I just started growing a handlebar stache probably 2 months ago. It's coming along pretty good, but I'm still in the stages of training it to sit right. Don't really have any disposable income at the moment. Bidenomics. But when things get a little better I definitely want to try some Death Grip products!
I'm in the same stage now, ordered this Friday and it's supposed to be here today that's 3 days shipping and fastest turn around I've ever had on a order so this company has me impressed already. After 6 months how's your progress been and have you happened to try this wax yet?
What a great mustache! I have been using Death Grip for 2 years and always used a hair dryer to heat up the wax. I’m definitely going to try this product.
Wow! That is some serious dedication right there. How long does it take from start to finish? With it's epic length, how does your mustache style with less time? I don't think I could commit that much time everyday, but man that is one sharp 'stache!
First off, Outstanding ‘stache, Sir! I do have a couple of questions. 1) At what stage or length would you recommend being able to start using wax? 2) What about waxing smaller or average sized mustaches, same technique?
Thanks for watching and great questions! Honestly you can start using wax at any stage where you mustache is long enough that it needs to be waxed. The same technique will work for all sized mustaches. Always apply wax to a clean, dry mustache. Start in the middle and work out to the tips, one side and then the other. Start small as you can always apply more if needed. When you are done, hit the wax with cool air to help it set.
Fantastic question! We highly recommend using our Night Fury mustache wax remover oil for the easiest way to remove the wax. Wax is oil soluble so Night Fury will help break down the mustache wax for easier removal. Put a few drops in your mustache, let it sit for a minute, then wash your mustache, rinse thoroughly, and comb out any remaining wax. Cheers!
Question: Can any man grow a handle bar?(Ive had a moustach since about 15, (62 now)but I'm a nogo on a beard, stach, yes, sidburns yes.) I mean do you have to have a large upper lip area, aka Sam Elliot?
Thanks for watching! Great question. Your facial hair growth comes down mostly to your genetics. A handlebar can be any size so the first step is to patiently grow out your mustache and then start training it in the handlebar style. There are few out there who will have the length and fullness that Bob has but that doesn't mean you can't grow a handlebar. 😃
How would you compare this to the regular death grip that requires heat? Is the hold stronger on the death grip? Just trying to figure out when each would work best, Thanks.
Thanks for watching and great question! Death Grip is extra strong and extra tacky and provides a competition grade all-day hold. Sudden Death is more of a strong hold and is less tacky as well. Our strongest waxes are Death Grip and Bone Crusher. Thanks!
It’s not like he woke up and liked it on day 239. If you like the idea of having a stache, then start growing one , and you’ll enjoy almost every phase. You will likely have set backs, and bad stache days, and before you know it, your stache just might rival his. (Unless your genetics don’t allow for that).
Which mustache wax do you guys prefer: vintage grooming or grave before shave? Why do y’all like one over the other?? I’m just wanna buy once cry once but at almost double the price I want to know is it worth it?
Thank you for sharing your technique. When it comes to personal fashion issues like a moustache, I think it is very individualized. It is certainly not in the mainstream of men's fashion. I personally find that this much wax not only gets my cheeks greasy, but is very difficult to wash in the shower. Not to get too personal, and not to be offensive, I find that the musk ox is just too disproportionally sized to the face. It is very hard to wear a face mask over something this large. Now if the goal was to get a few stares, I think you will certainly get that. Thanks for the tips.
That's a great stache you got there, but it seemed to me that you are using A LOT of wax. I'm using Captain Fawcett's Maharajah moustache wax and I need very little to shape my (medium large) moustache. The guys at the barbershop never seem to use a lot of moustache wax. But your looks great though. Respect!
uau ficou incrivel, o meu bigode ainda estar em fase de crescimento, porem ja chama bastante atenção por onde passo. terei como nova meta deichar o meu bigode o mais possivel parecido com o seu... abraço!
Thanks for watching! I'd recommend leaving the wax remover oil in for a minute or two, then shower, wash with a good quality beard/mustache wash or shampoo (we have a nice shampoo wash bar). Let me know if you have more questions. Cheers!
Is this the strongest wax available? I want a real stiffy of a fledgling moustache it is super resistant to training. What about using actual candle wax or is candle wax fake as they are made of glycerine or something? I have tried to start a handlebar mo before and always give up when it keeps getting in my food and refuses to remain where is I set it of a morning. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Seamus! Yes, the Sudden Death wax is available in our Amazon store. If you search "Sudden Death Mustache Wax" it should pop up. Thanks for watching!
He explains upfront what he is doing for almost 2 mins and then goes over it again at the end. What was uninformative about it exactly? Happy to help with specific questions you have about using the wax. Thanks!
That is a serious piece of face furniture - kudos my friend.

Ladies and gentlemen. Now that is one big mustache that you just have to be impressed with.
Bob and his mustache, Elliot Norris, are amazing!

Disappointing to see he hasnt responded to a single question in the comments. Im in the market.
This isnt his own youtube. Its the company's youtube. They just used his video
Now that's a killer mustache ! I bet you get compliments all the time, 👍🏆.
Very impressive to see. Just out of curiosity, what is the actual time it took you?
Still wondering this

Great video and nice stache. You’re a pro I’ll certainly use your tips.
Glad Bob's tips are helping you out!

damn sir that is a mighty grand 'stach!
This is several years old. You should see it now! 2nd best Hungarian in the World and USA's best English
how long did that mustache take to where you have it awsome
mine is about the same as his stache, took me roughly 4 months to get it where I was happy with it

Looking good, Bob!
how long does it normally last..i tried wax in my moustache a couple of times but it never seemed to stay..i guess i needed more wax in it
I have the same problem my friend. If you figure out a way to keep it set, please let me know.
looks GREAT!!! but that's a LOT of 'WORK'!! ...does it Wear OFF....if you're Caught in a RAIN STORM?....Cheers Canada!
How long does the wax hold?
When applied correctly you can get up to 8 hours from Sudden Death, sometimes even longer. Thanks for watching!

Epic moustache 😍
i use it, its the best wax im ever used, needs a hair dryer to put in in, they should make it have a wild berry flavor or licorice
thats a fucking solid moustache! JEALOUS!!!!

I'm getting Sudden Death!
Thanks for the support and hope you love it!
bigode de respeito eu uso um bigode assim também mais o meu está pequeno
How long does the wax hold your mustache in shape?
From the looks of it, you probably go through an entire can of wax every week.
Actually a little goes a long way! Depending on how often you style, the 1oz tin can last several months.
I've been using Death Grip for years, I'm curious to see how Sudden Death compares to it. I'll be ordering some today.
Did you ever order any of the Sudden Death? If so, how did you like it?
Compared to regular death grip it's slightly weaker, but pretty much the same consistency and yet doesn't need heat to work correctly.
Is this the strongest wax available? I want a real stiffy of a fledgling moustache it is super resistant to training.

Indeed! But he is also down to earth and very funny. Thanks for watching!
Dude went from Billy Bob, to Sir William Robert.
I would have finished in one hundredth of the time. Nice mustache though!
For the record, the last notable person who pulled this off was probably William Taft, and he died in 1930!
Thanks for the info!
So... I meant to buy sudden death. But I actually bought death grip. What's the difference?!
Death Grip requires a hair dryer to melt it onto your mustache. Sudden Death does not.
Looks awesome! But good i be fuckeeld to do that each morning thats the question lol
