Why? we have found quite a common problem with these ageing batteries where they swell up and balloon and sometimes so much so that they push the screen off! Even if they do not swell up, these types of batteries only usually last about 2 years before draining really fast.
A new battery will sort all of that!

Great tutorial. I was able to follow it to fix a Series 0 watch. I didn't have to disconnect the screen; I was able to remove the battery with it still attached. The T-7000 was a little tricky to apply with the screen still attached but wasn't too bad to clean-up. One tip: be careful not to add too much adhesive near the crown. It's easy to remove the adhesive after applying the screen, but cubersome to clear it out from under the crown.
Thank you for the comment Radley, I’m glad that it helped and we appreciate you adding value to it with your tips, it’s exactly what it’s all about!
My screen popped off. A little nervous about disconnecting the screen cables. That clip looks hard to remove. Can you get the battery out, without disconnecting the screen - if you are careful not to lift the battery too high?
Thank you for sharing. Will this resolve a blinking apple loge on a watch tat keeps rebooting too?
Meet Rufus! You are welcome, it should cure that too but it’s hard to know for sure. The apple logo flashing and rebooting when on charge or not can be attributed to a battery that doesn’t have enough power to kick it all of the way into booting up (most power is consumer in this process) so it drops to zero volts, resets and starts again :)
AppleiPodParts.com that sounds like a plausible explanation. I brought it to the Apple store. They send it away to check for any soft ware issues.
I just took my watch in and Apple said it would be $US 130 to repair. I thought I'd give this tutorial a go and 20 minutes later the watch was working. Thanks AppleiPodParts! Seems the glue on the battery had swollen and the same battery was put back in after scraping off the glue.
I think it battery can be replaced without removing the screen.
Hey Antonio, sadly you can’t as it’s impossible to access the insides of the watch without lifting the screen.
Thanks!!!
That wont work that signals green snake of death
Hey Prakher, it will indeed, the green snake is the charging lead and the reason that it doesn’t get past that stage and start to charge is usually that the battery has died. A new battery gets it all working again! 👍🏻
AppleiPodParts.com thanks already did that its fine now
