- Chitradurga is a very well-known place in Karnataka because of its history. If you are planning for a tour within Karnataka, then Chitradurga fort is a must visit place. Chitradurga fort is popularly known as Kallina Kote. Chitradurga is famous because of the last ruler of the dynasty Madakari Nayaka and Onake obavva during his period.
You may not think of going to Chitradurga fort if you see the outlook, but it is a wonderful place with mind refreshing environment to spend an entire day of your trip. You will get to see so many places inside the fort like Obavvana Kindi, Gali mantapa, Hidambeshwara temple, Chamundi temple, Olden days Jail inside fort known as Bandhikane, Nandi temple, Stone pillars, rock-cut temple, Gopalaswami Honda.

Visited this impressive Fort during my Indian heritage trip…our guide was kind enough to give us a short stopover for breakfast on the way to Hampi... well I wasn't aware of all the pointers until now....thanks for sharing ...best wishes!

This Fort is known for its Historical Importance. Beautiful video. Have you been to Somanathapura in Karnataka. I believe it has one of the best and magnificent temple built in Hoysala style. You will love it .
