I’m 65 and love to snuggle in at home and relax. We live in Ohio and usually have snow this time of year. Not interested in going out and staying up until midnight. My favorite things to watch are TH-cam’s on reselling, thrifting or travel. Thank you for your great videos.
I'm 62 and also live in Ohio. It is cold, windy and snowing a bit today. I still work part-time. When not at work I like to snuggle with my dogs in the winter.
The Ohio ladies are here. I am 67 yrs old and it's snowing a little today. Love spending time watching TH-cam.
I am 62 stopped going out about ten years ago..love to stay home find a good movie and something good to eat anymore though the eating part not so much cuddling on the couch and try to make it till midnight some years it happens some years it doesn't...Happy New Year to everybody hope it's a blessed one ❣️🙏🏻💕🎉🎶
In years passed, the church I attended would hold a pot luck and game night on New Years Eve. People and children would bring their favorite games, and the kids had their favorite blankets to snuggle in when tired. When it was about 9pm we'd all go into the sanctuary for a prayer to wish all people a wonderful and safe New Year! Then we would leave before midnight in order to get home safely before the roads got a little dangerous to be on!
The Rummy game is almost identical to Rummikub game. The metal pins are used to hold the wooden boards up to display the tiles!
I loved the Liberty of London throw! My uncle worked in the export department in London for years and traveled all over the world. Back in the 70s he would occasionally send us some pretty fabric that Mum would sew into gorgeous dresses.
Aaaaaaaah, I was so happy to see ET's head poking out of the cart~TOO CUTE!! Do we love a good GRINCH, YES, we do!!!
Happy Thrifting in 2025 to you & Roger!! My Goodwills are boooooooorrrrrrrrrrrring.
My husband and I are in our 70's and we stayed home and watched The Intern with Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway and really enjoyed it. We used to go out, but now just enjoy being at home.
Robert dinero lol
I think the pin tucking is called “smocking”. My grandmother used to do it by hand!
The cake plate w/cover was adorable. If you have a cake on the plate it covers the plate anyway and can’t see the design. 😉. Seriously, I have a dish problem!! 😂
New Year's Eve is my husband's and my anniversary, so we usually go out. We went out for dinner last night and then enjoyed live music and drinks until midnight.
Well I would have loved the little cake dome & plate
Yes!! Put a cake on the plate and you'd never know it's a mismatch.
Same! I like when things aren't necessarily a perfect match.
Im in California so my 7 year old grandson and i watch Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen ring in the new year at 9pm our time. Im usually up at midnight because we have a lot of fireworks in my area so i am dealing with my poor dogs.
I’m also in Cali and spent an exhausting night with my terrified dog😢
So sorry.@@suzannenahmias2293
Same. Home with pajamas on 😂. Used to go out but love staying home now ❤. Happy New Year 🎆
I think the cover belongs to a cheese dish and it looks like the bottom belongs to another cheese dish, Happy New Year😊♥️
Hi Karen ❤
The last time I did anything on New Year’s Eve was 10 years ago, when we got married, and we were still home by 10:00pm. 😂 Quiet nights at home are my favorite. ❤️🙏 Happy New Year 🎆
Rummikub!!!! I’d love that! I’d buy it from you!!!
The blue robe has smocking applied to the front of it. Very pretty!
I love staying home all snuggled in and good movies with my dogs .!! 😂
I like to hang out with a friend during the early evening...just drive around to small stores, buy lottery tickets, act silly then go home get cozy and go to bed. Happy New Year ! Always makes me smile and learn so much. ❤🎉 😀
I spent New Years Eve this year in San Diego with my youngest son & his wife & my grandchildren. We put a TH-cam countdown video on at 8 pm & the kids (ages 5 & 9) were in bed asleep by 9 pm. The rest of us stayed up a little longer and watched Jeopardy & were in bed by 10 pm. Of course, fireworks woke me up at midnight, but thankfully, they didn’t last long and I was able to go back to sleep. I’ve never been someone who goes out on New Year’s Eve, except when I was much younger, in my 20’s. I hope you & Roger & the rest of your families have a wonderful & prosperous 2025! 🥰
I'm 67, and I don't go out ... I'm a lot like you I can tell . l do love your personality and your cute laugh. Enjoy seeing you get what's yours. Thanks for sharing!
Great idea- skip comforters but get duvet!
I gave up on NewYear Parties ages ago - I stay at home have a Chinese and watch the New Year fireworks from London on the telly.
I worked at a Casino most of my younger adult days, so I can appreciate spending time curled up in a blanket New year's eve. 😊 Happy New Years to you and Roger.
Happy New Year to you, too! 😊💜
That Earhart would have been a good buy, if it was something you wanted to ship or possibly put in your booth it would have only been $2, it was blue tag. Happy New Year to you and Roger!
I thought so, too.
The first basket would make a lovely dolls' cradle.
Lots of cute stuff at the Shillington GW and nice haul, but way too much holiday stuff. Hugs, Karen!
For me that mini cake set is fabulous
Once your cake is in place, the design doesn't matter to me. I'd buy that
Like your knowledge of things!
I would rather stay home. This year we had our little grandson and puppie over night. That was awesome. Happy New Year to you and Roger. I hope 2025 brings you both health, happiness and more sales for you.
I absolutely have to bring an alcohol wipe for cart handles! Too many viruses going around right now.. just a PSA.. I enjoy your channel
The Tile Rummy game is a lot of fun. We play all the time with family and friends. It’s like card rummy. You make runs and sets. We love it.
Thank you for all your golden nuggets that you share!!!!! I watch many you tubers but i truly feel you have taught me way more than any of them!!
Thank you for your honesty- I thrift at goodwill too. Sometimes I find a prize but most often I don’t get much. I’m also very selective.
I appreciate your honesty on the fact that all Goodwill’s produce good merchandise.
Savers you mentions in one of your videos. Since 2020 they now never have sales. Clothing are overpriced but I do have luck finding a bit of other things.
I got one of the ET’s for Christmas in 1982!! ❤
Oh yes, when I was younger, it was all about going out. Then it was going to friends house here in there but the last few years we haven’t really gotten any invitations to go anywhere so my husband and I go out to dinner and we come home. Last night he went to bed early because he went sturgeon fishing on the Columbia river today. I went to bed a little bit later not too much. It was an exhausting week. We had Christmas Eve. We had Christmas then I went and saw my brother in a neighboring town at a long-term facility and visiting my mom and hers in my town and today it was all about taking down all the Christmas decor.
Morning Karen we do appreciate you an I know it must be hard travelling!like you said you have to go places to find items to resell .Happy New Year to you Roger an family lv Ann 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much!! Happy New Year! 💜
Sad that clothes need to be XXL to sell……….😢 There are still people that wear small or medium. I loved that blue pin tucked robe. Love your videos. I’m usually not interested in clothing but like to see the pretty vintage items.
I would absolutely buy the mismatched cake plate and dome. It was so cute!!
I’m with you. I’m over Christmas however all my Christmas items sold on December 29 and 30. Maybe people want to be ready for next year. lol. I stay home. Used to host huge parties but not for several years. I’m 65. I was up at midnight last night but it was because I got interested a series called lady Jane. Happy New Year! I’m taking photos and listing today
60s and Ohio here too. We still go out, but early before the madness starts. We usually go to one of our favorite casual places, grab a good burger, take some home to our dog, Lucy, pick out a movie and snuggle. At midnight, I open the front door to let out the old air, let in fresh air, and bang an old iron pot with a rubber spoon to welcome the new year! Then some TV, then off to bed. The kooks in my area sometimes shoot guns at midnight!
That's a great way to ring in the new year!
I always try to hit the linen section, a section neglected by most resellers. Even if I don't find anything for resale, I often find the most wonderful things for my own home, like brand new, gorgeous, lined drapes, a very large wool applique 'throw' that looked hardly used and is gorgeous on my cedar chest (had it cleaned at the dry cleaners and well worth it). For resale, I found a new, vintage, still in its packaging, waffle blanket with satin trim being passed by resellers. I threw it in my cart ($5) and resold it for $45 plus shipping.
Hi karen some of us would like to be in your basement again and you show us what has sold sometime maybe 😊 mary in missouri
I use to play that game...loved it early 80 s was called rummy fun
I believe the stitch work on that robe is called smocking .
I remember us having that jug of Henry McKenna mash on our bookcases in the den. No idea where it came from. 70’s
Dance till the knees fall off , that’s my fav why to bring in the New Year 🥰
We did nothing on New Year's Eve. We used to go out when we were younger with no kids. Now because we both work, we enjoy staying home with the dogs. We are both 62.
I loved that color blocked robe.
Happy New Year. I invited a few friends over for dinner and movies. Everyone brought a food item to contribute. So much fun that we are planning to do it every other month in 2025.
Rowboat Shelving: the back panel wood grain looked like cedar or Cyprus in the video. Sometimes a rub and sniff on the back side, if it isn’t clear coated, can assist in the ID too.
My sister has that smaller boat wall shelf in her bathroom!
Love playing rummikub. You and Roger should play before you sell it.
Yeah, the first thing I noticed was that plate does not go with that caked dome because the paint on the outside was completely different. The plate looked darker ivory, or off-white than the dome. At least from this view. That dome was beautiful though that was worth the purchase for sure.
When in the linens, don’t pass up the tapestry blankets/throws. They are quick sellers and bring pretty good money.

Love the shark tea light!!❤
The last time we went out to a real formal NYears's celebration was at least 10 years ago....at a Hilton Hotel in Alexandria, Va (we live in nearby Md.) It was nice with light bites, cash bar, (neither one of us drink much) dancing (a little...we have photos to prove it,) a very good band, paper hats and noisemakers. So we enjoyed it, but we were definitely the oldest people there. Now, I just turned 68 & hubs is 74, so we don't bother (with the exception of a First Night celebration, one time, also in Alexandria or maybe we've gone out to eat.) This year we had a friend over for dinner and she didn't stay long after and my husband was in bed by 9....his regular time. I stayed up my usual late watching TV, (YT, I think.) but no celebrations...I really don't care that much, is the honest truth. Woo Hoo!
🎉 🎉🎉
Happy New Year! (belatedly) Hoping 2025 is a good one for everyone!
I’ve been binging on your videos for days now. You are a hoot! Thank you for taking us along. ❤
Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate it!
Princess Karen we love you 🥰 those boat shelves are stunning so are the dolphins………..happy new year beautiful lady
It started slow and it got better and better.
New years eve, we have a large group of people friends, who get together and play euchre. We always have a crowd, and lots of food and drinks. Of course I haven't drank in years, but the younger one's do.
New Year’s Eve is a day party …bar hopping …(w/ a des. Driver!) but home by 6 pm. Yes!
Good Food , good movies
Goodwill’s 50% off color of the week starts Sunday @ Gulfstream Goodwill in S FL - arrived Monday @ 9:30 am and found staff and manager pulling the 50% tags off the racks - I walked down every aisle, and only found a few of the on sale tags left on racks for the consumer…
Shame On You, Goodwill!!
I heard Karen saying the same thing on other Goodwills, what is the point? Do they hold them back and then restock them?
14:29 that ring is fantastic!
Happy New Year Karen & Roger! 🎉 God bless you both! I love your videos! 💖 You inspire me to keep thrifting & selling!!!
Happy New Year! I’m your age and I agree. I love staying home. I watched one of your videos! And I do usually stay awake to watch the ball drop.😊
We don’t go out either! We watched the Detroit Red Wings hockey game. They won! We were safe at home together - husband and me.
love that shark candle light and Jamie Oliver!!
Yes buy an expresso machine. It is fast and easy to use!
We use DeLonghi to make expresso. Can whip your coffee and cream too. 😊
Happy New Year Karen and Roger!!!😘
Happy New Year! I love going to big concerts on NYE. I am already saving for next year.
Haven’t been out in years, bac in dah day it was definitely on Happy New Year’s to you…
Happy new year Karen and Roger
That’s exactly what I was thinking. On those leather shoes I glue everything I love e6000. It is the best glue ever.
Happy New Year from Maine!👏💖
The dome thingy would be cute to use with a lovely cheese ball.
I do agree, however that plate and dome did not match
Hubby and I used to get together with a group of about 20 friends for game night every New Year's Eve. One year we almost were hit not once but twice by drunk drivers. Needless to say, we prefer staying in now on that night and have come to enjoy it, especially as we age.
Wishing you a very happy new year, Karen and Roger! Love you guys!
Love you, gal and guy 😊
Aww so cute you bought Jamie Oliver. He's on TH-cam and has cooking series here in the UK.
Thank you for your time and video.
I have that glass cat candle holder...lol...happy new year u guys!🎉
Happy New Year! After 20 years of dogs with firework terrors, it has become a habit to stay home for New Year's Eve. Fortunately, our current dog is not terrified of fireworks, but that just means we go to bed, wake up briefly when the fireworks go off to wish everyone Happy New Year and go back to sleep.😂 1st Longaberger basket is a tulip basket. I only know that because I had bought one and needed to look it up to list it. ❤
Happy New Year Karen.
Watching you and older videos too. Recovering from surgery. Another 2 weeks off my foot.
Happy New Year Karen & Roger. Hope it's a great one for both of you.
Here in Michigan it all depends on the weather if we're staying in or going out on New Years Eve. Lately it's been about half n' half. To be safe if we do go out we're home before midnight.
Hi Karen and Roger! Happy New Year from Anchorage, Alaska!!🙂🎉
Happy New Year to you and Roger 🎆 I look forward to seeing your videos in 2025! I hope to get up to Pennsylvania to go Thrifting at some point this year. My parents are both from Pittsburgh, but I never lived in Pennsylvania. Thank you for all you guys do. 😊
I've got one of boat shelf, and Jaime Oliver book I donated it to our Salvation army
For New Years Eve: in the 80’s I partied like it was 1999. In the 90’s we popped fireworks with the kids and waited up for them when they went out. Now, in bed by 10. New Years Day we have pork, cabbage and black eyed peas for health, prosperity and good luck.
wow that store is huge
Happy New Year ❣️
I have that same ET
Yep. The Vera Bradly bag. ❤. Love it.
Hi Karen, For new Year's Eve I was watching your videos :) Our Goodwill's in the Houston areas of Texas do not have $2 Tuesday. Sun-Tues they give us 25% off the color of the week and Wed-Sat we get 50% off. I feel shorted! I have learned a lot from you on you thrifting trips and very much appreciate your content! Have a lovely day! ~Angel
Enjoy your videos so much. You are very informative and sweet. Love you and Roger.
The plaid quilt is a throw size. Smaller than a twin
Happy new year 🎉🎉🎉
