A track that nobody pays attention to. It was released as a single at one time, and I had the CD single at one time which I bought several years later. My CD got lost because I stupidly lent it to a guy I was dating or was boyfriends with in the late 90s. Anyway the single went to #41 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart. Barry stopped performing the song altogether after a television performance on The Arsenio Hall Show in Spring 1990 -which was really sweet. It's a favorite of mine for how simple it is as a pop ballad (and that's why it's a beauty). Chris Thompson wrote it. I've heard his own recorded version. (Nobody knows who he is either, just like Mark Radice -the writer of "Some Good Things Never Last".) Lastly, looking back at this album, it was put together TOO QUICK. Two nights before mid-December 1989 were chosen to record a concert album whose audio quality really wasn't that good. Why no one thought to remaster the album properly from the original tapes is beyond me.
What a great song and video from The Barry Manilow Archive. I do not remember seeing this one on any other video or concert. Love this one to the Barry Archive. You just never cease to surprise me with the ones you find. My deep thanks to you always as it really helps keep my spirits up. Hope you have a relaxing weekend....................Betsy Basile
Barry Manilow Archive........Well, another great one out there too. I have never heard this song before so I get really pumped up when you put one out there. Great job to the Barry Archive!! Of course, I love everyone you do...........................Have a good day, my friend~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Betsy Basile
Great lyrics and melody from the showman of our generation. This song highlights the warmth and tenderness as only Barry Manilow can perform.
