He would do great research (often pleasantly surprising celebrities with little tidbits he'd learned about their lives), ask insightful questions, and - best of all - truly listen to his guests without cutting them off. He had a way of putting people at ease so that they would let their guard down and really open up. I watched him interview dozens of people when I was growing up - the best interviewer I've ever seen. RIP Brian and Farrah.

Farrah was so beautiful. She was THE face of the 70s. She really was a talented artist, also. Her sculptures are really interesting. She strove to grow and change and develop as an artist. An interesting woman and an interesting life.
As a boy, this may be the first woman I fell in love with, lol. She is so incredibly beautiful and charming. Even at a young age I felt it. When she was on screen she had my full attention. These old clips...bitter-sweet.

The beauty industry is part of the problem. They've gone overboard marketing a lot of tacky makeup. Also, a certain level of inclusiveness is admirable (and not out of line with beauty), but now they pander to everybody, including lazy slobs and people with bad taste. Women used to use simple and sensible measures to improve their appearances, like keeping their weight down and wearing clothes that flatter their faces and figures. They also used makeup to brighten and prettify their natural looks. It's not about trends that entice you--it's about what suits you best!
Young women today think they have to wear fake eyelashes, have a ton of tattoos, show too much skin, get Botox, fake, duck smiles, nose piercings...it's pathetic. Back then we brushed our hair, put on a bit of lip gloss, maybe eyeliner, and a real smile, and were good to go! 😊
