I have a question about this machine. if you run let's say, your burning 70 plus keys through it. does it run hot ? I usually run 50 to 60 keys a day on average, and. does it come with a mounting bracket ? website says it does.
It's excellent. It's really funny how they have these big heavy and significantly more expensive key cutting machines that don't do as good of a job as this. I could buy 3 or 4 of these for the same price as another machine and I would be much happier. Hopefully this unit will last for a while.
After my first full day employing the JMA nomad, I love it but it has a couple problems. First I had to recalibrate the spacing on the shoulder guide. It was about 1mm off which caused big problems. Then I noticed that it doesn't cut shallow depths deep enough.. it will cut them about 50 thou higher than what they should be. You have to compensate by pressing hard on the carriage on the shallow cuts. Then the last problem is the tracer wedge is too wide to accurate trace many keys, so I ended up filing a substantial amount off the wedge to make it narrower.. that made a big difference and now it's cutting like a boss.. Best and most affordable machine I've ever used.
i realize this is an old video, but i was just looking at the nomad and saw this was a free gift, so i checked it out. my question is: i immediately noticed that you cut the key from the bow to the tip, because it seemed backwards to me. i always cut from the tip to the bow. am i wrong? is there a reason to do it one way or the other? (other than possibly being harder to bump the shoulder your way) #lockboss
Hi! Both are good machines, we sell both and both companies are great! With that being said the Nomad is SUPER impressive. I would go with the nomad. BTW- if you want to purchase send use a email at sales@clksupplies.com and we can get you a special deal!
Hi PJ, your vidoes are awesome as all ways, I watch all of videos very very regularly, one thing I would like to request you to plz tell how to calibrate a manual key cutting machine??
I think I'm going to really like this machine. I was going to buy the Silco 008 Flash but after watching your videos on TH-cam comparing the two I decided to get one of these from you. I wish the Fedex guy wouldn't have left it in the snow at the end of our lane though :)
Close to pulling the trigger on this. Does it come with a guide that tells you which jaw to use with certains keys or is it pretty much self explanatory? #Lockboss
So, what do you think of the new JMA Nomad?

Just bought one amazing, replaced a 25 year old Borkey , cuts even better
Ooohhh.... For that small size, I would consider replacing the duplicator I have in my van with that! A great #lockboss level machine!
Seems like a very nice little unit.
It really is! -PJ

Pretty nice 👌 Only thing is I wish they wouldn't have the shoulder gage mounted to the jaws. Other than that it's a perfect copier!

Brush, yes. They are 120v -PJ
There's a Nomad Go out now, with battery and brush. And it even still has the wheel to push the carriage back and forth!
