He didn't use a stabilized lens on the a6500. I own that camera and have never had shaky footage like that. They never use fair comparisons in these videos. Makes you wonder if their biased or have a motive behind the videos. I use my a6500 for weddings, family events, travel, exploration, and street photography. Never had footage shaky as his. He should have used similar lenses. And the comparison of these 2 cameras is really fair. It's like comparing the a6500 to the A7S iii. 2 different types of cameras, just like these 2 are completely different types of cameras. One is micro 4/3, and the other isn't. The micro 4/3 was brighter, lighter colors but darn close in color. Did he color grade the footage? Looks like it, but I could be wrong. My Olympus OM-D e-m10 iiis blows the a6500 out of the water on colors, and street photography has amazing stabilization, but the A6500 is so much better at everything else in my opinion. I just love the colors on my Olympus. It's the one I reach for when traveling, street photography. It's just fun to use, not so much with the a6500. 2 different cameras for different types of work.
Nice comparison! Considering that the Sony kit costs more than twice the cost of the Panasonic, the G85 is doing a pretty decent job. The Sony is quite sharp but keep in mind that only the Sony 10-18 f/4 lens costs more than the whole G85 kit. It would be nice to do the comparison with a higher quality Panasonic glass.
Well done, this comparison delivers a lot of data for us. For the next time though, it would have been more useful to match exposition in both cameras by histogram reading and exposure compensation! That way we could have had a clear view ot their dynamic range difference, if there's any. Thanks to you and your son!!
video summary 1:44 video stabilization when moving (G85 clearly winner) Fun fact, G85 can use both body and lens stabilization. 4:50 color saturation for sea (G85 looks more cool on this) 5:21 color saturation for food (A6500 looks tasty on this)
For regular people who want to record his children the dual IS in G85 kit and possibility of recording 4K is more that enough. The G85 with Sigma 16mm 1.4 can give nice combo to do movies in darker condition eg. indoors. I`ve study this topic and combo A6300 with gimbal is a pain in the ass. Mostly because calibration, assembly when you want to capture a moment. In that situation good IBIS is priceless. You took a camera from your bag, turn it on, and bang! You can record steady, handheld video. Often youtubers don`t realize that they are watched by normal people who want to buy decent equipment for recording normal life, not earn money by doing movies. G85 is for that first group.
Without a doubt, the sony's focus was spot on while the panasonic struggled a bit and sometimes a lot. However, I thought the colors were more natural with the panasonic and brighter vs the sony which looked darker and less vibrant in some situations. Both are really great cameras but I'm leaning more towards the panasonic camera and its robust feature set and the price is half the cost of the sony so I think it's a no-brainer here. Thank you for the side-by-side video test. Awesome job.
The g85 seems a bit overexposed, or is it just a dynamic range problem?

I think both of them are great cameras. The results depend on settings, and post processing. I was thinking about this two cameras, at the end I bought a Pana G80, because the sony is twice as expensive and the pana has almost the same quality video.
It's all about stabilization. After shooting with the GoPro HERO7 Black I will never get a camera without great Stabilization again. All of my old footage is basically unwatchable, and therefore unusable. Warp stabilization can only do so much before ruining the image, and it takes way too long. Sony has a better overall image, and the autofocus and dynamic range adjustment are much faster, but without stabilization, it looks pretty bad.
DANIEL Rogness I agree! I just want the camera and a lens or two and that’s it. I’m not producing movies I just wanna grab and GO like the reviewer points out very well in this video 👍👍
Not sure if focus is even a key point. As I always have one hand on the focus ring to ensure that the Subject is sharp. Moreover, I really like the coloring (or lack thereof) of the "raw" videos from the G85. Sony seems to be pumping up the color dynamics, which seems to be making the sky look more purple. Now, if I could only afford the G85... :-(
Color profile seems off on the a6500. Everything a bit too red. Great cameras both of them. G85 seems to get a bit overexposed on sky shots. Takes it a second to level out. The image stabilization is what really sets them apart imo. A6500 is very shaky in your walking shots. G85 SMOOOOTH.
I own a G85 and Sony 6400. The G85 is better in video but not by much. BUT the G85 is USELESS at photo wheras the Sony delivers killer photos. Selling the G.
The G85 had worst IQ and colors, you must be blind of you can't see how much more detail the 4k video of the sony is. The video AF is years ahead of the G85. The only good thing on the g85 is stabilization and even that has issues with warping. And if you increase the iso around 3200 or higher then its not even funny how much better the Sony is.
Agree about the iso stuff. A6500 is way better in that dept. Native colors? The G85 is clearly better in this comparison video. Sony has too much red. Sony wins in the auto focus as well.
The stabilization on the G85 looks way better
But the IQ is much lower and the stabilization has weird warping issues as well
shaolin95 no it doesn’t...

@PhyZeik So just get this. Just get that. Carry this. Add that. BS. Weight, size, convince, and cost all do matter.

thank you for your video test. I bought G85 as well, I love it so much, so much fun with this camera.
G85 st
A6500 AF HDR
Great job!!!!
Recently buy g85, 😊, come from g70
The over expose in the G85 is making me sick
Great comparison thank you
nice.. thanks for comparing those both
I have G85 & sony a7. Believe it or not G85 more sharper video quality..
Sungguh ??
Nice comparison, thank you.
The G85 colors look more natural. Maybe I am blind
Table Eccentric In this example, I agree.
You're not blind. The Sony has too much red in its image.

Can you take this camera 📸 in the rain 🌧 and it shoots 4K , I like to edit videos and to create content ..which camera should I get tho 🤷🏾♂️
G85 is weather sealed, shoots great 4k and has amazing stabilization. A6500 is best for studio recording.
I found that the g85 is not shaking at all.
Color profile seems off on the a6500. Everything a bit too red. Great cameras both of them.

Why didn't you shoot it in 30fpm?
Greg Wallace because 24p is the way to go..
@@glowlightfilmscustomersect3995 just curious, why.
May I know the BGM?
g85 shallow depth feel more cinematic
DOF has nothing to do with the camera.
S O N Y 💎💎💎 LA MEJOR MARCA DEL MERCADO EN ESTE TIPO DE CAMARAS !
I own a G85 and Sony 6400. The G85 is better in video but not by much. BUT the G85 is USELESS at photo wheras the Sony delivers killer photos. Selling the G.
to all sony fanboys for the money you pay the 6500 should be the clear winner, but g85 has better stabilization and brigter screen
makes no sense..look at the price of sony..one must use commonsense
Pana is better than Sony, definitely! Sony is rubbish

The Panasonic kit lens was over exposed, i clearly see many people don’t know what they’re talking about.

Sony wins in the auto focus as well.
Sony is better ! Panasonic lose details because nave fi much light.
Claudiu Campion false, the Panasonic kit lens is the only problem here...
