LYRICS
See there down at the liquor store
Gone to drink those troubles in some more
Down at the old Rogue River
That old Rogue River
You were daddy’s sunshine days
He left, left for good went down to his grave
Mother Mary full of grace won’t you
Watch these children in my place
I’m going under the river
That old Rogue River
Seemed that nothing could be said but sung
There’s a fire in the little ones
Lord and it burns hot
Lord and it burns bright
To believe in angels loving light
Watching over her and sisters too
Mama and Papa gone angels will have to do for now
Lord have mercy in my dying days
There’s been too much leaving
There’s been too much pain
Left my babies in the cold
Now my heart it aches
I’ve been growing old
Feel it rise up into my throat
Lay these troubles down
Lift my soul
I’m going to pray forgiveness
Let me go
Pray my children
And their children know
Not to do what I have done
But let go
Lay these troubles down
Lift my soul
Lift my soul
Lift my soul up and over the river
That old Rogue River

Bonnie Paine is a force of nature.
I love this so much!
I live in the Rogue River Valley!!!! I had no idea there was a song about it! Well Done!
I wonder if I will ever see this live in the actual rogue River valley. Rafting, salmon fishing,
(World class).. underrepresented part of our nation
Lovely song! Saw them at the point park (pittsburgh) . very talented people ! Keep it up
Congratulations guys
That Tool cover just popped up on my feed the other week, and now I've subscribed. Looking at some of the comments I suspect I'm not alone. For once, the algorithm works.
Yup, same for me two weeks ago - the Schism cover 👍

absolutely love, love this song
WOW! great job guys! hope you come back to Tulsa soon
See her down at the liquor store
Goin' to drink those troubles
And some more
Down at the old rogue river
That old rogue river (x 2)
You were daddy's sunshine daisy
Left for good, went down to his grave
Mother Mary, full of grace
Won't you watch these children
In my place
I'm going under the river
That old rogue river (x 2)
Seemed like nothing could be
Said by song(?)
There's a fire in the little ones, Lord
It burns hot, Lord, and
It burns bright
She leaves an angel, locked in light(?)
Watching over her and sisters too
Mama and papa gone, angels will
Have to do for now
Lord, have mercy in my dying age
There's been too much [?]
And there's been too much shame
Left my babies in the cold, now my
Heart is aching 'cause I've been
Growing old
Feel is rise up into my throat
Lay these troubles down and
Lift my soul
I'm goin' to
Pray forgiveness
Let me go
Pray, my children and their children know
Not to do what I have done
But let go
Lay these troubles down
Lift my soul
Lift my soul
Lift my soul up and over the river
That old rogue river
Lift up and over the river
That old road river
Drink those roubles IN some more
You were daddy’s sunshine DAYS
Yes to by song and locked in light!
There’s been too much LEAVING
Now my heart it aches, I’ve been growing old.
Close, but this is my best take on the tricky parts.
See THERE down at the liquor store
Gonna drink those troubles IN some more.
Wow, I love this one.
fantastic. Saw them at Lucidity and they were great. One of the big highlights!
Phil Lesh said red rocks was the most pressure. Why? You wanted to live up to the venue.
If you want to know why this fantastic band split up, note the mic adjustment at 1:19 and then just a few seconds later Bonnie puts it back where it was.
This is a sign of unrest, disagreement, and annoyance.
I think you are reading way too much into what you think you have seen. Bonnie and Dan are very close friends and the band splitting had more to do with members desires to pursue family, musical endeavors etc. enjoy the music and do not spawn deception and grief, rather be of peace and harmony with your thoughts and words.
He put it towards her just b4 he started pounding on the bongos. I was thinking he didn't want the bongos out bonging her voice so he turned it towards her. Idk. That's my take.
Good catch. I’m as sorry as anyone that they broke up, but we’re human. It’s hard to get along.
@@wbouzek623 Maybe. Maybe not. As far as "peace and harmony with my words...and deception and grief." You are out of your mind. Pointing out what may be an accurate instance of "unrest, disagreement, and annoyance" has absolutely nothing to do with deception and grief. It certainly does not decrease the amount of peace and harmony. When successful bands break up, unrest and disagreement are the usual reasons. When you say "musical endeavors" the translation is "musical differences" and even disagreements. If you are in harmony as a band, you stay together through thick and thin. And thus it has always been.
