Oh yeah :-) So much taste and skill on one single stage! Do yourself a favor and listen to the whole thing… wow. So good. You’ll wish there was more. 👍
I saw Phil headline an outdoor Christian music festival in Northern California in the late 70’s, the 2nd Capter Of Acts and Randy Stonehill also played. Phil was other-worldly, incredible. This video is such a treat !! Jerry and Tony are a Perfect Pair (see what I did there?).
Jerry Marrota is one of those unsung hero drummers. That is just so pocket. No wonder guys like Peter Gabriel reached out to him. And Phil Keaggy another one of my favorites
Interesting. As someone who grew up in evangelical churches here in the UK, Keaggy was very well regarded in the Christian music area, and it's fascinating to see him here with two of my music heroes via Peter Gabriel etc. Great music here. I'd no idea Keaggy had ever met them.
Also, I appreciate how PK can adapt to just about any type of accompaniment he is presented with. He is the guitarist's guitarist. Saw Tony with King Crimson in the 80]s with King Crimson and again in the 2010's Such a great bassist. Thank you all who posted this.
Phil keaggy .. has a;ways been my favorite guitarist he came and played at my high school in 1976 .. blew me away back then .. when they asked Hendricks what’s it feel like to be the best guitarist in the world …he said I don’t know go ask Phil Keaggy .
Jerry you’ve got a dictionary of chops man! Love your drumming! Phil had told me about you guys & I’d heard the bucket list, but this is the first time I’ve seen you guys LIVE on stage. Once Phil’s shoulder heals up & you guys ever get together anywhere in the South I’m there! Thanks for posting this. 🙏🏻❤️⚡️
Oh my goodness, Jerry - I just discovered this - and wow! The Bucket List record is amazing work, thank you for putting this out. I've always loved your work, and certainly Tony & definitely Phil. it has such a unique vibe, almost King Crimson 80s feel & soul but with all of your precise and impeccable contributions, hard to describe... incredibly original and melodic and, well... goosebumps!! So nice. Thank you! :)
Great stuff, gents. Enjoyed seeing you 3 at Sellersville Theater (and Phil 100x over the years). Really inspiring to see the raw Petri dish of this collaboration.
OH MY DEAR GOD!!!!!!!!!! Phil AND Tony?????!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!! You two! I just came across this. I was just thinking last week that a great combo would be you two! Love ya guys. P.S. Thanks for all the sore fingertips. Those strings bite. You both got me started. Oh, shoot. I'm talking like a "fan". Shutting up now.
Yesssss! this is fantastic 😊You three guys have been a big musical influence on me in all the different bands and incarnations that you continue to do. Thank you Jerry for sharing this.
Even the greatest secular musicians know that Phil is one of the world's best guitarists. I hope he influenced them. I was on a Tony Levin (bassist) kick, having listened to Double Fantasy by Lennon for the first time (mostly) all the way through tonight, and I ended up here with my man Phil (I've met him). Tony is amazing. Have faith! Jesus died and rose again for you!
Thanks to those three heroes and their transcendental intervention, the universe has not been disintegrated into quantum entropy... frankly, really, those three should take lessons at some conservatory and learn to really play.
Why do you have to make this about religion? Keaggy is a Christian, Tony Levin is Jewish, and I don'r know (or care) what Marotta is. Music transcends differences of belief.
Phil really flies on that Parker I really like some of the funky Creamish parts playing so tight, that they all sound like you rehearsed them to perfection 😎
I first became aware of Phil Keaggy when I picked up the first Glass Harp album in well played condition for a$1 in an opportunity shop because it looked interesting. If I had known what was in those grooves I would have paid $50 for it despite its poor condition. That was thirty odd years ago ,still have it,one of favourite albums. In my top twenty for sure. And that live album that came out later was sensational but I have since mislaid it!This vid is gold.I heard a certain Jimi Hendrix was a fan.
@@jerrymarottadrums thank you very much for the quick response. It looks like great travel kit. Hence the name, duh. Of course with any instrument it is who is behind it that makes it sound great and yours certainly did. Love the variety of techniques you were using . Was that a Garden Weasel.:) Only you Mr. Marotta would think of that. Still think Security is one of the best albums of all time and the musicianship was out of this world. Thanks again
Hey Jerry, just want to say love the hip-gig with the dual toms on top. I use that same config while touring and love the space saving for traveling. your hip-gig sounds great. I found an emad on back of kick and a kickport drops the fundamental so the kick has a more rock/fusion feel. Thanks for the video.
Instrumental music can expand beyond language barriers, as it is from God. I have seen Phil and Tony at several venues separate and wish I could have seen this one together. As a bass player I really appreciate this. But, more so, I am a follower of Jesus Christ and He is my Rock and my Strong Place. Ask me how I know.
I think I heard the Bass riff from Peter Gabriel, so album "don't give up" @ 11:00 😎Oh yeah so now That I listen again more closely, I can hear the guitar playing the melody definitely cool
We have heard and now do agree, that little ole ' Keag-Meister ' did indeed ask the Spirit to 'Play Thru Me' and He did play thru him ! Listen to that album 'Play Thru Me' and the many other fab albums that this here little God gifted guitar player has managed to put forth over his entire lifetime ...
Okay, so I was at this concert and I must sadly admit that I didn't know the bassist or drummer by name or sight, though I was familiar with their music via Peter Gabriel albums. Of course, I was amazed by the incredible virtuosity displayed--especially since I had thought it was going to be a "Phil only" concert with his looping machine. But a question for anyone else who was there too: Didn't Phil say something at the beginning like he had run into the other two guys at a GAS STATION and brought them to the concert? His comment was probably tongue-in-cheek, but how DID it actually come about that (as Jerry writes above) it "was the first time we met and first time we jammed"? Anyone know? Very curious now! :->
This is some boss level musicianship.
I love how Marotta is like 'we doing the pink panther? we're really doing this? Ok...."
Well, I just checked - there is no chartreuse panther ... 🤷🏼♂️

We saw Phil in 2006 in Vermont. Solo performance. Astounding
@@ScottFrye000111222 hey Scott, I love your YES avatar, if that’s what it’s called. My all-time favorite band !
'tis nice to see Tony and Jerry playing together again. They were a great rhythm section of the early Peter Gabriel albums
👍👍
Wow, great to hear that, Tony is familiar-- Keaggy was( back 🔙 in the day) a CCM artist who was in demand and ahead of his time ❤
Jerry Marrota is one of those unsung hero drummers. That is just so pocket. No wonder guys like Peter Gabriel reached out to him.
And Phil Keaggy another one of my favorites
Oh my gosh, what's Phil doing with Tony Levin and Jerry? Amazing and very cool! ♫♪ (Thanks JM)
They have an album together.
Coolest church band of all time.
Levin is Jewish.
Everytime I hear this it blows me away!!! A 3 piece band . Phil Kegggy and Tony Levin.
🙏+***
This is one of the most random, yet awesome things I’ve seen on TH-cam
I've seen Levin with Gadd too all mind blowing material one of my fav bass players
Lot of years playing went into that performance. Squeezing the juice out of countless hours at the craft. Thankyou for what you guys bring.
That is the best pink panther I’ve ever heard. Only Phil. Can’t believe they kept going.
Oh, my goodness. How have I not seen this before? Astounding, inspiring, and jaw-dropping.
same with me a hidden gem
Thank you YT algorithms! Transcendent moment in human existence. Thanks to the musicians for sharing their gifts with us
had a hard day. really bad day to be honest . but this here at the end of it all is a lift me up. thanks for this.
Hang in there, Mike. Sounds like you know how to take care of yourself.
Phil, Tony and Jerry.. Wow this is the best.
This is frickin awesome!

i first listened to Phil way back in 80s when christian music was very popular.

Saw Levin w Gabriel awesome
Love these moments ….. So Special …
Now that would be a trio of hope...
Not doom 👏👏👏👏👏🙏✝️
Good Jaco reference. A+😂
Unfortunately, after a great rehearsal and run through Draco destroyed the gig by showboating.
The trio of doom was no more
This makes me happy on so many levels, these 3 gifted musicians improvising together. The jam around PG's "don't give up" was so good.
I about lost my shit when I saw Jerry rattling a Garden Weasel! Great video and definitely subscribed!

Tony looks like a giant. Can’t wait to see him in Clearwater on July 22nd on the King Crimson tour.
Wish I had been there.
Don’t Give Up was ethereal. Love that song SO much.
The bassist is great- in another place
That's Tony Levin

Magic combination.
Mike Pachelli's channel brought me here with his new release with Phil. Wow this was some seriously tasteful jamming. Nice job all.
Just found this, thanks for posting man.

I haven't seen Phil Keaggy since the '80s Muncie Indiana Ball State University great to see him again. 👍🏼
Sooooo good. Magic. Thank you!
Yea man. Old school. Can't beat it. Tastey.
Wow, looks like Phil got another Parker Fly. I was surprised when he sold his black one. I hope to see a show of his when I’m back in the States.
How brilliant, made my day. Three greats at once unbelievable. ❤❤
Great jam. Thanks for sharing it with us

Love your brush work. That was a welcome surprise.
Wauu fantastic
Wow, been a fan of all these guys since I was a kid.
Me volví fan de este trío de inmediato...su álbum "The Bucket List" es fantástico!
Thanks for posting! If this were for sale on EBay, unlike so many things labelled "Rare" this would deserve such a label... what a gem!

Still a fan from some long ago.
Oh, soooooooo splendid!
Excellent....thank you!

Awesome
What a wonderful discovery. Many thanks Jerry. Phil is an amazing guitarist. What a joy to see him join you and Papabear for sweet musical congress.
Thanks so much for share. Great , virtuosos. 💯🎼👏🙏.
This was absolutely amazing!! You guys make a great band! I'm sure the audience enjoyed the show as much as me! Great job :):)
Wow, talk about the dream team! And now I know why Robert Fripp always sits down instead of standing next to Levin. He’s huge.

Never heard you swing like this Jerry, very nice - tho’ not surprising that you can do this and great

I'm obsessed with this red guitar; can anyone tell me anything about it?
It's called a Parker Fly. Mark Farner plays it. He says it's like 5 pounds because his back is bad, fused, and he can't play heavy guitars anymore.
