I found this video really helpful. I love singing and I sing everyday but never confident enough to sing harmonies and this has made me realise how fun they are to do. Thank you!
I Work with vulnerable adults and I am hoping to create a choir with those that wish to participate, both of you are brilliant for a go to for help when starting from the beginning, so I hope you don't mind if I use your videos as inspiration and learning. We are based just outside of Manchester and I'm hoping to get them to feel comfortable with signing silent night in time for a performance in time for Christmas. Thank you guys so much.
😘... OMG, why i always start crying when hearing this.... praise to wonderful, blissful Leonhard, he's listening, i'm shure... and you both do such a great work! Thank you so much! 😍
Oh my goodness, Anna and Mark. This is only the second harmony lesson I have tacked and found it absolutely wonderful and helpful. I am not yet au fait with the lyrics (by myself) but I know the harmony well enough to "improvise". Such a beautiful song too. You know that I just adore all your videos, and I must add that it is so obvious how, apart from helping me enormously over the past 5 months, that you are so totally honest about everything. All my greatest thanks to you both. xx
This was really fantastic, thank you, it's obvious you put a lot of work into making the audio clear and making the lesson relatively easy to follow for a beginner. I really appreciate it, I hope you'll be able to create more videos like this.
The best way to sing in harmony is watching your videos really you are good teaching harmony lesson, and also Matt is good playing piano, Congratulation!!!!!
Amazingly it worked! However it does take some time and effort to master it. I recorded my own melody part and sung the harmony to that but if the melody is too loud it's easy to get side tracked. Also I concentrated on each individual part and then joined the three together. Thanks again.
You rock! Awesome energy, thanks for the laughs!! Changing from the lead vocal to the harmony was fun! Make tons more videos!! Lana del Rey, Nina Simone (please :)))
Wow this Video did totally make me fall in love with the idea of training harmonies. It sounds so beautiful. Grateful to you guys. Can't wait to see your other videos... :) Big thumbs up!
Great choice for song. Sometimes, I think, music gives healing that happens with or without a care. It tends to be unselfish, in that way, especially when it is of such sacredness as this LC epic.
For what it's worth, that little extra quarter-beat or so pause during the chorus in the "sing the harmony alone" part at 8:34 is not there in the part where Mark is playing the harmony line. That hiccup seems to make me fall into the melody part for some reason. Something for me to work though obviously. Great videos though! Finally something that makes me feel like I can learn to sing harmony.
+Verba Vocal Technique shalom very beautiful voice I am Enoch from India . I have some douts in singing with my choir team to flow the scales. please give me some ideas thank you GOD BLESS YOU
This reminds me of grade 12 vocals class, except maybe only 5 people knew how to read sheet music... and most were tone deaf... and if I remember correctly, we did a triple harmony. Ahhh... the fun. Anyways, thank you for bringing me back to enjoying harmonies!
I am a former professional singer who hasn’t sung in way too many years. I discovered your channel and I am learning so much and revisiting what I used to be able to do. I have a callback for a musical and I’ve been doing your vocal exercises. While I’m not exactly where I’d like to be, you have been an amazing help. Love your videos. Thank you!
Hey Anna and Marc, thanks a lot for that video. I've got a question: If I - as a woman - feel more comfortable with the lower octave (the men's line). I really struggle with most women's songs, because they are too high for me, so it'd be really great to know. In a choir, I sang in alto, but a lot of songs recommended for altos are still too high for me. Is that only, because I have to train more or do I probably have a different voice type then?
Many people feel more confident and comfortable in the lower ranges when they start out. Some women do have a naturally low singing voice but my guess is that you just need to work your upper range to release it and feel more comfortable in the Alto range. These thins take a little time.
