despite your hairline. when you get bored of dreads cut em off and grow large beard you will look sick. anyway good luck
hey dude, thanks for your comment. You might be right man, I am going to keep enjoying them for now and will keep trying different things until i cant be at peace with it! peace
no history of male pattern baldness in your family doesn't mean you wont go bald. its literally genetic lottery and if your dad, uncles, grandpas have hair, you can still go bald
Hi man, good to see you after all this time. I watched all your video when I was starting my dreads , I am a year in now and loving them. Can I ask you a question about the washing and maintaing off your dread's?? I have been washing my hair with dread soup every two weeks...
@@johnfloydman7735 I wash my hair about once a month now a days unless I get really dirty. I would recommend washing every 3 weeks ish unless your hair is super itchy or dirty. I stopped using the salt spray regularly after about the first month. Good luck with it man :D.
I got a question man. In your past locs the towel rubbing method.. how are you washin em? Are you using same towel rubbin method just adding shampoo after wet em? Or what
Hey man I would wash them like regular hair just every two - three weeks. Water shampoo leave in for couple of mins then wash out. Then dry with towel as much as I can then blow dry if winter or air dry if I’m summer.
I started the towel rub method 2, 3 months ago, not doing it often. I got two thick dreads on my right and left. But it's not locking up that strong, what do i do should i separate it or keep it as it is.
I use a residue free shampoo bar that I got off eBay. There are loads of different dreadlock soap bars and liquids you can use. I go for small handmade soap company’s. I would not use normal shampoo as it will not be residue free and can leave build up in the dread over time. They usually contain a sort of conditioning agent that will not help with the locking up process especially with young dreads. Good luck with your dread journey,
What's good my man, when i wanted to get dreads you were the first channel I watched but I used crochet hood for my first set.
