JazakAllahu Khairan Sheikh Dr Yasir Qadhi I watched this series in 2016 BEFORE I became a Muslim on June 21,2016. Now after 8 years, I am watching these videos again this November, 2024. Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhi from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This is my third time listening to these gem of Lectures about our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)Each time I listen,I learn something new and beneficial for my spirituality. Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi is a natural orator and lecturer. This academic version of telling the story of our beloved prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in my honest opinion, is the best Seerah class in the English language online to date. May Allah reward Shaykh Yasir immensely and count his efforts among his good deeds on the Day of Resurrection. Jazaahu Allah Kheiran yaa shaykhanaa!!
Although I'm far from catching up, I have 60 more to go. I sincerely hope that this series goes past four rightly guided caliphs and on to the current plight of our Ummah.
I finished all the seerah Alhamdulilah and now I have to redo it. You’ll never satisfy the seerah of our beloved prophet Muhammad csw. It’s daily dose living. Alhamdulilah! Jazakallah sheik Dr. Yasir Qadhi.

This I must say...there is no word to describe what I feel every time I am watching the videos about the Seerah of our dearest Prophet Muhammad SallaALLAAHO 'AlayHi WasSALLAAM.💖 #JazakaALLAAHO Khayrah Shaykh Dr. YASIR QADHI.
The amount of research when in this seerah is tremendous and it makes one love the Prophet SWA may Allah reward you and your family and all the listeners in both the world Sheigh
Minor correction. The film 300 was in relation to Sparta and Persia and not the the Romans and Persians. Anyway love the series. Yasir Qadhi keep up the good work bruvs.
Episode 24 Notes: Planting the Seeds for Medina The Prophet SAW after Al Isra Wal Miraj was under the protection of Mut’im ibn Adi. But, this had created an awkward situation in Makkah. So thus the Prophet SAW began looking for other tribes to adopt him during the pagan Hajj season. The Prophet SAW approached various tribes but, most of them rejected him due to a multitude of reason. However, one of the main reasons was always because of the fact that Abu Lahab and the Quraysh were spreading lies about the Prophet SAW in order to stop his goals. Medina prior to the Hijrah was composed of three main groups which were, Banu Aws, Banu Khazraj and one large group of Jews which, itself consisted of several tribes. Medina was a relatively modern city at the time. The tribes of Banu Aws and Banu Khazraj were always fighting civil wars which, led to a major escalation called the Battle of Bu’ath, where almost all of the senior figure heads of both tribes were killed. This battle, as well as the fact that, both tribes had an inferiority complex of the Jewish civilization, were two key factors that enabled the message of Islam to spread in Medina, in the manner in which it did. The first actual converts to Islam outside of Makkah, were a small tribe consisting of six people from the Banu Khazraj in Medina. This occurred in the 10th year of the dawah. One of the reasons they reverted was because they were familiar with monotheistic concepts since they lived next to the Jews, so Islam was not a foreign concept to them. These six converts went back to Medina and begun spreading the message of Islam in Medina. They did this so successfully that within three months, everyone in Medina knew about Islam and more people begun converting. Fun Trivia fact: Medina and Khaybar, are the only two places on the entire Arabian Peninsula that Jews lived. Fun Trivia fact: Allah SWT showed the Prophet SAW a vision, of how he was going to migrate to, another land soon. Fun Trivia fact: The one who sticks to Islam in times of difficulty, gets more reward than someone who practices Islam in times of ease. Fun Trivia fact: Hijrah to Non-Muslim lands is allowed with conditions Fun Trivia fact: The message of Islam reached Medina before the converting of those 6 individuals from the tribe of Banu Khazraj. Fun Trivia fact: In Saudi Arabia, the tents of Mina are separated in correlation to nationality. Fun Trivia fact: There is no 0AH in Islam. You have 1BH and then 1AH. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW never touched a women who wasn’t related to him. ========================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. Salam. What Yasir Qadhi didn't note clearly is that with the tribe of Shayba they were afraid of having to commit to Islam as they knew it would involve not only military action with the Arabs but also with the Persians ie that Islam inherently has a political as well as spiritual dimension.

Sparta was part of ancient greece and was conqured by the Romans around 146BC
At the end of the day they were allies . One and the same .

Shaykh clearly talks about it. You should watch the video carefully.
can someone please explain 00:29:00 you will enjoy their land and their money and their captive women?
Just asking a sincere question.
Is your question about the woman?
yes about the phrase enjoying captive women, what does that imply?
It doesn't completely answer my question. I'm having trouble coming to terms with the permissibility of intimate relations with captive women and why and how a captive women could voluntarily agree to intercourse with such a persona that's killed their family. I'm asking this question in reference to the following hadiths:

1. If he (saw) was only looking for asylum then they why would Banu Sa'sa'aah talk about conquering the Arabs? It is clear that he was looking for leadership in order to rule by the Shariah.
2. Besides Yathrib had already a leader Abdallah ibn Ubayy. He (saw) asked for leadership and became one, hence why Ibn Salul had no choice but comply.
3. It is impossible to conclude the prophet sought asylum. He could have gone to abyssinia for that. Instead, it seems that the Prophet (saw) sought political authority.
The Prophet (pbuh) if you recall from the lecture could only go the land ALLAH showed him (i.e a land of dates). Hence he was assuming it would be one of the stronger tribes. He didn’t make any explicit request for authority but only to propagate the message.
However if a powerful tribe adopts him then the likes of quraysh cannot dare do anything + they would be useful in the conquests Allah had promised. The prophet (pbuh) never knew that such the ansaar would be this blessed group.
As for becoming leader of medinah then the ansar had no qualms making him one and Allah did reveal to obey Allah and his messenger. So he pretty much became defacto leader. Ibn salool had no chance to usurp power knowing the status of the Prophet (pbuh) in front of the city of medinah.
As for conquering arabs only the banu Kinda wanted to do that by using islam as propaganda. The other tribe only said they would be fine with dealing against arabs just not persians, but they didn’t explicitly say they’d conquer them
