    I’m a bartender at a hotel in Denton, TX. He’s sitting at my bar right now with Tommy McDonnell of The Blues Brothers. I’ve never been face to face with such amazing musicians and here I am serving them drinks. Listening to their history and what not. This is awesome!

      WOW!! I wish I could have been there. I'm down the highway from Denton. I've loved Gary U.S. Bonds since I heard Quarter to Three-I was a pre-teen, but I knew good music when I heard it.

    He's 83 years old and still puts on a great show. I saw him at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ in December 2021 and again at a bar on the Jersey Shore a few weeks ago that was for his 83rd birthday. He celebrated more than most of the audience. He had at least five glasses of wine while on stage.

      @mikeholtzclaw3995 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He is still fantastic at 83! He loves to play the role of the party host and he talks about his love of wine, and I often wonder if that's really alcohol he drinks on stage or if it's for show. He is incredibly sharp and professional

    Chords And Lyrics
    By Gary US Bonds

    You know she's walkin' just like she's walkin' to come and see me

    Oh, she's so young - and she's so fine

    Oh-oh, this little girl - This little girl - This little girl is mine
    Em G
    Well, if the world was mine to do with what I want to do, sir
    C D Em
    Well I'd wrap it up in a bow and give it all to her - yeah
    C Em
    And all my love - All of the time
    C
    You know I'd hold her tight I'd never let her go
    Em
    And late at night you know I'd love her so
    C D
    Yeah, I'd treat her right - So she'd never mind

    This little girl is mine - Oh-oh, this little girl is mine

    Oh-oh, this little girl - This little girl - This little girl is mine

    Hey, you better watch out - I'm telling you the score
    C D Em
    Are you going to be sweepin' your broken heart up off the floor
    C Em
    Yeah and that ain't all - I'm telling you my friend

      @Design4Training 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This was Little Steven's reproduction of Gary's original. He essentially reinvented Gary's early career with his classic EStreet, horns forward sound that Steven brought to Bruce. Good stuff!

    Hey..that's not the E Street Band!! ..but it sure sounds like them.

    • @maxslamer
      @maxslamer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, it is the E Street Band!!! The song was written by Springsteen, produced by him and Steven van Zandt and performed by The E Street Band. The guys seen in this clip are Gary's band with several future members of Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes: bassist George Ruiz (RIP), pianist Rusty Cloud and saxophonist Joey Stann.

    • @luvthedrake1375
      @luvthedrake1375 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maxslamer Joey might be the finest sax player I've ever seen live. With Southside and then with Bonds. He was incredible.

    • @luvthedrake1375
      @luvthedrake1375 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maxslamer Think about THAT homage! Seriously. Those guys cared about the artists that influenced their art and success. You get Bruce, Stevie and the E Street band at its apex to be a background crew? Just so great. Springsteen was pretty hot in 1981. But he and Steve always made time for their idols and peers.

    • @maxslamer
      @maxslamer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luvthedrake1375 Yeah, I've seen Joey with Southside a couple of times and Clarence Clemons three times with Bruce (plus Clarence with The Redbank Rockers ca 1983). Two of the greatest sax players.. Hats off also to Eddie Manion and Stan Harrison, previoulsly with Southside and lately with Little Steven's Disciples of Soul.
