There's a trick to the shield. If you are ground level then the enemies have a direct shot to your hit box, to counteract that, you would need to be at a higher elevation. It decreases your hit box significantly.
I love this. I already have several tank builds using different methods, but this looks great. I'm absolutely putting this together. I have all the pieces already. Just have to re-roll some of them.
@@PatrickWolfChannel I think Sawyers will work well here..you get the explosive resistance and I think you can stand still and get damage buffed. Or maybe switch your pistol with a TD Kard Custom with Future Perfect to gain more skill tiers then if you have Claws Out Holster would boost deflector and pistol damage
This build is a blast and so funny to play with when the NPCs gank themselves. It's nearly indestructible unless they get around me. I noticed most NPCs won't target me in a group if they have a choice. I think I suck with the Liberty - any other pistols you can recommend?
The reason for the Liberty is when you obtain the 30 stacks from body shots, you can repair your shield by shooting a headshot to use up all of the stacks to repair the shield at 2% per stack. You also don't have to wait until the stacks are at max to get the benefit of the repairs, but 30 is max. If you want to use different pistols here is a few I like to use if I don't want to use the Liberty; The Kard's, Rhino revolvers, the 93R, or a D50 rolled to either Kinetic Momentum, or Reclaimer. I would stay away from using the double barrel sawed off pistol as you'll just be reloading more often. The only way to offset the constant reloads by using the sawed off shotgun pistol would be to have a lot of repair skill percentages rolled on your gear, as if you didn't that shield would be melted pretty quickly. I would also slot a few "protection from elites" not less than 10% into your gear, that helps too.
Tried soloing one single yellow elite at a control point 1v1 with this build and died almost instantly on heroic. They just shot me in the leg with a machine gun and shredded through my armor and HP. Just one enemy. No idea how you're surviving against everything shooting at you in this video.
I could use this build if I finished the raid for foundry bulwark and get the bp's to be able to be dropped or built. I've only ran the raids once, got their weapons and never went back LOL. My build is similar though, I use a memento BP with a "Forge" holster. For me, at least two pieces of my set have to have repair skills on them, and use technician heal for the extra repair skills to get mine to at least 50 so a tier 2 artificer hive can repair a little better than a tier 3 would.
Probably something thats known but I'm share it anyway. Your team mates can shoot the shield and the bullets will hit whatever enemies are in front of you lol.
Since you do not need that incoming repair, use an empress piece and you will get more shield health. The forge apply that 50% to the base numbers while the 10% from the empress is applied to the whole amount.
@@PatrickWolfChannel @Randy B Let me explain. I finished all the legendary missions solo with 4 directives with the deflector shield a year ago. You can't take advantage of the incoming repair in solo play. So, RK is useless. The difference between the 50% more shield health of the Forge and the 10% from the Empress is just 192K. So...you have something that is 50% more but you can achieve almost that with only 10%. This difference is so small considering the fact that now, with the Empress, you have a free slot that can be Skill damage (faster kill = less damage) or another Explosive resistance (reducing the damage of the explosions even further). And that's why you will end up with more shield health with the empress. Try it.
@@syn80 no ..you do not. The big guy, the dogs and the minigun (from district union arena) are your friends. You kill the rest with their help really fast. But because his build is not properly tuned and even the play style, you might thing that. The deflector shield has a damage drop-off. The further away you are, less damage you will do. Also..having too much distance=they will shoot you and not your shield (unless you play from corner cover). He did good builds but this one is not one of them because the play style is wrong. Check my legendary missions with the proper deflector.
@@AntoniuNicolae big guy with minigun and sniper dogs shoot your head if you dont have protection from elites at least 50% and bonus armor they will tear you up. I tried Patrick's build and had to do hide and shoot tactic with them which negates shield's utility. His build cant even stand against Heroic rogue agents - you have to go into cover to regen since they shoot player's head most of the time.
@@syn80 problem not singer hive but they shoot players head most of the time - two of them would outgun any amount of regen you have unless you have >50% protection from elites.
I know what you mean. I don't mind running around pistol only with skill builds or headshot builds, but a shield heavy build gets kind of boring. However, they are really effective.
I try this build with a friend and... Wahou but, elites make many hits with the deflector. Like they learn to fire in head so have you a tips to get less damages
I thought the math showed that the 10% skill health was better than the 50% shield health depending on shield tier level. Would you not be better served with a piece of Empress in place of the Forge?

Hi man a quick Question. Have they buffed damage to weak points on enemies? I just came back to the game this week and I’m not sure but it’s like it takes near to no shots to enemies weak points to get em to pop, explode, go off, set on fire and all that. It’s like 2/3 times faster? Or is it just me, I like it I have to say.
I don't understand how you're able to survive some of these npcs. Plenty of them just completely ignore my shield and tear through my armor. I don't understand why. Is it some enemies use armor piercing rounds? Or are they hitting my legs? I still use low cover to shield my legs, but they just completely ignore the shield. Do I have to angle it a certain way for it to be effective? I just can't get this build to work at all.
Yellows always aim for the head. When you’re in a fight, try to leverage the red and purples to help you take out yellows since red and purple shoot the shield. If you’re only fighting yellows, either get really close or try to find something to stand on so you’re looking down at the yellows and chungas
Elites shoot your head not shield you need to shoot them in the head to stop them from shooting your head. This build is for heroic not legendary solo. You will get destroyed trying to beat legendary solo. Patrick keeps click baiting people with his titles. If his builds work as he claims he would show entire mission or at least boss fight with his build like Tuxedo does for all his builds.

As another guy was saying that Imperial Dynasty is the worst exotic just because he did not found the right build...just like mine 10 directives DPS Summit build. (But is not on the channel)
@@AntoniuNicolae Your build is much different than Patrick's. You have a lot more damage output. It is more balanced. In your build shield is more of a weapon than protection. You have right amount of protection for player - 50% protection from elites and bonus armor which make difference. Without protection from elites snipers and dog snipers will take your armor down in two shots through deflector shield. I ran solo through legendary content with 80% protection from elites without any shield. Try to solo with Patrick's build.

I've had a lot more success dropping the deflector in favor of crusader, as well as the pack in favor of memento. Don't get me wrong, build is fun and very meme-y, but against yellows in situations where you can't get the high ground, this build really falls apart.
This build is hit and miss. Needs help. Theres times where it tanks ridunkulous amounts of damage and then theres times where 1 gold enemy with a shottie or sniper will shoot past your shield and your dead. Rogues dont care about your deflector either. Full shield but 0 armor is how I die
I have a similar build with a few changes. I use the Catharsis mask with belstone backpack. The talent is Adrenaline Rush. With 36% PTE.

Make sure to change your specialization perk to skill healing and not skill damage.

Rogue agents shoot your face and your health doesnt regen well, damage is also weak.

The mask is good but you move a lot and it does not provide skill health but you can try It forsure let me know how it goes!

Just can't use this shield it's like the mortar turret,can't use any one of them I always die
