You guys made it sound great! But I didn't like it that much in other tests I listened. It's always like that with speaker tests, some people can't set their gear to fit the speaker, they want the speaker to fit their gear (wrong!). Being pro cab builders, I definitely trust your review way more.
@@riangarianga Thanks, that's very kind. There's always a balance with this stuff, with a little effort you can make them sound too good sometimes, as in covering up some cracks, we try to avoid that, but it bugs me if we can't find a sound for a speaker, generally most well made speakers will have a trick up their sleeves, you've just got to find it. I appreciate the kind words.
Instantly became my favorite speakers! Usable for everything between clean and even Metal in my opinion, although it has not the slightest similarity with a V30, not even with a G12M, but neverteles it sounds like a real Celestion, only better... For me the best speakers, I ever have heard! Pretty expensive, admitted, but in my opinion worth the price. The only problem, for me they sound best or even better for me in a 412 cabinet...
Hello Zilla Cabs mates: Would it be possible to compare the 60s Celestion Silver Bell/Alnico Silver vs. the current Celestion Alnico Blue vs. vintage or current G12H-30? I find these SO similar. Thanks for the attention.
We've bought a few old alnicos but unfortunately they've all come broken so never been able to do that video. I've actually got an alnico from the late 40s we've been meaning to do a video on.
@@ZillaCabs Thank you for the reply, Paul. I saw the A/B video a few weeks ago. What I am curious about is your personal opinion from being in the room with cabs and speakers ;-)
@@RobbieF OK cool, well I really like the alnico 100, it's really articulate and pretty clean. I love the blue but I don't find it as warm as a lot of people say it it. They are quite different speakers and I don't think will be great replacements for each other. I like both so I'd be happy to work around either but they are very different.
Imagine you had a load of alnico speakers from the late 50s and early 60s and you listened to them all over and over again until you had an idea of what the common sonic characteristics were. Then you tried to make a new speaker that sounded like all of the best bits of those old ones, using modern materials that have been made to look and sound as "aged" as possible. It's kinda like that.
What do you think of the new AlNiCo 100 from Celestion?
I do really like it, would to try this in my super fatboy with my v30 or h75 next to it, great video 🤘
Pretty good sounding IMO

It has that iconic alnico crunchy sound when pushed, sounds very good to me
Thanks for watching mate. It is a really useful speaker.
Sounded great with that or those amp(s).👍👍
Thanks, glad you like it.

The AlNiCo 100 sounds great. How much different does it sound compared to a traditional AlNiCo Blue?
We did a video on that a couple of weeks back, we did an A/B against the blue. Thanks for watching mate.

I wonder how it would compare to the jensen blackbird 100
We have one, that's actually a really good shout, we'll do that test.
Looking forward to see it. Cheers
Also, interested in how it would compare to the Jensen Blackbird 40 as well
@@ZillaCabsplease do and report back!! I'm torn between the two
Sure, sounds promising, but the price is almost ridiculous. Twice as much as, say, a Jensen Blackbird 40.
Yeah I get that for sure, and the Blackbird 40 is one of the best value speakers out there but I hear what you are saying. Thanks for watching.
@@ZillaCabs I wonder how the Alnico 100 compares to the Blackbird 40?
Is sort of a 60s alnico silver bell replica?
Yes
The trouble is it's kind of hard to tell as its hard to know what the originals actually sounded like at the time.

Thanks mate.
How does this compare to a Vintage 30?
Decadence Dance. NICE.
Glad you like it mate.
