    Thanks! Next time what about heating a little the body for the bushings to just slip in.

      That should help. I now just press them in with a drill press. I've done about a dozen since this video

    hello, thank you very much, very good video, one question, how do you adjust the butterfly or gold plate to the throttle body? thank you..

    • @speedphreax
      @speedphreax  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never change the setting on the throttle stop screw so it does not need adjusting. There should be a tiny gap around the butterfly. For the rest you just synchronize them like normal and adjust the tps sensor so it is within the specified range.

    Hi. I have a 2020 BMW R1250R where the butterfly valves are pinging in the Throttle body assembly (from brand new to current +/_ 6000Km's). BMW say that its normal, but I say it isn't, as the noise is very distracting. Its very noticeable under load from around 2000rpm upwards in all gears. I have a video clip that I could share. Do you have any recommendations?

    • @speedphreax
      @speedphreax  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not know much about the new 1250's but it sure does not sound normal. Maybe you could compare it with another bike. There is one test you could do. If there is play in the shafts, you press against the axles. By doing that you can prevent them from clicking. You can also mount an extra spring somewhere that pulls on the axle. Not sure if that is possible on the 1250. On the 1100 you can put a spring on that round cable guide bracket that turns when you turn the throttle.

    Did your noise start out small and got worse over time? I think my 99 is in it's way out. Ty

    Oh really nice front of this 1100!! Where do you buy that??'

    • @speedphreax
      @speedphreax  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a custom polyester beak modeled after the 1150. There used to be a guy in the Netherlands that made them but he has stopped producing them. Sometimes you find them second band. Search for B-Beak B-art R1100GS

    Did you change the "frontside" from the 1150 gs to 1100gs? Is it easy to do or you had to adapt manually it?

    • @speedphreax
      @speedphreax  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a completely different front beak, made from polyester. There was a guy in the Netherlands that made a kit but they are not available anymore.

      @speedphreax  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelbmw1931 Look closer.. The red beak is completely different than a normal 1100. Looks like a 1150 beak but that one does not fit on a 1100 without adaptation.

      @@speedphreax thanks. I bought a 1100. Maybe we can try to fit the whole front from a 1200 gs like 2013' ? 😁 nobody will notice

    • @speedphreax

      You can buy a kit that includes the bushes, the spindle and some orings. So you replace the small cylinders I am hammering and also the brass axle that goes in them.

      Just change the ‘soft metal’ bushings. The steel spindle on my mine after 85K miles was decent enough to warrant keeping.
