Some brutal bullying in these episodes! Hopefully we get some more students to learn how to strike first and show no mercy lol! Thank you for all the support!
eh.. I wouldn't call that "brutal" or "vicious". It was pretty normal as far as bullying goes. Honestly, I don't think that anybody born after 1995 really knows what bullying is. They think that any amount of teasing or insults is the worst thing ever. And getting in a fight isn't the worst thing to happen to a teenage boy. In fact, I would argue very strongly that it is necessary for young men. The last couple generations have been coddled so much that it has made them mentally weak. Which goes a long way towards explaining many of the problems we have in society these days. And Miguel was nowhere near "beaten to death". Sure, he got his ass kicked, but he was fine. It was a good learning experience for him. He is learning how strong he really is.
@@josephamoraz7990 It wasn't. he didn't even get a broken bone. Just a few bruises. Back in the 80s and 90s that is the kind of beating that when you got home your parents told you "stop your whining, walk it off."
@@KurNorock 💯 I was bullied my freshman year in high school.. one day, I snapped, and clocked a dude right in his face in front of everyone.. a collective 'ooooo' but he didn't even hit me back.. wasn't picked on anymore after that..
The scene of Daniel seeing Miguel in the skeleton costume is really well done. He clearly has unresolved trauma from the stuff he went through as a kid, and the show explores that beautifully.
This show has that magical formula that keeps you entertained, doesn’t take itself too seriously yet deals with some really dark stuff in a mature way. Such a surprise hit show and can’t wait for the next season. Glad you’re watching and enjoying it.
From someone who's seen all the seasons already it's awesome hearing you talking about the first few episodes and hearing your predictions for future episodes. I didn't know I needed Cobra Kai until I saw it. Enjoy the ride!
I'm in same boat, watched the entire series twice - loved it being an old man from the 80s lol great to see a reaction channel doing it and loving it as well

Been waiting all week for this. I can’t even tell you how happy I am that you guys followed through with Cobra Kai after finishing the movie trilogy. Your commentary is rather astute but funny, as well. Great job!
briefly mentioned at least once in at least one of the original trilogy movies: Daniel and his mother mention/talk about a "cousin Louie", who's always causing some kind of problem, a bad cousin you don't want around well, the bigger guy who works at Daniel's car business, is that same cousin Louie... Daniel has his cousin Louie working for him...
@@LiveHedgehog Daniel and Louie look to be the same age though... there's no way that Louie is actually a Louie jr... that would make Louie Sr way older than daniel, though I guess cousins/relatives can be any age... meh...
He's definitely the core to this story and I feel like him and Miguels relationship is really the heart of the show . Love William Zabkas performance in this series
On a lot of different levels, this show has a great sense of balance. The show itself has some great emotional moments but never stops being funny. And the characters are always learning how to balance the defensive side of life with learning to be more assertive and sometimes even aggressive.
One thing to touch on as far as the bullying goes: Reporting it to the school administration only makes matters worse. Yes, I know this from experience. The early-mid 1980s were a nightmare for me. I was Eli and Demetri. While I didn't have a mentor like Miguel does, the only thing that stopped the bullying was when I learned to fight back. Getting the crap kicked out of me happened multiple times a week, did help toughen me up, but I don't really recommend it. Also, groups of kids like Kyler has always end up with their stories straight. More often than not, I would get suspended for fighting, but not the kids who group beat me. My last "beat down" in Jr. High had 10 of them beat me bloody right in front of the school's main office. I had gotten so used to it by then, that when it was broken up, I stood up and smiled through the blood at each one of my attackers. They could "beat" me, but I refused to let them break me. My first fight in high school was a 2 on 1 that quickly became a 1 on 1, as one of them ran like Hell when I came up swinging. I beat the remaining one until 5 full grown adults pulled me away from him. That was the last fight I was ever in in school. Moral of the story: Teach your kids to not be victims. Johnny really isn't wrong with what he's teaching Miguel. Obviously, you don't want your kids to be assholes and bullies, but worse than that is them living in the constant fear of being victimized.
The issue is that everyone responds differently. Some people will take to Johnny's teaching well but some will go too far. It all come down to discipline and self-confidence.
@@ikr9358 Very true. (Yes, I almost used the joke, "I know, right?!"... but I used discipline not to.) My point overall is that the best way to protect your child from bullies is to prepare them to be able to defend themselves against it. You (the parent) can't always be there, and after the fact, you can't do much to help. As I said, pointing it out to school administrations only makes matters worse on the child. I've been there, and my grandmother's complaints to school administration made things 10x worse. Each time. Sure, her heart was in the right place, but principals and office staff can't go on one child and one parental unit's word alone. The best they can do is "talk" to the accused unless there is actual evidence. It really sucks.
Definitely stick with this series. The evolution and story of all the characters gets extremely good. It gets dark, it gets funny, it gets emotional and definitely gets full of action.

I think this show really puts on display how someone with love in their lives (e.g. Miguel's sweet mom and grandma) makes a huge difference in their disposition. Most of the characters on the show that are dicks or become dickheads had a tougher upbringing with less parental love/guidance. People like Miguel and Daniel are naturally "good guys" whereas people like Johnny and Robbie have to really strive for it, it's not second nature to them to put compassion first. I just wish the Johnny character's backstory is that he was a successful ivy league hedge fund manager with an expensive wife and son in private school who lost it all in the property investment crisis in the 2000s...they had to sell the house, the car etc, and his son had to go to state school where he was bullied, started paying truant and getting in with a bad crowd (and resented his father as a result) and his wife left him quickly for another rich guy. With no hard skills, he had to take a job selling door-to-door to eke a living. I think that would be far more believable than popular rich-kid Johnny ending up a bum doing odd-jobs for cash.
The whole "High School Drama" aspect always make me laugh...I grew up in a small town in South Africa and managed to leave and go travel the world...whenever I go back I see the same sad little people from high school all still holding onto grudges that were created back in the mid 90`s...it seems to be a worldwide problem...
I am so wanting to binge watch your reactions to the entire season (all seasons), but I'll try to be patient. Do wish your reaction was a little longer because that seemed to go by so fast. (and what am I going to do for the next seven days?!)
Given all your speculations at the end, I can't wait for you to get further into the show. Things from these early episodes pay off really well (although some take their sweet time doing it).
I think you would enjoy the fantasy movie Legend with Tom Cruise. There are two choices, one with the Tangerine Dream score, which I recommend first, and the other with the Jerry Goldsmith score
I can say, as a martial artist, a boxer, and a veteran of the Army, even trained for many years, you couldn't handle 3 or more guys by yourself without a weapon. Especially since those guys are bigger than Miguel as well. I wouldn't want to face 3 guys minimum even at my skill level, even if the guys were my size. Miguel however, just needs more training and he'll get there though since its a t.v. show. ;) Miguel is my boy. He's great throughout the entire series.

Wish you'd do more episodes at a time. Great reactions! It gets better and better
The episodes fly by but they do a great job of consistently packing a lot in every episode..
This series is jus flat out amazing I've seen all 4 seasons and I can't even believe how much nostalgia is actually in it wow I laugh I get sad get glad and then I'm like dam why is it so good ......?
Oh yea 80's baby 👶
"QUIET"!!!
That's not Guns and Roses, it's Ratt, the song is "Lay it down".
I love this show and it just keeps getting better and better. Season 4 is epic!
21:41 Oh...that's "Eli" 😉
I started rewatching and damn i loved the show , but i really studied how funny Johnny is .
Dont worry. First we introduce everyone... now we're setting it up. But rest assured, they know how to knock 'em down.
The school life is very realistic...
This is Cobra Kai ... This is Approved 👍
thanks for these videos, always happy to see someone else watch this awesome series :D
Cobra Kai is amazing and happy to see the reactions.
Episode 4 was a turning point for Johnny-Miguel relation. Johnny take teaching more seriously.
Helllll Yeaaa 🔥🔥 Season 2 is where I’ve stopped off so far. No spoilers. But it keeps getting better 🙏🏼🙏🏼
The season gets better. And soon, the whole show will get better.
You two are so watchable- and go into such depth with ALL your reactions. I love that you're reacting to this show. Did you guys react to the MCU Disney Plus shows? If not- it'd be great if you did- WandaVision, Falcon/WinterSoldier/ Loki and Hawkeye-- all great shows. Then again, I'm not sure if you guys reacted to the entire MCU-but I will look for them because you guys are awesome,. I hope you eventually increase to 4 Cobra Kai episodes per week so you can catch up faster. :)
No press is bad press hahahahhaha
