Great review, especially with the Thrustmaster! I’ve got the Street Fighter version, and I’m one of the people you mentioned that is starting my Evercade collection with the Alpha. It’s been lots of fun so far. I’ve got a Super Pocket for on the go, which I also like. No plans for an Exp or VS at this point. Oh and 2 player games are actually pretty fun on the Alpha!
Thank you, still haven't tried 2-player on it, but have it sitting on my desk for random breaks. I'm a sucker for arcade games and probably the main games I play from the evercade library. This won't be the last you see of the Thrustmaster 🤣
That Thrustmaster rocks with Carrier Airwing! Been thinking about getting the Alpha, even if it doesn't support HDMI, that is kind of a bummer though. I hear you on the buttons too, I prefer they have some weight and spring to them.
Thrustmaster is one of the most pleasant surprises by far and enjoyable. Keep thinking about ordering an older steering wheel to test out. I wonder if the no HDMI out was a licensing issue or if they didn't want to compete with their own Vs consoles. It is super easy to open up and I probably will be replacing the buttons sooner than later purely on the feel. They play great, I just want that spring back feeling.
A few years back I got lucky at a warehouse sale and found a brand new WWF Wrestlefest arcade board and also filled a small cardboard box with buttons and joysticks for $10. About the extent of my extra parts. Haha, we each have a decent chunk of years on that.

im sure swapping out sanwa buttons would be easy enough. i like the quality of this machine and will hold out for a snk alpha cab
I had some old arcade buttons from other builds I've done, a lot of my standard old arcade buttons are too tall to fit 😭
@@UnpackReboot noooooooooo :(
They were at least standard connections, but will have to order some newer buttons than my 20-30 year old dead stock buttons 🤣
@@UnpackReboot plenty of arcade supply shops out there...20-30 years old?! same age as you lol
