This is incredibly helpful! I love how you talk through the color temperature and what colors you add to each area and why. Also the way you describe your thoughts on toning the canvas was useful too. Thank you for sharing this to TH-cam.
Wow. Where do I begin? I dream of creating beautiful art and have watched thousands of painting tutorials. But you are by far the best of the best. You're blessed to live "on top of the world" in such a beautiful and inspiring country (NZ). Your command of color temperature, color mixing, brush strokes, composition, and sense of balance between visual drama and simplicity to lead the eye is incredible. Add to that your understanding of how light interacts with the natural world and your natural teaching abilties with clear and detailed explanations makes you truly the best. Thank you so much for all you've shared with us. Truly inspirational.
Aaaw, thanks Tim! That’s gotta be the nicest comment I’ve ever received. I’m always learning too so let me know if and when you see anything that can be tweaked, or anything that you would like to learn about.
Explaining ur thoughts helps me to understand what u see rather than just watching and me not understanding ...too many tutorials only show and in high speed with out really teaching .. u teach u help me understand and learn

@@RichardRobinsonStudio What is it about walnut oil? I don't hear many talk about walnut oil, but when I do they are like it's the best thing ever. What advantages does walnut oil have?
@@louiswolfe5012 it doesn’t yellow overtime like linseed oil and it’s completely harmless whereas with linseed oil, you can build up a sensitivity to it over time. It’s slow drying.
