Top man Dave, just went out and completed the update. Looks fancier and i set stations up horizontal compared to vertically, which is what i was used to before, so hopefully it feels nicer with usage over time. One thing i would advise, and especially on the previous version of the app if anyone has it, enlarge all the station logos and texts in the settings, it makes a massive difference in feeling nice to use. The default settings with everything tiny and a huge logo on the left hand side is terrible. On this updated version the resizing options are in appearance settings and at the bottom of the list you have text and image sizing to play with. Surpised you're only getting 28 stations down Newcastle! Im Glengormley and on 80 via VW built in dab aerial.
In my Cabriolet I have factory dab and in my other Golf it has aftermarket....both only get very few stations 🤷♂️ close to sea and mountains so I am guessing signal is being blocked of most stations
I do sympathise, my sis lives between Oxford and Cheltenham, by that time I've CarPlayed over to Spotify because after High Wycombe I get about 40 stations.@@whatsdavedone104
Hello. Can I connect usb dvb box to the regular FM antena and keep analog FM stations as well? I do not want to stick the dvb antena to the screen, it looks ugly to me. Thanks
Hi Dave. Updated dab z. Looks loads better. But find it glitchy when the app opens. It opens then closes but the radio is playing. Has this happened to you?
Looks like a completely different app, the customisation is a lovely touch. Not an issue I have come across🤷♂️ I have it set up so it opens when usb is recognised.
Thank you for your feed back but this time of year its very difficult to make content outside the car. I work 9 days straight from 7.15am to 9pm, so dark when I get home.

Has anyone found a way to add a PIN screen lock? If I ever leave my car at the shop, I don't want anyone else messing with my stereo.
Hi Dave, out of interest, does your steering wheel controls work for DAB+ aswell as for DAB Z app?
Yes, can change the stations via steering wheel, the same as you change a song on Android auto or Bluetooth music
300+ here in North London with a proper head unit (Alpine Halo) and a DAB roof antenna.
I live in the arse end of no where in Northern Ireland....lucky to get 23. In Belfast I would get over 100 as its a city

Does that gps bit labeled on the front accept an sd card?
Yes, for music or movies. It should be labelled SD rather than GPS

Unfortunately not, DAB works of a different frequency to FM and also need 5v, supplied by the headunit, for the signal booster
Thanks. Is there a wax to hide the antenna or something? Where is the original antena for dvb in VW usually fitted?
@goranbucic in my cabriolet the dab aerial is part of front windscreen, in hard tops it's in the rear screen

@simonconey9692 yes, unit powers on the dab-z automatically opens, there's an option within the settings
Ive just installed the dab aerial and the usb stick on the back, but dab z is saying theres nothing plugged into the usb? Any suggestions?
Have you tried all usb ports?
Uninstall the DAB-Z app and reinstall with the dongle already plugged in

I have never used DAB I just play music through my USB
I like the channel but its getting a bit repetitive with the head unit content
