I assume you mean the blue circle in the work flow. It's the data cleansing tool which can remove white space, punctuation etc from the data.

If the cleaned data didn't got saved after removing and you said it would be done in the main file only then what kind of manipulation is this??

Once you've finished doing everything in Alteryx you can export whatever you want.
