    I haven't seen anyone use a folding ruler since my dad, in the '60's. Seat looks really good!

      Nice, how is it? I still havent driven this one 😅 and now that I could drive it, I'm stuck far away from it, due to Corona and travel restrictions..

      Pristine Projects Great bike .
      Bought mine in2006 full service history.
      1998 plate and still have.
      Had a1150 before and traded it in which was a big mistake.
      Will never sell my 1100GS .
      Service and look after it and it will out last you.

    These seat covers are crazy expensive. When I need a seat cover, I go to Tijuana, Mexico. In Tijuana I can get a custom seat cover installed for $35 for the front and another $15 for the rear. They perform the work while I wait.

      I wont argue with you there. For such a simple shape any local taylor/upholstery business should be able to compete with that price. However, that would probably be a simpler design. I mean the oem seat is just one piece of vinyl, replacing that look is super cheap 😅

      @@pristineprojects4881 I got an R1100R. My bike stays outside so I go through a lot of seat covers. The good news is that I live only 15 minutes from Tijuana. Sometimes I get OME quality other it's so-so, but always good enough.

    • @pristineprojects4881

      I can't get anywhere close to those prices locally. I can imagine a local shop making new ones for 150-200$. Any cheaper and I would need to outsource it to Poland or somewhere like that. Probably nothing to save in the end. I know some friends get their boat interior upholstered I Poland, saving alot of money.
      I must say, I do envy you that opportunity!

    I have the same gap in my 1100gs. I think that normal.
    Would be awesome if you release a video about the polish of the rims.
    I tried it bit failed hard.
    Thanks for the videos.

      I was just thinking the same things! Mine also has the gap infront of the seat, I think because of the height adjustment as he mentioned. I also tried to polish my rims but they look no where near this good!

    • @pristineprojects4881

      Ok, that's good atleast! I didn't notice it earlier, but I guess it's one of those "you don't see it, before you see it" kind of thing. And then you can never unsee it 😅
      I can do that! I'm currently stuck in another country, but I do have alot of raw video material with me. I could try and but together something there.
      However, they were pain in my a** to figure out. I couldn't polish it either at first. But I noticed were my wheel cleaner had been sitting for a while, I could easily polish it. I ended up spraying it with wheel cleaner, and letting it sit much longer then I usually do. And after that they polished up like normal wheels. I used Nerta wheelshine super, but I would think any alkaline cleaner (around ph13) could work.

    What is a good place to get such (or similar) seat covers? I cannot seem to find them so far. Tips welcome :-)
    Keep it up!

    Hello there! You re doing a great job, I wanted to ask you if there was there any rust in the tank or just mud? Also, how come you polish it before cleaning it inside?
    Keep up the good work!

    • @pristineprojects4881
      @pristineprojects4881  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Thanks, I appreciate that! There was rust in the tank. I'm doing another video on the tank. I found a small leak, and decided to do an acid clean, and give the tank a new liner.
      I polished it in several steps, and decided to make one video out of it, instead of some parts polished in episode 3, and then some other parts in episode 4 and 5. So I did actually clean out the tank first, then polish it 😉 but I see how it can be confusing by the way i put it together. I'm still new to this, so specially my first videos were really poorly planned 😅 you can see alot of chronological errors in the previous video, and it was more or less put together to use the rest of the material I had, before doing the seat. Future videos will be better planned to avoid this, and unnecessary voiceovers 😅

      @@pristineprojects4881 nice job anyway, make sure to use some kind of coating after the acid clean up. I used some stuff I found on e bay, it did a great job. Hope to see that bike back on the road.

    • @pristineprojects4881
      @pristineprojects4881  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@horiapopa9207 yeah, it is coated on the inside. Used a 3 step step system, degreaser/acid/coating. I talked to a friend of me who said old coatings started to dissolve when more ethanol were introduced in gasoline. That's probably what happened here.
      Me to, I want to do a little riding video aswell 😁

      Hei! Merket er tappezzeria Italia, kjøpt fra ebay. Er ganske ru overflate på den, så den er ikke veldig glatt. Men er jo enda vannavstøtende materiale, så det er ikke akkurat super sticky heller. Kanskje ikke det klareste svaret, men håper det hjelper! 🇳🇴
