I think the greatest takeaway from this ep for me is there are no sides to take. Relationships in general and certainly marriage require a different type of dedication that most people don't or likely may never have what it takes to put themselves into them. With the biggest therapy tool this ep being the potential or intentionality to "love the worst parts of each other", we've seen both parties here in their worst, Jax last season and now it's just Lewis turn. They both rightfully called each other out and every interaction was hard but refreshing to watch. I respect the pov from another woman watching this ep because it's a relatability I'll never have, but I never thought that Jax dated down and still don't. I think some people just fit in ways that can't be shown or explained until those particular individuals interact regardless of station, even if we as viewers get to watch it from a unique third party perspective, as we too are tasked with keeping an investment despite the worst parts of characters we're often watching. To me if the series was flipped and Jax was married to a Corey, she'd be having similar struggles but it would just be coming from a perceived upgraded package.
The grass is rarely greener on the other side, and more so where you water it. This is why these therapy sessions are some of the most key factors of this season. I like Corey but I can't respect him for attempting to sleep with Jax. Regardless of his feelings for her, what he tried to do made him no better in that moment than his father when he tried Jax a couple eps back. Perhaps those two only respect marriages when they are the ones wearing the rings.
Hope I didn't come across condescending or anything like that in any way. Always appreciate your reviews.

I think Jax should take her time and to figure what she wants. She has had to deal with a lot: Shanelle coming at her, Shelly, and Lewis’ lies. She owes it to herself to do what best for her.

I agree with you!! I would have to say no to Lewis too. Those are great reasons, but I would have to let him go for the long term reasons. The way Toni looked at her in court...she's going to be a BM problem for them. Also, when the info comes out that the Defense Attorney's HUSBAND is the baby's father...what can that potentially do to her professional reputation? Not to mention, she didn't let Corey in on this info. Lewis was entirely to careless and it has disrupted their relationship beyond repair.

No man or women is perfect we are all here on earth to learn lessons and evolve they are both married and thats not easy because there will be hardships we all have good traits and bad traits but they are willing to fight to be together thats the difference its not about who is higher than who and who is out of others leage when your married you are one its not how you fuck up but how you come together at the end you wont understand it until your in a marriage and really want to fight for your marriage and each other equally its not about you not wanting them because they did this or they did that its about someone seeing all your flaws and still love and accept you marriage is not for the weak

This show trigger me too cause Why does something have to happen. For lewis to finally come to tell her how he feels. When he was playing with her. from the screen in Season one! she wanted her man and he teases her in the car with his fingers. That tease crap!!! Finally SHE NEEDED the security of her man but he hires another man to protect her, lots of problem are often set up by the partner we choose for our lives.
Lewis is a baby boy looking for the comforts of a wife , but not wanting to work hard for this marriage... He pushing away only got him here. WITH SIDE BABY LIKE JAX SAYS!!
HE needs and to live in regret for pushing her away... Yes we all need to date and marriage high!! not settle for potential!! LEWIS GET MY on my ONE LAST NERVE!!! REMINDS ME OF MY EX HUSBAND!!! BIG BOY!!! JAX NEED TO GET WITH COREY AND CALL IT A DAY...

Nah we see that they play mind games.. We see how they go to sex clubs and experiencing having intimate moments with others in front of one another. They are toxic. Y’all only want her to get with Corey because he is handsome and successful. He has not shown who he truly is. He was introduced having sex with a co worker.. Jax is going to be another number to him. His Dad already tried to shoot his shot so how weird would that ve

I hated his speech. It was one long manipulative ass speech and i hope Jax doesn't fall for it. This new situation is beneath her!!!

Jax could save her crocodile tears; she caused this situation by sleeping with an ex-con. Lewis is no better by operating from a place of hurt after watching Jax on a date with her boy toy. What date down man as some of you call it will stand by you after your side dude kidnaps you? Not many at all.

I’ve been married for over 15 years and we’ve gone through ALOT but a side / break baby would be the end for me. I could never keep re-living that trauma every time that child was around. And I don’t know Amy men who would stay with a wife as her stomach grew with her side dudes baby. GTFOH

i feel like very few... very very few men would be able to healthily navigate a break baby they wife had... and Lewis is not doing nearly enough to warrant Jax making any effort to "make this work".... chileeeeeee a mess! thanks for the comment boo!

People want Lewis to be a bad guy so badly. I believe SOME folks who don't like this character are projecting their own bad situations onto him. His relationship with Jax is complicated but is a story of love, growth, and the realities of a real marriage. Every marriage is different, but rest assured there will be challenges and situations where both individuals are to blame for the relationship dynamics they have. I really love these two, and I hope they stay together and that the show doesn't give in to the idea of separating a "black family." To me, families should always be prioritized unless, of course, there is abuse. And stop it with this struggle love. This man makes six figures, is a present father, and only wants his wife to prioritize their family and her safety. They're both successful in their careers and are good parents. What you see them doing in the show is a hyperbolic assessment of one another because they're angry. For example, in one scene, you see Jax saying that she does it all, but Lewis is the one picking up the children, working, and dealing with his daughter's menstrual cycle and his son's school issues. Jax is working but is not the primary parent handling these things. Her comments come from hurt, not facts. And that's a fact. Stop trying to make this man the same as men who are truly terrible and abusive. He is truly a loving father, husband and is full of depth and gentleness. Just my opinion...
