So great to see you doing some exploration in Ancient India, literally one of my favorite places of fascination on planet Earth 🌎, so much gets overlooked in India where there is just a Treasure Trove of Megalithic Stonework to be explored! Thanks Hugh👍🙏👍😊🏛🛕🪨🏛🏯🏰
According to Vedas in Yuga cycle the ages see a gradual decline of dharma, wisdom, knowledge, intellectual capability, life span, emotional and, physical strength. Satya Yuga - Virtue reigns supreme. Human stature was 21 cubits (33 ft 6 inches). Average human lifespan was 100,000 years. Treta Yuga - There was 3 quarter virtue and 1 quarter sin. Normal human stature was 14 cubits (22 ft 4 inches). Average human lifespan was 10,000 years. Dwapara Yuga - There was 1 half virtue and 1 half sin. Normal human stature was 7 cubits (11 ft 2 inches). Average human lifespan was 1,000 years. Kali Yuga - There is 1 quarter virtue and 3 quarter sin. Normal human stature is 3.5 cubits (5 ft 3 inches). Average human lifespan will be 100 years. In the present days we may be said to live in a Kali Yuga, which is said to have started in 3102 BCE with the end of the Mahabarata(Dwapra). This date is also considered by many Hindus to be the day that Lord Krishna left Earth and went to abode
The amount of amazing carvings, arguably more intricate than anywhere else in the world, is amazing. And then to find out most of these temples are actually thousands of pieces and not carved out of one piece while not seeing any seams or ways to unlock them is unrivaled!!
You are welcome sir ☺️ don't forget to visit kailasha temple ( only structure in the world carved within a single stone top to bottom) watch video of it truly a wonder
Awesome! India is such an obvious place to look for ancient megalithic structures. But I guess it's just been so continuously inhabited, lots of stuff and been built over. But there are definitely lots of nubs
Well-done Hugh incredible video as usual look forward to seeing more fron your adventures in India. I'd love to see you or someone at Megalithomania give a lecture on ancient India it's a very interesting place
The serpent coiled around the phallus represents quite literally how the 'soul' is attached to the spinal column, coiled tightly around it like a snake, secured at seven key locations along its length.
That's not phallus in sanskrit Lingam has many meanings not only phallus or gender, Lingam also means Signifier of shiva Example the name very common in south India Rama Lingam so dose it means rama's phallus, no but it Signify Rama.
@@amartyabanerjee4918 Yeah, I realized after I posted the comment that "phallus" was not the appropriate term here. "Shaft", maybe. The caduceus symbol, etc. It makes little sense for the soul to be wound tightly around the phallus, but the notion is a bit funny =)
You have explained such great knowledge with our anceint of Tamil civilization, unmatchable architectural work of foot print left out for modern world which is impressive
The footprint is the least of the incredible attributes of this Temple. You can clearly see where later more crude stonework unites with larger more accurately cut and assembled wall-stones. The pilars are really amazing, especially the "floating" Pilar.
Lol 500 years haha. Bogus researchers. I wonder why dating is speculative sometimes when it comes to ancient sites but hard on when it comes to daring fossils or artifacts. Is there a difference
Ancient india is the indicator of the ancient knowledge too, thus visiting india is the best choice for the beginning of the enlightment. I wish i can visit india at soon too. On the other hand, I think cow and serpents were representing taurus and draco systems..? Also lingams were possibly a kind of energy accumulating and transmitting centers of the past eras?😊
Thanks Hugh! what a lovely temple! I was wondering about those circular disks. To me they give the impression of being melted in the stone, not carved, especially since they are not of consistent depth. Have you given any thoughts to this idea?
Thanks @Hugh for taking a great effort making this video. We could see a lot of visitors these days to many forgotton temples of India. All thanks to @PraveenMohan for his 'rediscovering' lost treasures of India. My only worry is that these monuments should be managed and preserved extensively by the local and union governments.
On seeing the "turtle"(?) carving on the wall, and when you called it a nob, I thought, could it be an evolution of the nobs we see on the megaliths? Could these temples be what they evolved into from the more square temples and such, like Machu Picchu or Osireion temple? It is an interesting idea.
Who doesn’t know Praveen❗️😁😉 Though I have to admit I haven’t been checking on his videos that often lately anymore. Very nice presentation of Lapakshi temple, Hugh❗️👍🏻 I am assuming you’re in India right now, which is good since it isn’t hot or humid yet there. How long do you plan to stay? Looking forward to your additional reports❗️Oh, and about that foot print - perhaps there are yet another foot- or other object prints hidden beneath those megalithic blocks at different parts of the temple and on the bedrock floor …
Cheers!, great job!, oh, you know the small indented ufo shapes?, well if you layed gasket paper or cloth in them & followed the indentations wth a hammer, you would make perfect gaskets for pipework, if done it hundreds of times at work, just a thought. Thanks for your work!, Carnt wait I'l be there in 16days.
I am from a town near by that temple. I visited that temple some 20-30 times, but still I feel like I am missing something. Whenever I enter the temple, I feel like I was taken to those ancient times.
Hugh its so exciting to see you in India. Wish you and Praveen could have done a bit more together. Absolutely two of my favorite researchers. Not only that but India is totally insane. So much unexplained work. I have a theory India was the last home of megalithic construction and techniques and they certainly took it extremely far. Are they connected to Angor Wat and all of that area too? Id say definitely maybe. Great stuff as always!!
@@MegalithomaniaUK im so excited to hear that. Id give you two an HBO series if I could. The more guys like you get together the faster we might finally topple the academic nonsense once and for all.
In the past, people were frightened by such images, and religious leaders exploited those fears. However, a human foot, even one belonging to a very tall person, could not have created this imprint. While humans reaching 11 to 12 feet might be possible, such a footprint wouldn't be possible in this type of stone. (This refers to the footprint in the video, which is roughly 3 feet long.)
Another Temple in Andhra Pradesh India Draksha ramam temple east godavari district, excellent stone work. Please visit. Pitampura kukkutaeswara temple, jaint foot print. Padagaya
👍 Thanks, amazing stuff in India, I hope you make it to the complete temples carved right into the stone. The giant footprint is probably carved from a natural indentation shaped like one.
I would say the 7-headed Nagas represent the main chakras. This makes sense when you look at the coiled snake surrounding the lingam of Shiva, which represents that primal serpent power.
Did you say Tamil Nadu in India??? This is in Andhra Pradesh, India. your shots were great and appreciate your efforts in spreading the grandeur of India architecture. Kindly do check some basic facts. Please make the correction. We already have a lot of them who dont fact check. Please do not add to that list.
The circular thing with pits could be where they cooked Idly a rice dish. It gets cooked in the hot sun. Big foot is a fancy carving. It is easy to carve.
What are the recesses that resembe reverse dentils underneath the main cornice? I too appreciate Praveen Mohan’s explanations. The Shiva lingam at 13:30 seems to unite male and female genitalia. And pouring liquid over the male as the liquid flows out of the female must have some specific meaning.
