Really glad to actually get to play against you, I've always been there on twitch watching your streams and watching your videos on youtube and this was a really great chance, ofcourse I messed up in the opening, and that didn't work out, but really thanks for the game danya!!
the rating gaps in this speedrun have me cracking up a little. imagine being a 1600 and having a 1000 absolutely squeeze you like that, youd absolutely think they were cheating lol.
@@caius6019 rofl 🤣 Ye I would def suspect he’s loading the game into an engine. I suppose Danya is actually smurfing the guy. It’s worse with Hikaru’s tricks only speedruns where he keeps score like 250 wins 0 losses 0 draws 😂😂😂
Opponent played extremely reasonably and clearly thought about their moves, agreed. Love when Danya gets this kind of opponent because the games are so much more instructive.
It's not really that hard to play when you exchange the pieces at every move and he missed the tactical sequence which left him at a disadvantage early
Please stop talking, like you know what you're talking about you don't seem like you're high rated by saying the opponent played "very well" like dude, just don't please.
Very logical way of explaining. As a learner, I can see myself thinking like this from first principles and coming up with a good move in an actual game.
I did not wake in 3 hours instead waking in 4 and a half hours. I immediately knew I was not only late for work, but the time I was due to start was now a distant blip on the chronological horizon. Fuck.
Thank you very much for this great video the tip about pushing the extra pawn is really helpful and this is my first time to know about it even tho I watched a ton of chess videos. I hope we can see a video about uncommon principles cause it's really a struggle to collect them all
I always enjoy your instructive videos. If love it if you did a video on how to fully use and interpret an engine. Or if you even did a quick run through the engine analysis after your analysis of the game.
8:34 Nc4 is fine because if black goes Re4 then just b3 to defend and black goes b5 threatening the knight(which defends the bishop), the bishop can get out of danger with f5+.
@@ItsABOUTflamTIME It maintains pressure on black who has no good moves. If the bishop moves with check the knight will make it to d6. Even though black can keep their rooks with Re2+ their rooks are tied together and they just have no threat
Danya didn't discuss the other alternative to b6, which was c4. I'm guessing this is just bad because it's another wasted tempo pushing the pawn instead of developing, while also closing the board up, which should favour white here because of the holes left behind the pawn in black's encampment....
c4 is also easily undermined and can later be attacked by both knights, the queen and the pawn break b3. if white wants to open the position. Black avoids an IQP but kills some of his potential play on the c-file if white doesnt open it. But it's completely whites choice now. Your tempo point is valid, if you want white to use one too, you might consider cxd4 (not sure if this is good though). I play the french as black and in the advance variation, i usually only consider c4 when white played a3, because b3 then is harder to play. One line is: 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 c5 4.c3 Nc6 5. Nf3 Qb6 6.a3 c4. The position is a bit different, mainly because the e-pawns are still on the board but you can see the point about the b3-break against a black pawn on c4.
my rating has went from 1400+ and climbing (beat 1600s on multiple occasions) to the 1200s (and falling, losing to multiple people 1150-1250) My play switches from calculation to instinctual the moment i have an edge it seems or i play to the level of my opponent (within reason of course... its like my rating can raise or drop 400 points from 1300) I also have trouble using the time on my clock. I end pretty much every game with way more time than my opponent even when I try to tell myself to use my clock.
I went from 1600 to now 1300 and back to 1400. I’ve beaten 1600s. I consider myself a 1600 in my mind even tho my ELO says otw. I love it when I play 1200-1400 bc I’m confident I’m the stronger player. When I play solidly, I can outplay my opponent, have a winning position but then blunder my queen?? It’s not too often im actually outplayed by lower rated Elo. I used to be fearful with shakey nerves but now IN MY MIND, I’m the guy to beat. Since you’ve tasted 1600, you have the EDGE with lower rated players. So be confident, play solid, don’t play too sharply or take high flying cowboy risks. I still play fried liver, Jerome gambit and Danish gambit… for fun. Against a 1300 I may even play the Englund gambit. Lol. But mostly I play solid chess and calculate, look for weaknesses, spot tactics and always ask what did my opponent play and why? Look at the whole board. Keep developing , enjoy the training videos and have fun with the lower rateds!!! 🤔😂😂
this is simply a problem with patience. you must be patient with your clock, but also patient with your advantage. simply having an advantage does not kill your opponents counter-play. you also need to be patient with your tension. dont trade too often, and dont trade too little. keeping tension and taking when beneficial is a crucial skill to learn.
Suggestion: If your opponent is not near your account ELO then abort the game until you get an opponent near your account ELO. One of the primary motivations for me watching these speedruns is so that I can see you play people at my level so that I can better learn how to win at that level. Even though your videos are full of great information, when you play someone way higher than your speedrun account ELO, even though it may be full good information, I won't practically be able to beat 1650 when I am only 1050. When I saw the thumbnail was 1050 I got so excited but then was immediately let down when I saw your opponent was 1626. For these videos its far more important what your opponents ELO is rather than what your account ELO is.
I heard a live streamer say twitch required him to sign a contract that he would not multi-stream , and his audience was mainly TH-cam. On the other hand doesn’t John Bartholomew stream on both? It’s a complex world 🤷🏻♂️

You should stream over TH-cam as well as twitch (it’s possible to stream over both at the same time). That would expand your audience.
