I tell you.... This song gives that feeling that you entered inside a corporate building where everyone is at high profile position and you lowkey fresher looking weird and numb
the slack huddle hold music emerges from the silence like a beacon of hope, a buoy in the choppy seas of corporate tedium. it is a soothing balm for the souls battered and bruised by endless meetings that could have been condensed into a single email.
It already is, it is so similar to mallsoft music, that is, the music usually played in malls during the 80s-90s. When I heard it the first time I had been listening to mallsoft in a different device so I thought it was part of my music and then realized this is a new masterpiece of the 2020's.
Of course people like this, this is slightly more jazzy restaurant music (with a couple drops of space menace sprinkled in) from the nice family places to go out for dinner in the late 1970s with wall to wall carpeting and hot rolls in white napkins - when your parents took you out for a celebration meal. Places where they served Brandy Alexanders.
I always hope the person I'm calling never answers because I fking love this song!!! Thank you, I need this to accompany me while working from home. You're a saviour!!
IT SCARES ME TOO. I had tried to find the source of music for over 5 minutes and even close all of my browser tab and it still plays. I thought it's haunted and it turns out to be slack.

Also, just read the Wired article. I never used slack. I started listening and at first I didn’t get what the big deal was. But I kept listening (imagining I was waiting for something😂) and I got it. Then it ended too soon.
So I come back from using the bathroom and my cat is laying across my computer and I hear this...I investigate and it seems he managed to huddle the support channel of 147 people. Oy!
This was Julmahuvi's (the one of the best Finnish comedy series) one sketch music .. th-cam.com/video/oBT0DRzq414/w-d-xo.html When this started playing by itself after one meeting I had... it was an odd feeling. took me a while to figure out what was playing it.
It was written by DannyboySimmons. It's the song from the Bureaucratic Arts quest in Stewart Butterfield's mmo game, Glitch, from 2010-2012. I'm a Glitchen. Was a fantastic game! In this quest, you had to stand still and watch bureaucratic lizards walk around a DMV style office, shuffling paper around their desks, looking busy, accomplishing absolutely nothing. Love Stewart's sense of humor.
I just read the WIRED article "Why Is the Slack Hold Music So Haunted and So Good?" and felt compelled to listen again and decompress.
I just finished reading the article, and having never used Slack, I had to find it to hear for myself. Doesn’t disappoint.

Slack brought us all here I guess. I love it to be honest 😉

This calms me down after my meetings. I stay back longer just to listen to this whenever I can.
It has no business being this good.😄
Soon Slack will change the music and then people would want this to be back.

I used slack for the first time to have a meeting and then this song played it made me very light and comfortable 💯

Soundzabound has similar music. A gentle jazz kind of melody.
Office elevators can adopt this music replace traditional music

What do you mean by "no extra-bass"? Is there a version of the Slack music out there "with extra bass"?
Artist and song name?
Do you know the name of this song?

Maybe one day Musk will buy Slack and rebrand it to “B” and then banish this tune from existence. Let’s enjoy while we can!
It's off work.
This music is crap.
