I am a huge paleo nerd, even back as a kid. When I saw the ending I was expecting another scene, showing their fossilized remains in some museum being explained by a tour guide to a bunch of school children. How the dinosaurs were dying off mysteriously and a huge asteroid finished them off... I was disappointed that scene never happened.
The show was my CHILDHOOD even I metaphorically treated the show like it was my own son and then until the final episode where the characters die of extreme cold weather and that just went ahead and broke my heart metaphorically this is reminding me of when the wind blows all over again 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Well, if this show is geologically accurate. The dinosaurs died during the Cretaceous. Pangaea already split and this let dinosaurs diversify even MORE. However how they die is inaccurate, as an asteroid slammed into the Yucatan peninsula which caused a snowball effect. This however is to mirror us with global warming. However they deal with global cooling. Edit: ok, Pangaea is still a thing in that show, just checked. Either way, it'd be a slow process.
I just learned about this show today! I was watching a video of sad scenes from shows and when I took a first glance of "the dinosaurs" I was like, "Eww this was a tv show?!" But then I watched the scene of when the dad had to tell his kid that he failed everyone and that the earth was ending and it made me cry. Legit CRY! What made it worse was how everyone pretended like they were all going to be okay... then next thing you know the whole earth is nothing but snow and corpses.... now I'm super intrigued by the show and want to watch more episodes. Glad I found this show!
It was confirmed they died. The creators specifically created this episode as a final episode and confirmed their intention to allow the viewers to come to the conclusion the Dinosaurs all froze to death.
There's no probably about it. They died. Period. Earl managed to save the dinosaurs when he had superpowers and deflected that asteroid. It's kind of ironic that he would later cause the environmental disaster that would blanket the Earth in nuclear winter, just like that asteroid would have done.
I recently finished this on Disney+ and as an adult now I watch the ending and I felt real sad for them I didn't want it to end that why but then again it shows that reality can be a punch in the gut and that it isn't always happy endings like we want I get this with Dinosaurs and Black Adder.

The last 7 episodes are episodes that were made after “Changing Nature” but never got aired because CBS wanted the show to end there
