    ••• ABOUT THIS VIDEO •••
For quite a while now I have been planning this 1 month trip to Svalbard, and now finally the time has come. I spent the first week together with my dad, and we had a wonderful time.
I have been on a 4-day solo trip to a remote fiord to find and photograph wildlife.
This is the last video in my series from Svalbard. I am on a remote location together with Robin Levin from Nikon Professional Services to hopefully find and photograph birds and wildlife.
So far we have been lucky to find reindeer, birds and a polar bear to photograph. This is the last day and while I did not have a lot of expectations, I have to say this day turned out very good. Last moment luck I would say.
Happy watching and stay tuned for the next video.
    ••• WHO I AM •••
My name is Morten Hilmer and I am a professional nature and wildlife photographer.
I am a Nikon Ambassador and I work as an ILCP photographer.
Nature conservation is very close to my heart.
I have served in the Danish military special unit, the Sirius Patrol, for two years and that has given me the skills and confidence to operate alone in the arctic regions. I have spent two further years in the northern parts of Greenland meeting the local people and working on photography projects. My driving force is a sense of adventure and my fascination for nature, and my curiosity and empathy for other cultures has led me to many remote regions.
Beside being featured in publications and in my books books my photographs have been awarded in the Wildlife photographer of the year and European Wildlife photographer of the year photo competitions.

I just hate when it ends man.. I’ve been refreshing TH-cam everyday waiting for you to post a new video.. and i instantly look at the length of the video hoping for a 45 min long one ( wishful thinking). Ive been connected to wildlife since i was a boy, and over the las year ive reconnected to it when i picked up my first camera Nikon z6. When i found you ive been hooked every since. Ive been going through so much since my daughter passed away two years ago, and you as a person, as a human, your personality, your passion for wildlife, these videos, they are so therapeutic for my mental health.. i was going threw some mental challenges this week and i was on TH-cam everyday hoping Morten put up the next video.. thank you for being a beautiful creation of our God/Creator.. sharing your life and story with us. Much love to you my brother

Absolutely superb footage. Most Z9 buyers are going to throw a panic attack if they get a single spec of mud or drop of water on their kit, and yet you show exactly how tough it has been built 😁

One of the big considerations I had when debating on getting a Nikon even though I don’t really go out in bad weather. I couldn’t decide between canon r6 or Nikon z6ii. I went with canon, but I have a month to decide if I want to keep it. I’m just a hobbyist so there’s nothing spec wise that I really need. But I the autofocus is what swung me towards canon for now. I do like how all of nikons lenses are WR where as canon only L glass has WR

Thank you Morten for taking us all with you and showing the beauty of such a unique and un-disturbed place. Your enthusiasm and respect for nature is truly an inspiration to all that will listen. Your "real life" example of what it means to be a nature and wildlife photographer is refreshing. You demonstrate that the camera gear in your hands is like any other tool... It is there for a purpose like a hatchet or knife, unlike others where it is simply jewelry to keep in a bag, polish and wear around their neck to show off. Thank you for being and inspiration to us all.

Morten, you bring the viewer with you, such real life situations. All through this series I have been totally absorbed by your technique and story telling in some inhospitable environment. My original interest was the goal of your project, the Z9 in Svalbard, but I found myself more and more just awestruck by the content of each video and how you managed in Svalbard. Some 46 years ago I was there, a young photographer with a limited amount of film You have rekindled the memories of that trip. Morten an other great video. Wildlife photography in the truest sence. No help from vehicles, no spotters, true wilderness and the ability to think on your feet and look after your self, much like being alone high up in the Canadian Artic which you have experienced. Great production value. Love the wonderful images of that fox in this video. Take care.

I have absolutely loved this series. When I was a young man, I wanted to do what you are doing. Thank you for inspiring me to continue with my nature photography in my own way so I can help the world better understand the beauty in nature, and why it is so important that we protect it. Your series also gave me more confidence in my decision to purchase a Z9. It is the perfect wildlife camera, and it is apparently indestructable!
