Another valuable contribution to the sum of human knowledge, Colin! I could have done with that video a long while ago but had to make do with trial and error. Cheers. :-)
Great video plus I needed to see this as when I've always tried to grow my taste and then give up is because I'm trying to grow it all, so I don't trim the part over the lip to lower lip and try to get it all to grow, so when I'm applying wax in the end I end up with what looks like 2 fangs as my mustach over my lips does not want to go sideways. So I think I'm going to style it based of yours as it looks like a really thick tasch but without that annoyance of the part above your lips
It works great for me Sean! You still have it nice and thick with a curl up at the ends if desired, but it looks neat and is much better for eating etc 👍
Thank you! I feel the brush detangles any clumpy wax nicely (without stripping it away from the moustache) and gives the tache a lovely smoothness compared to a tache comb 👍
I’m into my first proper try and the wax is mega hard. Tried a few things like heating it and was close. I’m just missing the brush and patience. Thanks for the video…
@@westcorkbeardcompany I bought Mr. Bear wax and I had to use my nail to get a scrape out of the tin. When trying to rub it between my fingers it kind of turns into flat wax. I expected it to turn into a thick fluid or so but it doesn't. And when rubbing it in my moustache it gets clumpy like in your video and it feels totally awkward 😂. I'm in Holland so it's close to the same climate as you. Thought that it needed heat but that's cumbersome and probably kills the scent. My main take away from your video is the brush to work it into the moustache and to take my time. I bought a brush so will be testing it soon 😊
@@westcorkbeardcompany yeah I thought I'd buy the top stuff not realizing it would be like concrete. Some times you need to find out the hard way. But my mustache is quite thick like yours so I'm going to need this to tame it 😅
@@westcorkbeardcompany just wanted to let you know it's working out great now with the beeswax. Main things that help - scrape with back of thumb nail somehow softens up the wax - dividing makes two hands work the wax - doing multiple small applications - having warm hands - using a brush to even everything out Thanks 😊
Every time I hear that version of the Irish accent (Cork is it?) - it reminds me of the band ‘Rubber bandits’ ha…do you know them? Think they’re from Cork. A quirky band and their videos for sure
I’m not personally a fan of moustache wax because it doesn’t feel good in my moustache, I like what it does though, so maybe I just need to find a different brand. I find that when I use the wax overtime my skin under my moustache starts to burn and hurt. I use beard oil every time I get out of shower and before I go to bed I use beard butter.
@@westcorkbeardcompany ok thanks, I always thought it was normal how the moustache wax felt in my moustache , but had suspicions that if I changed to a different brand it might fix my problem, I will give another brand a try then go from there.
Your beard in this video looks like "The Brogue" style. That's what I'm working on now. How many months would you guess it took to get a good length on the mustache tips?
It takes a while! I would guess about 3 months plus to get a decent length. Love this look too...the big moustache and short beard looks great on guys 👍
My wax is really really hard. I tried rubbing it between my fingers for a while and it was still really really sticky and didnt get creamy. I checked the products website and they recommended using a blow dryer to soften the wax. The wax has a massive amount of hold but needs some work to get it ready to apply.
Personally, I'm not a fan of very strong waxes as they are so hard to use! I would put it in my pocket or on a heat source until it has softened. However, I know this can be very frustrating!
I love the colours in your moustache and beard! And the way it's groomed is just lovely. I love your style.
Really appreciate that, thank you!!
Great video. Just recently started using product to style my mustache and could use all the tips I can get lol
Cheers Seth! It can be tricky but follow the tips and you'll do great 👊
Thanks 🇮🇪 ☘️ Colin ~ very much appreciated mate ~ God bless you. 🇦🇺
You're welcome! 🙌😁
Will this wax help train it to lay flat on my face? I’m about 4 mos into my first mustache and it sticks straight out like a broom 😅
Yes! I always use my moustache wax to flatten my moustache so that it doesn't stick out so much 😆
@@westcorkbeardcompany awesome! Thank you!

You're very welcome! Glad to finally get some moustache knowledge out there and to go on my own moustache journey too!
great video as usual 🤘keep making those videos because they are very useful. waiting for the release date for the wax now 😁🤗
Thanks Dimitar, will do! Just waiting on labels and boxes to arrive so fingers crossed we're still on track for end of Feb or early March 🤞🏾

Very helpful, thank you. I've been using a moustache comb, but the boar bristle brush works much better!

@wb3904 You may also want a moustache wax with less beeswax in it. Some of them are insanely difficult to deal with! 😂

Yes! West Cork born and bred 😁
Hey Colin do you have a video on how to trim the mustache above the top lip?
Not yet but I do trim my lip line in the How to Grow a Beard Series Week 3. I'll put that down as a future video idea though, thank you!

I think you definitely need to swap out your moustache wax! Whatever ingredients are in it are not agreeing with your skin 👍

If I was growing a moustache of that length from scratch, how long do you think it'd take me ?
Roughly about 6 months depending on your genetics 👍
So did you grow a mustache? How's it coming along?
What brand of wax do you use?
All my own handmade products from West Cork Beard Company 👊
