REALLY glad they updated the backing track for the theme song, while still the singer from the remake, it FEELS more like the original than the remake was.
No disrespect to Martin Short, but the "humorous Oh Canada" was, for me, rather cringeworthy. I like this new "Canada Far & Wide" so much better! I enjoy the new footage and appreciate that they kept some of the old scenes. The "Oh Canada" song is perfect & should always be part of this 360 movie. Cannot wait to see this in person...in March! 😁
This is really cool! I first saw CircleVision when I was a young child, and I barely remember it. Though I remember being awed by the 360 panorama. I haven't been back since, but this is a nice approximation of thee film experience. Great job, and thanks for sharing this.
A great remake. I never cared for the Martin Short version or his attempt at humor. It just ruined this venue for me. I will forever love the very first movie and its music (especially the end song by Juanice Charmaine and John Zov) ... no one can sing that song any better, in my opinion. This remake is lovely and I'm glad to see some of the original footage still used. Eugene Levy's voice is perfect. Catherine O'Hara's attempt at humor is annoying, but it doesn't ruin the movie. I really wish the original song played at the end (by Juanice and John) as it is truly a staple for this venue. Thanks for sharing!!
Hmmm. So nothing between Toronto and Calgary? Cringe. And that is from a BCer. And cathedral grove is a ferry ride and almost 100 miles from Vancouver. How can it be a “Vancouver spot”!?!? Argh.
Thank you, exactly what I noticed too. Nice to know that as usual, the "Prairie Provinces" consist of nothing but Alberta, and that Alberta itself has nothing but Calgary and the Rockies. I understand that Manitoba and Saskatchewan are pretty boring places, but I don't know why they are constantly getting the big FU from the rest of the country. This version is possibly more disappointing than the original; it plays to all the stereotypes and does not provide a very accurate or balanced view of the country.

Why did the cameraman not turn around to show the screens behind him? That is the best part of the 360 vision.

Much better than the Martin Short mess, but I wish they'd reinstate the original song at the end. That woman's voice is grating.
