    Stoked how much you enjoyed this board. I had so much more fun on it last season than I was expecting. Still need to set it all the way back for a pow day and leave the 'Cuda on the wall (if i can get myself to). You summed this thing up perfectly.

      I'm stoked your stoked that I was stoked ;-) Thanks for the good words and it's really fun to ride it that way when it's deep. I had fun turning on groomers that way too for a little change up. I straight up bought this and can't wait to ride it again this year on my personal days.

    Hello, amazing videos and reviews. Have been following a long time and appreciate your thoroughness. Want to pick your brain about the united shapes cadet vs the Korua Otto as a one board quiver. What would be the differences between the two in your opinion?

    Demoed a Cadet last year. I also loved it immediately and bought it and the Deep Reach. Cadet is a great all-mountain, pow-focused deck. The Deep Reach is the beset pow board I've ever tried. I highly recommend you try a Deep Reach in some deep pow if you get the chance.

      It feels on the medium side vs. the medium/stiff tip to tail flex. Horizon review coming soon. I have comparisons on Patreon and YT members here. www.patreon.com/thegoodride but softer and feels less directional. Better if you ride switch more or like a more centered ride.

      Yes and I have my early take on Patreon here www.patreon.com/thegoodride or for YT members. Review's coming in a week or 2 but liked the Cadet much better for all conditions riding. Especially in powder and harder snow. The Beyond Medals had the pop and was really fun in good conditions but sketchy in hard snow.

    Hello. What bindings do you recommend for this board? Union Falcor/Rome Katana Pro or something else?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Don't get Mini Disc bindings. I mentioned this in the review. You won't be able to use the set back inserts and then it won't float like I described in pow. So definitely no on the Falcor. The Katana Pro can work on the set back inserts but you can't adjust your stance width. Get something with full size discs like the Union Force, Force Classic or Atlas or other Brands that have full size discs.

    HI, how does it compare to the Jones stratos as it seems they are close? Thanks

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is everything I wanted the Stratos to be. It is more damp/much better in uneven snow and has more set back on board/better pow float. In smooth but hard snow the Stratos grips better and has a more fluid/better turning experience in powder/soft snow but I like the Cadet a lot better. If Jones made the Stratos with different construction/more dampening properties it would be really close and they would both be favorites but as it stands it chatters, bucks and bounces too much in even moderate uneven snow.

      @vincew4527 no prob. Nope. It feels like its own ride. Its closer to the Stratos vs the two but its like 2 boards. On reference its like an all mtn board. I'm hesitating between this and the Capita aeronaut for a one board quiver to do everything (carving, powder, Park) when travelling. I tend to go towards the Capita because i have 11us size boot but only weigh 150 lbs so 156w seems perfect. The United Shape seems really good though and i like the minimalist style, do you think the 158 would be wide enough (i have Burton kendo 11us) ?

I ride a Capita indoor 55w 22/23 most of the time, i love how dynamic and nimble the board is and so playfull at the same time, perfect for days mixed between Park and slopes. On ice or if i only want to ride groomers i ride my gnu Gremlin 55w. Strong carver, hold so well but feel quite boaty and heavy sometimes. And for the occasional powder days here i ride a GNU Nuzoid 55. I also have a Capita Scott Stevens 57 for jibbing and end of the season wet snow.

      Yes. Rode the Deep Reach 156 on groomers and a little pow. Got the 162 in some pretty deep somewhat light Mt. Bachelor low angle pow. The review is coming but might be a little while. Have a few more in the que ahead of it. I liked it in powder and thought I would like all that camber on groomers but it took a lot of back leg weight to keep the tail from washing with the way's I had it set up at +27/+9 and then +18/+3. Neither helped and I felt rear leg burn on groomers. In pow though, it felt exactly the opposite.

    Looking at getting a Cadet and curious what size would be best for me? I'm 145 lbs and size 8 US boot. I am leaning towards the 154 but worry if the 257 mm waist is too wide for my boot size.

      So it really depends on what make/model/year/size board you ride now. If you are used to a board a similar length but narrower waist you should be ok. For me it was super weird. I'm riding the 158 (Size 9, 190lbs, 5'10") and the 26cm waist feels like its 25.4cm. I don't know what they are doing outside of the posted specs (specs often lie) but I haven't yet felt like I'm on a wide board. Even in uneven snow or tight spots which is usually where a wider board starts to fatigue guys with our boot size.

      I would say the Strata is comparable, So is the Jones Flagship to a lesser extent. Amplid Souly Griail, Stranda Descender, Burton Hometown Hero, Nidecker Megalight and Ultralight. Not really the Standard or Hybrid.

    Hi Biesty, great review, as always. But could it be that you have accidentally mixed up some of the specs? You stated the width of the Front insert ref stance as 26.8 cm, which sounds correct. But the width at the Set Back Front Insert doesn't sound logical at 27.0 cm, as snowboards get naarrower towards the waist. With the rear inserts, on the other hand, it is surprising that the Back insert at ref stance is stated as 26.3 cm, but a few centimeters behind it on the Set Back Back Insert is 27.6 cm, which would mean a difference of +1.3 cm. I could imagine that the Set Back Front Insert width of 27.0 cm was mistaken for the Back insert at ref stance width of 26.3 cm. That would be more logical, at least in terms of the usual specs of a board. Sounds pretty nitty gritty, but in practice it makes a big difference for me, as 26.3 cm on the back insert ref stance would be too narrow for me, whereas 27.0 cm would be perfect (0.7 cm is a full boot size). Could you please measure again? Thx!
